  1. Which seems very normal for any design profession. The abnormal thing is that they get paid for the extra day.
  2. I think Atton was Obsidian trying to do something with the archetype that wasn't about licking lamp posts in winter (which would come later). But I feel KotoR tried too hard to be deep and meaningful and ended up on the edge of simple edgyness, with Atton being a good example of that: This is not Carth, it is a dark, gritty adult (Carth).
  3. That can be a tough level. Especially as it can't be solved by spamming Paladins
  4. Does Carth play Majesty? Does Atton? Does Kaidan? Does any RPG companion? Have you considered that when evaluating them?
  5. I also have a strong dislike for Mina Tang.
  6. All of them are whiny because somehow that translates as endearing vulnerability to simulate an intimate relationship with the player.
  7. Kaidan Alenko is a Bioware trope. Kaidan, Alistair, Atton*... all variations of the Carth Onasi pretty boy people wanted to have digital, pretend relationships with and that turned Bioware rpgs from heavily formulaic rpg romps into heavily formulaic dating sims with rpg features. * fully recognising that KotoR2 was Obsidian, not Bioware, but forced to follow the Bioware roadmap
  8. My main problem with Total War: Troy is the reinforcement mechanic. Reinforcements appear immediately at the start of the battle. That's not reinforcements, that is simply two stacks. And garrisons reinforce friendly armies in their province, meaning defenders get free troops. It's a very clumsy way of handling it.
  9. I need to check Star Citizen as well this year. Just seems like too much hassle to even try. Maybe we can get organised and take turns? This year was Raithe's. Next year I check. There probably is a person who could take 2022.
  10. I just think that after Morrowind they realized modders would provide the most content and draw to their games anyway, so they just make a generic sandbox and let them do the rest of the work for free.
  11. Could be worse. You could have been metadigital. Or any of the people who posted A LOT and left the forum before the system was implemented.
  12. The statistics don't lie.
  13. And of course the most important mods ever: Bob Ross voice packs
  14. Have the sea right at your doorstep! Wake up and dive right in right from your bedroom! Get eaten by your house while you swim! Yeah, I don't see the real estate agent finding many buyers for that one.
  15. Continuing my statistical analysis of the statistics, Guard Dog posts once every 8 days since 2005. So he spends a week analyzing forum trends to maximize the likes of the one post he will make. Raithe on the other hand has settled into a working strategy and just spams that. So right now Raithe is winning, but should like-patterns in the forum community change, Guard Dog is the most likely to adapt and profit from them.
  16. Well, on average he gets 5,5 likes per post. In comparison others in the top 8 are at 0,77 likes per post (#2 Boeroer), 0,98 likes per post (#3 Sensuki), 1,66 likes per post (#4 rjhsae), 13,76 likes per post (#5 Guard Dog), 1,01 likes per post (#6 Keyrock), 0,82 likes per post (#7 Hurlshot), and 1,99 likes per post (#8 Shady Sands) At 2,02 likes per post you need to spam a lot to catch up. I am a hopelessly unappreciated genius at 0,67.
  17. Skyrim. You can mod out that long cart ride, execution intro sequence. If there ever was a quality of life mod for any game, it is alternate starts for Skyrim. Also Silent Bradford for FiraXCOM games.
  18. I think you just post those so people don't notice you rigged the system.
  19. Bye majestic. We'll play some Wing Commander in your memory.
  20. What you have missed: Drudanae is now called HoonDing and mostly only posts screenshots. Usually without comments, though the screenshots often include text. A number of people have kids now. I don't really post Mordheim screenshots anymore. You can now win the internet here on the forum: it counts the likes and other reactions you get throughout the day and whoever gets the most for that day wins. Or Raithe wins. Usually Raithe wins. Keyrock still plays games nobody else even knew existed. A number of people play Conan Exiles and the screenshot thread will every now and then be filled with impressive feats of digital desert architecture. And scantily clad characters taking it all in because a) it is hot there and b) they spend all their money to pay for construction materials and the cost of steel and concrete went up again because the oil price went up and that left them without money for a coat.
  21. Edit: doh, posted in the wrong thread. That Total War post was meant for the What Are You Playing thread.
  22. Total War Troy's Amazon DLC is out, so I decided to give the game another try now as Penteth... Pethe... Penci... Penny of the Amazons. She has a horde army and doesn't hold territory. You gallop across ancient Greece at the head of your horsewimin with the aim to burn Athens to the ground. Cool, maybe that way she can get rid of the drug dealers in front of my house. As a note, my army of horsewimin has one unit on horseback. Also, the hero herself doesn't have a horsie. Raze my first city. Get the choice of just looting then burning or enslaving. One option takes 1 turn, the other 5. Pick the second one, notice there is no counter, no indicator how far along you are (in Age of Wonders if you click the city you get a tooltip saying you are in the process of doing X and it will take so many more turns). Meh. Silly oversight. After razing the city, I move on to the next city but in the meantime they are reinforced with a large army. Makes sense. So double back and attack their allies. Those make peace offerings which I reject and raze one of their cities. They ask for peace again but I refuse (accepting peace would actually hurt my hero's reputation). I try to assault their next city only to get a warning that I'd be declaring war. But we are at war. They had declared war on me and now I was waging that war against... oh, the game decided because they offered peace, regardless of whether I accepted or not, they unilaterally got it. OK, let's restart this amazon campaign for the third time. I really want to burn my neighbourhood down.
  23. I can see Keyrock's character running from castle to castle obliterating these bosses, and some delivery person with an urgent letter running after them, and each time they arrive being told "Thank you for your delivery, but the recipient is in another castle".
  24. Empire of Sin may be interesting. Werewolf: Heart of the Forest has an interesting demo, so I want to see where the full game takes me. XCOM 3 is something I am looking forward to as I enjoyed what they explored in Chimera Squad.
  25. I try to keep away from loot boxes on principle
