  1. The weird thing about DotA is that it's fun at a low/casual level and I have been told it gets fun again at a very high level, as well as far less toxic (presumably because players at that level truly understand the dynamics of the game and how ludicrously difficult it is). Unfortunately, the middle levels of skill are unbelievably toxic and the grind to get to very high skill level is brutally long and difficult. As with any team game, playing with a group of friends is light years more fun than playing with randos.
  2. Death Come True out on Steam July 17th. https://mobile.twitter.com/DeathComeTrue/status/1279281123076390912 It's already out on iOS, Android, Switch, and PS4.
  3. ^ Is the universe finite, though?
  4. DotA is not for the faint of heart. It can be extraordinarily rewarding, but you need a very high threshold for frustration and a very thick skin.
  5. ^ Deadly_Nightshade, Raithe, and I seem to have similar tastes in mobos. I got the Gigabyte X570 Aorus Master, which is the step between the top of the line Xtreme and mid/high-end Ultra. Honestly, without even knowing the final specs of the Zen 3 chips and what kind of power draw they will have and heat they will put out, the Master is almost certainly much more mobo than I need. I could have gotten the Ultra or even the Elite and the VRM on those would almost certainly be plenty good enough for enthusiast overclocking. What can I say, I couldn't help myself. Enthusiast overclocking with the Master is overkill akin to hunting rabbits with a rocket launcher. For comparison, the Xtreme is hunting rabbits with an air strike.
  6. ^ Fun fact: I actually beat Ninja Gaiden when I was a wee lad. There were a couple of levels in particular that kicked my ass over and over and over again, I think it was 5-2 and 5-3, or something. The damn birds, ugh (birds and bats are always the friggin worst in games). Ghosts'n Goblins, on the other hand, I never even came remotely close to beating. As an extra bonus, that game pulls a super schlong move at the end (a friend of mine beat it) and is like "sike, not actually the end, go through it again."
  7. Hopefully Bethesda are a lot better at developing a television streaming service series than they are at developing games.
  8. Facially, Randal look like a woman with a fake beard glued on.
  9. Welcome to part 2 of Random Musings of a Truck Driver. My series of philosophical and pseudo scientific (at best) ramblings. Last time I talked about time, this time I'm going to talk about nothing. *insert joke about most of my posts being about nothing* Does nothing exist? Is it real or an abstract? For that matter, what even is nothing? When we say "nothing" what are we talking about? You can walk into a room completely devoid of furniture and say that nothing is in the room. Even ignoring that you are in the room, the room still has air in it. Okay, let's say we are talking about a vacuum. So we hop in our trusty space ship and blast off into the solar system, nowhere near any planet, asteroid, or comet. So what's out here, outside the space ship, is that nothing? It may be devoid of matter, but it probably still has some radiation and/or energy. Okay, let's go further into interstellar space, or even intergalactic space, surely out here we can find a pocket of space that is a true hard vacuum, right? For the sake of this thought experiment let's say we do find said hard vacuum, surely this is nothing, right? Well, according to quantum field theory even the vacuum itself has a field and a zero point energy, so isn't that something and if so that means even a hard vacuum isn't "nothing". Can we have nothing anywhere in our universe? Wouldn't there always be, at the very least, spacetime itself and the zero point energy of the vacuum? The next question might be "what about outside the universe"? What is outside the universe or if there even is such a thing as outside the universe goes beyond the scope of this post, so I won't go there (yet?). Even just the concept itself, can nothing, truly nothing, the absence of absolutely everything exist? If there isn't anything at all then how can it exist? So I guess my conclusion is that nothing doesn't exist as anything more than an abstract.
  10. ^ The joke practically wrote itself, I have no idea of how accurate it is. Given the 2 teams quoted, I guessed Packers would have more fan attendance based on recent success and nothing else. For all I know, Bills have abnormally high % of die hard fans.
  11. So, no different than any other recent year.
  12. Happy Birthday, Murica! This should 100% be the national anthem. DO IT YOU COWARDS!
  13. I also had no idea there was a black national anthem. If it's better than the Star Spangled Banner, maybe we should trade for it.
  14. I don't know what that is and won't google it. I'll take your word for it. I have plenty of kinks as is, I'm not in the market for a new one.
  15. I'm starting to order some of the components for my upcoming build. I have the case, PSU, mobo, and some thermal grease ordered. I'm waiting on the CPU cooler to go back into stock. The mobo I picked out has been out of stock (unless you wanted to pay a STOOPID premium) forever. It came back into stock yesterday. I'm glad I ordered it immediately, it's already out of stock again. I'm going to hold off on a SSD for a bit and make a decision between a PCIE4.0 and PCIE3.0 SSD then. CPU, GPU, and RAM will be last.
  16. I finally got the full crew together.
  17. Why is there a safe in the middle of town square? Why is a cannon pointed at it? Why is a cow on a balcony?
  18. I'm fully convinced the authorities are already spying on me via all my electronic devices, or at least have the capability to spy on me, were I worth spying on. That's why I make sure to choke the ol' chicken as much as possible in front of my phone, laptop, and desktop. I have this image of a windowless van parked 200 yards down the road. The back opens up up and a guy enters carrying a box of donuts and 2 coffee cups. "Hey Hank, what's our boy up to?" "Do you even need to ask, Bob? He's beating it." "Again!?" "Yes again. ALWAYS. Dude is always beating it." "He's inhuman." "He's something." "Well, what's his porn of choice this time; gangbang, tentacle hentai, anal? "Lesbian tribbing." "Solid choice."
  19. Not sure yet. I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.
  20. No worries, I've been #Misanthrope4Lyfe for as long as I can remember.
  21. If you pivot to agile development, what kind of value add proposition could you expect? Would this sort of retargeting help you disrupt the status quo and leverage your touchpoints?
  22. I operate under the assumption that undercutting, circumventing, and/or perverting the democratic process is standard procedure for the vast majority of politicians.
  23. ^ Ironically, Batman's mask is useless for our current situation, given that it covers everything except the mouth.
  24. Ryzen 4000 Vermeer chips in B0 Stepping according to Igor's Lab. https://www.igorslab.de/en/ryzen-4000-vermeer-im-b0-stepping-factual-market-ripe-cezanne-with-vega-andvan-gogh-with-navi-one-step-back/ Igor is a well known leaker with a good track record. If true it means that the chips are on the cusp of mass production, as B0 Stepping signifies an essentially finished product getting tested before mass production, similar to a release candidate in software development. If they start mass production soon then Q4, as has long been rumored, seems the likely availability time window.
