  1. I bet playing at higher difficulty makes the game significantly longer, because choices in battle matter more, and there is more considering of variables during combat pauses. That can easily quintuple the time spent in combat. Also, a harder difficulty brings more cautious approaches to exploring, which can also easily multiply time spent playing. And personally, I clear all black shroud from environments, making the whole area as revealed as possible on the maps.
  2. Playing on Hard, at 30 hours in, I was mostly level 4 with two level 3s (hired them later on when my level 4s were having trouble). Now, with 33 hours played, my four level 4s just made their 5th level, and my level 3s are about one XP gain away from their 4th levels. Feels good to me.
  3. Is the 25% of allied damage which this talent causes to be experienced by foes 25% of an allied target's damage divided between nearby foes, or 25% reflected into each foe, thereby multiplying the damage by the number of foes who experience it?
  4. Maybe this is why my Cipher, who I gave the talent +10 focus when they were at 25 focus, only went up to 30 focus with that +1 level.
  5. I'm not wearing the priest robes, and my game crashes in that area. I don't have enough lockpicks on my party to open the needed door to speak to the needed person, and I don't have mechanics level 5 in any of my party members, so I need to leave the keep, find some lockpicks, then come back to complete the keep (I killed the animancer in the dungeons), but I can't leave the keep because every attempt to do so crashes the game. I have the robes in my inventory, though - but I can't remove them from my inventory because the game doesn't have a way to drop items, or to move them into a chest in the environment.
  6. A lot of us are experience similar issues with Raedric keep crashing on loading zones: http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/72630-raedrics-keep-siege-platform-crashing-game/
  7. I already had considerably low health in a few of my party members, and was planning on resting to heal up before further exploring - but then I accidentally tripped detection from a room of guards by walking past the open doorway without sneaking. There are 3 visible on the ground, but there might be another hidden by the hallway's lower walls, I can't remember. I'm playing Hard difficulty, and I felt I'd pushed my party health as much as I'd get away with before this surprise fight.
  8. I also just crashed when opening a door in the keep. I had gone through the sewers to the northernmost exit up to the keep, where there is a wide hallway with a table with a goat on it, and I think the leftmost door in that area crashed the game when I clicked to open it.
  9. There's a talent that can be selected that does minor healing to party members. Something like 45 hp.
  10. It's presently too difficult to make out where a selected party member is among a battling clump of friends and foes. The momentary pale flash of an immediately selected character often can't be noticed, due to so much overlapping of selection circles. I suggest making a selected character green, or yellow in combat, so they can be told apart from the rest with ease. My other technical issue threads: Pass Time Feature requested Can't reach top of semi-offscreen dialog panel to resize Party formation icon in control panel doesn't update Frequency vibrating of hoverbox & hoverbox-text Players ignoring commands when attacked due to auto-attaced due to auto-attack settings Tutorial tips disappear too quickly
  11. An idle rest option will be good to have. It doesn't have to heal, but just to be able to wait in a place until a desired time.
  12. In the wilderness just below it. Just to the right of the path, towards the southern exit.
  13. Is there one? Wanting to pass time from night to day, cause day is prettier to adventure in.
  14. There is a healer nearby the first town. I dunno if they can remove maimed, but they can certainly do a lot to help prevent it.
  15. Difficulty is not just the mode selected at the start of the game - it's also completely relative to party size and composition. So a decked out party will breeze through what a minimal or unshielded party will agonize over.
  16. It seems there are no penalties or restriction on which type of armour can be put on which class character - I just want to confirm that this is the case. Then I'll replace light armour for medium armour on my most vulnerable characters.
  17. I'm playing on Hard difficulty, as a Cipher, and have had an elf wizard with me. I've just made it beyond the first town, and now gained a priest into my party - but haven't yet had any combat encounters since the priest joined me. With just my Cipher and Wizard, who are at level 3, it is very difficult for me to defeat two Wolves - but if I can pull off Charm on one before they start attacking me, I can possibly manage it. I wasn't able to defeat the rat king, or whatever he's called, in the temple ruins in the first town with just these two, and to defeat the rat humanoids other than the king, I had to lure them out, max 2 at a time. I couldn't defeat the Bear and Young Bear in the cave before the first town with just by Cipher, or the few Young Wolves that were in the small ruins in the wilderness before the first town, the same wilderness where the bear cave is.
  18. Do characters that get knocked out in combat still receive XP at the end of combat? Actually is there XP for combat in PoE? I notice I'm not getting XP for kills that are done through Cipher's Tenuous Grasp skill.
  19. I've found that exiting the game and relaunching it, then loading a save, resets the dialog box height. Still, it shouldn't be resizable all the way off of the accessible screen.
