  1. Might not be a shooting with guns, but in 2009 there was a girl with 10 molotow cokctails in Bonn: http://www.spiegel.de/panorama/justiz/vereitelter-amoklauf-von-schuelerin-frauen-koennen-auch-aggressiv-sein-a-624246.html She got stopped by another girl who accidentally ran into her in the ladies restroom. The surprised girl then attacked her with a knife and cut off a thumb while doing so (doc was able to reattach it, luckily). But wait, this probably was a boy who pretended to be a girl. Can't be anything else, no? Or it doesn't count because the worst was prevented? Anita Sarkeesian is a horrible person. Also this one: http://yle.fi/uutiset/prosecutor_pair_planned_to_kill_50_at_university_with_guns_and_gas/7262776 Clearly it was the man's idea. Actually, it was the other way around, but I CBA to find a link for it in English. I was making a joke.

  3. I shove another in. It helps with constipation.
  4. That would be a cool costume - hmm - what to do as a bald guy though. Also slightly freaked out. It's 20 min past midnight and I live next door to a nursery/kindergarden (yes do they evacuate the kids from the ajoirning room from time to time, I do try to behave though... really!) ... aaaanyway, there's a soft melody coming from in there. Childish like, on a xylophone - kling klang kling klang -pause- kling klang kling. I'm sure it's haunted, how do I exorcise kid demons? Drug fueled orgy with hot women.
  5. Doors slowly creaking open tend to put me on edge.
  6. Wat? Shouldn't you wait a little while for more facts to come out before making assumptions? If only to not seem to be taking advantage of a tragedy.
  7. But how does it work as a cultural object?
  8. 4/10Does that mean my post is better or worse than the Phantom Menace? Better, cuz 4 is greater than 2.
  9. I think Leigh's statements are more confusing than the chart.
  10. I must not be very smart, because I can't make head or tail of this flow chart one bit...where does it start, why isn't everything connected, what's going onFor a flow chart, it certainly doesn't seem to flow. That chart, the wage gap and the 1 in 5 women will be raped, makes me believe that feminism and statistical analysis don't mix well. Of course they don't, women can't grasp statistics, correlation or causation. Interestingly, one of the sexiest women I know is an economist/statistician. :D Have you checked if she is a woman? She must be trans.

  13. I refuse to feel sympathy for a Pisces.
  14. But here(and in all honesty I feel less close to you guys than I do with my brothers at Bleeding Cool) there is some form of closeness. I would not recognise Monte Carlo or Walsingham if I saw them, but I feel I know them pretty well from interactions on this forum. In real life, I don't know most of the people well enough to care deeply. And we could all be faking empathy. I have a sneaking suspicion that the same force these forums emit to draw in lawyers also attracts sociopaths as well.
  15. Sure. I would even agree with you on that, and blame it largely on Publishers being lazy. What ideas do you have for changing the situation?
  16. Both those operate in the real world. Internet is chaos. So for internet based consumer revolt no leader is needed. But The Leader of Gamergate has spoken!
  17. I feel like we've ventured in to Htrae. It seems less than a decade ago right-wing fellows like Jack Thompson were the ones going after gaming. Now the authoritarian left is making similar arguments as Thompson and is being supported by gaming press. Are environmentalists going to start arguing for more oil drilling soon?
  18. There was a drop in empathy 5 months after it was created? Or did you mean carried over from BIS? It might have been worse over there. We delighted in each others misery IIRCI lived on Misery, then some lady chopped off my foot when I wrote a book she didn't like.
  19. There's an AMA up on KotakuinAction with a feminist that is going well.
  20. Let's be honest, isn't almost everything that isn't porn a flamewar between oversensitive people?
  21. I've realized something is very wrong with this poll: no David Bowie.
  22. I think someone here posted a tumblr where the author stated he found the concerns of gamergate being about individual accountability. A good read, and frankly describes the reactions to this stuff perfectly. The opponents of gamergate seem focused on groups while supporters are focused on individuals. As it is, a large problem with the narrative pushed by the media is that they have no identifiable targets to pursue. I suppose they could go after Erik Kain, TotalBiscuit, or Boogie, but none of those fellows have said anything approaching controversey(in fact they've been civil and have called for civility) and have been ignored. Targeting ganergate as a whole rather than the individuals behind the heinous acts is just going to make them seem like **** in the eyes of us who just want more ethical journalism and don't want to be lumped in with every troll who is harassing someone.
  23. I'm ashamed to admit it took me a while to realize what was so funny.
  24. That was actually fairly insightful. I do think a large portion of ganergate supporters want to see personal responsibility for actions rather than shifting the burden onto the group as a whole. I would personally file that line of thinking under ethics myself, but I can see the writer's point and have to wonder if we should be having conversations about accountability seperate from conversations of ethics.
  25. Thanos and Don Cheadle Captain Planet. http://youtu.be/TwJaELXadKo
