Will it be finished before Berserk?????????

I believe the netflix algorithm is a malevolent psychic entity that feeds on suffering, which explains its recs better than it learning based on what I watch.

Nah, uuuhhii's got way different politics and never uses caps at all. Besides, saying nothing at all with weird spacing is on brand for Bruce.

Beastars - The End of Beastars - Part 1 of ???? So first of all this bull**** with split seasons can go **** itself. Just make two seasons and save us all the confusion. More importantly it's pretty funny, there's just something about doing a show about anthropomorphic animals while also doubling down on them being animals that is hilarious. We're introduced to the Beastar, a horse who is pretty much Batman in a wifebeater, that hunts down criminals and turns carnivores into fertilizer to grow his carrots. That alone had me laughing for quite a bit. But then there's some stuff that can be read interestingly (both good and very bad), like the difficulties of interspecies relationships, discrimination against carnivores, and the difference between land and sea. Anyways the show is full of stuff like that with uncanny cgi that doesn't grate as bad when it's not humans.

Honestly I think we're dealing with an addiction to anger/outrage that's reached a place where the real non-issue things they'd get in a frenzy over don't do it for them anymore, so they're having to make unhinged **** up like immigrants eating pets or whatever trans conspiracy is big this week to keep up their high. I'm not sure if there is a real solution here because the places they go to get their fixes are reinforcing and most of their other circle end up getting too turned off by whatever weird **** they're on about now to stay around. The trans stuff specifically is weird because chances are the biggest interaction they've had with a transperson is online, either fighting on socials or viewing videos of a.....sexual nature*. It's not a good time to be talking to a guy about work stuff only to have them derail the conversation with some **** about the gubbermint paying for transgender operations or whatever. *please read this in the voice of Matt Berry's Laszlo Cravensworth

Whenever people start talking about "biological women" I feel bummed out because I'm expecting to see a non-biological woman, by which I mean a lady robot, and that's never the case. If only the AI people put in work for that instead of an aggregated plagiarism generator that does everything bad and wrong then maybe we could be dealing with robots instead of whatever has the brain wormed mad this week. Would be refreshing.

I mean in retrospect I have to say that Utena does hit great.....though the black rose stuff is still not the best. Kinda feel like rewatching it now. I think all of us itt should enter a pact where we will all work to destroy any doublegangers of said pact members.

At least it's coming back soon....still waiting on Chainsaw Man, Hell's Paradise, Dorohedoro, and One Punch Man. @Bartimaeus First of all, you have a doppelganger here under the name "Bartimeus". If you want help defeating him you've got my sword. Less importantly.....I got to say I watched the magic emi credits again and maybe it's the more Lynchian vibe of the OVA but I don't like the first one very much. Based on what you've written about the show I can read a lot of stuff into it, but I think it does communicate Emi's sadness at not having gotten good at "fake" magic and struggling to do it instead of effortlessly doing it in her BRACK RADY slightly older magical girl form. On a more technical level, the OVA also seems to be more on beat with the song to me if that makes sense.

Taken solely as the 2 minute clip you posted, I like it. It seems like the magician girl is realizing that she's just a dream of a young(er) child, one that disappears as the kid becomes a teenager in a much different reality than what she dreamed of. And then haunting refrain at the end of the girl at her desk invokes the kind of longing for her childhood dreams in the face of the reality of (young) adulthood. For me it hits like a more wholesome speedrun of Mulholland Drive, but I didn't watch the anime or OVA. What I did watch was the most recent Dandadan. Boy howdy I wish other shows paid their animators better because it's nice to not see PS2 era CGI. Also the idea of an anatomical model from a science class coming to life to search a dump for a discarded anatomical model that it's in love with is honestly not anything I would have put on a bingo card but here we are. Not the worst surprise of 2024.

Yes, is that a bad thing though?

I have to say that everything I've heard about United Healthcare since someone shot the CEO honestly made me curious why it took this long for someone to try to kill him. Sort of a weird curiosity in the US where the rampant violence doesn't trickle up to bizness guys, politicians, and other members of the ruling class. And while I would never condone murder.....I can say that it's not as gut wrenching to see a cartoonishly evil company man get shot than a bunch of school kids.

https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/how-syria-rebels-stars-aligned-assads-ouster-2024-12-08/ So the first picture in the article features a guy with an ISIS flag and yet there's no mention of ISIS in the article at all? Huh, that's a little weird.

Well Israel helped Hamas to undercut the PLO so probably ok.

US Presidential Elections - 2024 edition

Rhonda Sanctimonious has been running for president since he was in middle school and anything he does is purely based on what at the time seems to be the best way to get there. I think being a Trump loyalist is a requirement to getting anywhere in the Republican party and being able to shift the blame for losing Florida in a hypothetical anti-Trump blue wave would be better than sticking it out in a job he's already tried to get out of. My bet is that if it's offered he takes it. -
I don't think anyone but perhaps the most braindead rules based law and order guy is surprised that Biden pardoned his son. There's no way in hell Biden is going to do anything but retire after the start of the year and he may as well flex the benefits while he has them. And while I don't think he cares about political consequences, and neither do the dems generally or else they maybe wouldn't have spent the last 4 months hanging out with Liz Cheney, by the time the next election season hits Hunter Biden will have evaporated from the collective consciousness.
