More Hardwood + Round Holes = Lots of Scoring in Basketball 2K19

So, basically soapboxing. -
Eldridge Wayne Coleman better known as "Superstar" Billy Graham, age 79. Probably best known for his run as WWWF (yes, there were 3 Ws at one point) champion from 1977 to 1978.

@BartimaeusStumping? I am not familiar with that term. I can infer what it means from the statement, but I've never heard that before. -
LOL. Wasn't the pve mode the entire justification for Overwatch 2 being sold as a """"""""""new game""""""""""? This is a level of scumbaggery from Activision that's so brazen that I can't help but be impressed.

LeBron and especially AD brought it in game 1, but it wasn't enough. I'll give the Lakers credit, after being down double digits for almost the entire game, they made a run late in the 4th and made it interesting. They couldn't get over the hump, though. As good as LeBron and AD were, Jokic and Murray were that much better. Jokic just casually posted a 34 - 21 - 14. No big deal. -
The Jungle Book remake is the best of the Disney live action remakes I've seen. Is it as good as the animated classic? Hell no, but it's not embarrassing either, so by that standard I guess it's "pretty good". Just understand that I'm comparing against the Aladdin remake which was embarrassing and the Mulan remake which was whatever a step worse than embarrassing is. Retched, I guess?

Given Disney's recent track record of turning their beloved animated classics into trash live action movies, what could you possibly expect? How many awesome animated movies turned crappy live action movies do you need before you see a pattern?

Savage Beach (1989) - The thrilling conclusion to the Donna and Taryn trilogy, and yes, there is yet another Abilene, Shane, tying this all the way back to Malibu Express. After delivering critical medicine a severe storm forces Donna and Taryn to make an emergency landing on a remote island in the Pacific Ocean where they are dragged into a conflict between multiple factions trying to recover a shipment of gold stolen from the Philipines during WW2 by Japan that was lost at sea. This movie features copious amounts of nudity (the most since Malibu Express and the most male nudity ever, still no dong though), sexual innuendos aplenty, double crosses, a Steyr AUG, and the worst old man makeup you'll ever see. As with the other 3 movies, the cinematography is good, Andy Sidaris knew what he was doing and how to spend his meager budget well, the acting is terrible (although there is one moment where it's just Donna and Taryn talking and the dialogue sound shockingly decent, like what 2 humans talking would actually sound like, it's just that 1 moment, though), and the action is cheesy as ****. you'll see a lot of the same actors in these movies, especially the last 3. This one also has Al Leong who's the Asian villain in every single movie that ever featured an Asian villain. I also got a laugh out of the fact that the big treasure everyone was after was one small box with 6 bars of gold. Having seen these 4 movies here's my list from best to worst: 1) Hard Ticket To Hawaii - Easily the best of the 4 by virtue of the absurdity factor. Nothing in any of the other 3 movies reaches the levels of absurdity seen here. 2) Savage Beach 3) Picasso Trigger 4) Malibu Express Will I watch any more Andy Sidaris movies? Probably, but not for a bit. I've been told that his 90s movies were not as good as his 80s movies and Savage Beach was made in 1989. Still, I'll probably give at least one of the 90s movies a shot at some point.

We're not even 1 Kraken attack in and you're already jumping the shark? Come on, you don't pull ridiculous stunts like these until at least the 3rd or 4th kaiju attack. We need to keep this grounded and gritty at the start. Forget Illinois, it's not going to work. I got this. Venice. Eh? Eh? Kraken could wreck Venice and we don't even need it to have any special, non-Kraken specific powers. Just imagine the Kraken scooping up a gondola with one of its tentacles and hurling it into a crowd of terrified Venetians. *chef kiss*

Illinois is a weird state for a Kraken to attack, not exactly an overabundance of seaside cities. I suppose it could attack Chicago, but how much damage could a Kraken do to Chicago? Waterfront properties, sure, but any Chicagoan at least 1/4 mile inland can just laugh at the Kraken while eating kielbasa. Now, King Ghidorah, on the other hand, could **** Chicago up!

Yes. I had the 94 proof variety, so had I drank the whole bottle at once perhaps I would have been ready to attack Illinois. Although, I probably would have been more inclined to attack the District of Columbia. It's closer and a lot more worthy of attacking.

That's the rum I used to make rum raisins a while back. My bottle didn't attack Illinois, though. The rum & cokes I made with the rest were quite tasty.

Harden was terrific in games 1 and 4 but he completely no showed in game 7, as is his custom. Embiid tried but he got completely demolished by Tatum. Why did it take the Celtics 7 games to figure out that forcing Embiid to switch to get him to guard Tatum was a huge mismatch they should exploit as much as possible? Embiid is a great defender but he can't guard Tatum, the speed difference is just way too big and Tatum straight up ruined him in game 7. -
My latest batch of mead just finished brewing. I switched up the formula this time, adding blueberries and lemongrass rather than raspberries and mint. Time will tell in terms of the flavor, I need to let it mellow for a while, but from the glass I tasted I suspect removing mint was a mistake. I'm still experimenting so it's all good. In terms of potency I think I finally hit my target. I've been aiming for around 9 - 10 % ABV and I think I'm right around that, maybe slightly stronger, basically typical wine strength (11 - 12%).

Note to self: Find out who @Bartimaeusis backing and bet on the other team. I keed, I keed, I don't gamble. Jayson Tatum has been kinda shaky this postseason but he just had his statement game today. That was a monstrous performance. -
Another observation about Isle of Siptah, the resource distribution seems to be a lot better than in the Exiled Lands. The 2 mains resources I'm referencing here are brimstone and black ice. In the Exiled Lands brimstone only naturally occurs in 4 locations on the whole map, if I'm remembering correctly. You can find some here and there in chests and on corpses, but nodes are only located in 4 places. Granted, a little brimstone goes a long way, but still, when you do need brimstone you'd likely wind up making a long trip. Similar case with black ice, it was a pain in the ass to get in the Exiled Lands. Still, not nearly as much of a pain in the ass as star metal, which is why I stuck with hardened steel tools and didn't bother getting star metal tools. Star metal is so precious and such a colossal pain to gather that I saved all my star metal for weapons. Star metal tools didn't seem much better, if at all better, than hardened steel tools in my experiences. Anyweay, star metal seems just as much of a pain to get in Isle of Siptah as it was in the Exiled Lands, but black ice and brimstone seem a lot more generously distributed around the map. The nodes are smaller, but they seem to be in a lot more places, meaning that you can set up shop almost anywhere and not have far to go for brimstone and black ice, which is great.

After a couple years away from Conan Exiles I scooped up Isle of Siptah during the 5th Anniversary sale and jumped back in. I'm rather enjoying the Isle of Siptah map, it may just be that it's all new to me so I get the joys of exploration and discovery again, whereas I knew the entirety of the Exiled Lands like the back of my hand when I stopped playing a couple of years ago. It seems like they added some new lighting effects to the game in the years I've been away, maybe it's just my imagination. I did a custom game setup and doubled the length of all parts of the day night cycle. The game feels better to me with the days progressing more slowly. One of the nice things about Conan Exiles is that the game is EXTREMELY configurable and, so long as I'm playing in single player (which I am) or hosting, I can change options and parameters on the fly.

I'll add to that the Nugs having the luxury of taking the foot off the gas during the home stretch, I mean Jokic essentially stopped playing any defense for the last month of the regular season. They were able to do that because they had built up such a large lead. Meanwhile, a lot of other teams had to scratch and claw just to make sure they even made it into the postseason at all. This is reflected in the playoffs with a rested Jokic playing at an elite level night in night out while AD alternates between looking like one of the best players on planet Earth and no showing. Having to play hard down the stretch isn't doing him any favors right now. -
Triple A publishers keep pushing studios once upon a time known for making good engaging single player games into making multiplayer looter shooters chasing that pot of gold at the end of the Destiny rainbow.

The Dubs team plane must have gotten delayed, I'm still waiting for them to show up for game 6. In the other conference, like a horror movie monster, the Heat just refuse to die. Edit: I hope Boston wins on Sunday only because I find the Bill Simmons podcasts where he loses his mind ranting about the Celtics blowing a game they probably should have won highly entertaining and if they lose on Sunday then we only get 1 more of those podcasts, whereas if they move on the Celtics will inevitably blow several more games they probably should have won and we get that many more of those Bill Simmons podcasts. -
Make sure you use at least one whole tube of paste when you mount the pump again.

I don't much care whether the Lakers or Dubs move on to the conference finals, but I hope both AD and Wiggins are as healthy as possible for tonight's game. I want the better team to move on. -
Proper no. Twelve Irish whisky. It's decent, not much else to say about it. My local ABC Spirits has a rather meager selection of Irish whisky, it was Prop 12, Jameson, or some raw sewage.
