Consequences of Raedric's Hold

He arrived at it through rational methods: he tried animancers in addition to his spiritual advisors. When all else (including murder) failed he turned to the gods. It's not his fault that he doesn't know about the villain of the game's silly, pointless sceme to take over the world or whatever. It doesn't make him not a horrible person, but it does demonstrate that he's got all his faculties. If he was a brutal evil ****er and succeded, you might have a point. But he is a brutal evil ****er an he failed. His intentions don't matter, the results do -
Well I beat the audra dragon....
stratigo replied to Benedictous's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
What does cheesing mean? I tanked it with one fighter and rest of my party surrounded it from all sides and hacked away, because my characters were surrounding it, only one got hit at a time. Tank needed 5 major endurance potions to keep alive. Only 2 other characters were hit and both stayed alive barely. How? I put every max endurance piece of gear I had on my Paladin tank, then buffed him with the +50 endur potion and he STILL was one shot by the crush or the breath. Mine took about 60-70% damage and i immediately healed with potion + durance. My Eder has 250 endurance, the breath did something like 180-200 damage i think. Defences around 100 each, deflection highest with 115. 15DR with corrode. Base DR 12. The buffs might have helped too, i buffed him with Durances spells every now and then. How did you heal when your tank spends the fight on their ass between its attacks? -
My cipher's raw damage doesn't hit. It's Fort is really goddam high. As is its will. And I think reflex. If I miss the first CC, I just have to restart there. If I hit the first CC, I can clean up the adds (or have the dragon clean up the adds), but then I'm stuck not being able to hit reliably until it breathes on each of my characters one at a time until they are all dead.

Why does a level cap make sense when there is a finite amount of exp in the game? Compared to other games there is no way to powerlevel your characters as you only get exp from quests and a small bit from skills/monsters Actually, power-leveling is quite easy. My party is level 10 and I haven't even gotten to chapter 2 yet, (I can, but I'm finishing up all the side quests first, which is... yet more xp). But combat isn't exactly...challenging. I hit the cipher 'win' button for my first character, got bored and started over. Most enemies can't even touch my tanks and only the cheaty spirit buggers get past them. Most of the game is eay. Then you get to the adra dragon.

Endless Paths of Od Nua - Stuck
stratigo replied to tracycollins's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
don't go down the pit guys... I could have sworn there was a master staircase on that level, so unless you have progressed to a point where you are totally unable to move and your autosave is even pat that point, the master staircase should only be a few rooms away from the drake room -
Blood Legacy Broken?
stratigo replied to viewaskew's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
There's a path you haven't taken. The daughter isn't in the blood chamber, she's in a room that's a few corridors down. You have to go through the blood chamber to get there though -
man, **** this fight. I can't even get close. I can manage to clear the adds, but the boss just kills one party member at a time with his breath and there's **** all I can do about it. Non of my characters can hit it, and my cihpers run out of focus, loose the ability to stun, and then die The adds by themselves are ****ing tough fight. There isn't a strategy to use beyond cheesing the fight, and I didn't build in enough cheese.

Game needs 2 more levels i think

Retrospection
stratigo replied to Verenti's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
Anamancy feels more like an argument about ethics. Anamancers in the game tend to be outright evil gits raising undead and torturing people. But the science itself can lead togood things. I felt more resonant with the struggle at wether the benefit of anamancy outweighed the cost of having a bunch of looneys run around torturing for science. The religion thing is less atheism and more intollerance. The religious folk are all running around murdering whatever group the religion decides they don't like today. A decade ago it was eothosians, now it is anamancers. In a few years they'll find another group to hate and attempt genocide against. -

Which battle is the hardest one?
stratigo replied to bronzepoem's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
It depends entirely on when you reach a fight. And very few people will have gotten to the end. For me, my hardest fight was the lighthouse floor that killed me around a dozen times before I stumbled on a strategy, but I've also jut started act 3 of the game, so something harder might come up. My friend killed Cail the Slient at level 7 path the damned. Is Cail the Slient a true dargon? I think it's a drake. -
