  1. I think the tutorial dungeon does just that, or... I don't know, I actually never stepped on the glyph trap at the very start.
  2. Just a few cents... I think an "only Endurance" system could work, but then there'd have to be some "Injury" system like Obs has hinted at. 0 Injuries = Regen 100% 1 Injury = Regen 75% 2 Injuries = Regen 50% 3 Injuries = Regen 25% 4 Injuries = Dead In some ways it'd be like 4 hit points
  3. No, someone must be trolling. anameforobsidian (link where I read it) isn't trolling or trying to misinform. Maybe just a case of "misunderstanding" or "assumptions".
  4. You would be correct. However, we designers scrap ideas almost as fast as we think them up. I would be more than happy to do so if the community wants to back a "Black Isle". You have my word that your Black Isle, will be the only Black Isle. -B Wooot! Suddenly something exciting happened inside, all fluffy and flowery and warm. I'm in! (Something tells me I'll live on bread and water for a while)... it's a joke of course, I got the $ to spare
  5. My idea was Mind Ravager to get a reference to the cipher class. Soul Ravager? Animavager? Rage and Focus.... Zen Monk?
  6. Just read that in another thread, that sounds interesting... But it's regenerating Endurance then? Can you get injuries during combat, or only when knocked out? Edit: Would an injury cause Endurance drops/grey area? Or portrait graphics? (Doom Guy/Wolfenstein 3D)
  7. The injury stuff sounds interesting... But, passively regenerating health out of combat, is it true?
  8. Is anyone going to set up a PayPal for Pirate ship? The badge thing is perfect for it, but that's up to Obsidian. A Crowdfunding within the Crowdfunding.
  9. I like most stuff that's new, but regenerating health? :/ I'd like to know "At what rate"
  10. Say whaaat? I really liked the Endurance/Health thing... Resting isn't out is it? Or revised as well? (Did you mention it? This caught my eye and I skimmed the rest) Edit: Speculative suggestion: Wands and staffs, being able to scribe one or two scrolls spells onto them... tattoos? (A substitute for a multi-classing Wizard? I.e. Wand & Shield, Dual-Wielding Wands, Two-Handed Staff etc.)
  11. Detective or Agent or Dunryd Row Agent That last one made me think... unlockable faction titles? Edit: Sorry, double post. On my phone.
  12. Barbarian/Cipher = Ravager Edit: Also, would specializing in a single class give some "Title"? E.g. Level 18 Barbrian = Warchief. Or too much?
  13. If anything problematic occurs, we can just take a nod towards Black Isle by going for Grey Isle, cus, grey zone. It'd still be a reference, just one that's a bit further away (Black and White makes Grey). Edit: Could I suggest another thing? All money towards the badge, also towards pirate ship? If possible.
  14. I would too, but like IndiraLightFoot says, it's so good, so either Obsidian already is doing something like it or thought in those ways, or those who backed the Island tier are already on it.
  15. "Sea Peoples". This might belong in Option A and, yeah, pretty bland, but it's what the first documented pirates were called. Obsidian Sea Peoples, what is "Sea Peoples" in Engwithan? Sailing a steady warship made in obsidian, with obsidian cannons and cannonballs, obsidian tools, obsidian weapons and armor, and gloss black sails, and let's not forget the clickety obsidian peg leg. Sandstorms (Fig): This is Arabic inspired. "Sea Peoples" & "Setting" fits? Battle of the Delta, "also known under several other names, such as Tjekker, Peleset, and Sherden". The Incursions of the Sea People.
  16. Eh, I'd say, join the community that got an island and advocate for Black Isle. Unless they've already thought about it
  17. I'm looking forward to these styles: Corsair (From Guild Wars 2 wiki) And this too: Buccaneer Speaking of which, here's a google search for pirate fashion. But historical might be a better search.
  18. Oh, well... darn! I thought it was weird cus there's not many islands in the South I'm wondering if there'll be any Pearl Coast areas in Deadfire (read something about Pirates on or from the Pearl Coast, don't remember which)
  19. I said this above, too. Not so much that I want it in, but that the lore could fitted tothat kind of transferenceI'm ambivalent, but: Would explain Level 1 a lot. Wouldn't explain how we'd keep physical talents. Other than that, could Eothas soul sucking cause any physical changes? Face~ Not so keen on race or gender change (unless, new host body). Reading this thread sounds like a hard "No" though.
  20. I'll reiterate my idea from a different thread: What if Eothas kills the body of the Watcher, and the Watcher soul tethers itself to someone in Naasitaq or Deadfire Archipelago? Like, Eothas sucks half of the Watcher's soul, but he/she manages to escape with some of it. Other than that... Beard, Hair, mostly. I'd probably re-make my Orlan Barbarian regardless.
  21. I'm still in. EDIT: Any chance that Obsidian would allow for a sort of subscription based payment? Could easily pay $1000-$2000 (4 months and 8 months respectively/$250 a month). Could pay the full too this way but 20 months seems a bit far off post-release
