That sounds like it should be a Tom Cruise movie.

If you're looking to have your blood boil when a couple of dice rolls screw you over and ruin your game then Blood Bowl is the game for you. Now with extra salt! -

I finished Sal's campaign in Griftlands, which makes all 3 campaigns finished on base difficulty. I get now why that game forces you to play as Sal first (playing as Sal unlocks Rook and playing as Rook unlocks Smith). Playing as Sal the first time was a perfectly fun and enjoyable experience. Going back and playing as Sal after having played Rook and Smith feels like a bit of a letdown because both Rook and Smith are significantly more interesting to play. Negotiations, in particular, are comparatively boring with Sal since she has no unique mechanics. I haven't discovered any particularly good or interesting negotiation cards for Sal either, hopefully I do in the future. Sal is more interesting in battle since she has a unique combo and finisher mechanic. I have some ideas for a combo/finisher deck, but I didn't have the right cards and didn't plan ahead on this most recent run, so I went heavy on bleed and wound, which worked quite well. Both Rook and Smith have unique mechanics for both negotiations and battle. I found Rook to be the most fun in negotiations and Smith to be the most fun in battle. In terms of story Rook has the most intriguing story for my tastes but Smith's story has the most colorful characters and the most fun moments. Things happen is Smith's story that had me grinning from ear to ear. -

I scooped up Assetto Corsa Competizione. I probably won't touch it for a few months, but I plan to get a wheel, shifter, and pedals in the near future and I want a good hardcore racing sim. This series is well regarded, @Mamoulian War seems to be a big fan of the game, though I'm not sure if it's this one or the previous one, it has a gold rating on ProtonDB, so I should be good to go on Linux, plus it was dirt cheap on a Steam sale. -
Finished the Smith campaign on my second try: @HurlshotYou thought 7 people in 4 days was impressive?
-
That's oddly specific... With Smith, I've been building my negotiations deck mainly around hostility cards. I particularly like the Goon card and the Bully card. So essentially I browbeat the person I'm negotiating with while a pack of cronies eggs me on and occasionally smashes up some of their belongings. Eventually, they come around to my line of thinking.

The Nets could conceivably still win the series and the championship without Harden (the team that wins this series is probably winning the title IMHO), but it would obviously be much easier with The Beard. -

At least one of the series went the distance (Clippers vs Mavs). Oddly enough, I believe every game has been won by the road team. So much for home team advantage. -

Your wish is granted. -
I finished Rook's campaign on my first try (MLG Pro gamer confirmed! ) Beating the campaign unlocked a bunch of cards, some outfits, and a prestige level, which I'm assuming is a higher difficulty setting. I wonder if anything changes story-wise in higher prestige levels? Even if nothing does, there are different paths for me to take and different quests to do. Anyway, the Smith campaign is next on the to do list.

^ Holy crap, how does anyone afford to live in California? I'm looking to buy a house vaguely around 1200 sqft with an acre of land or more and I'm looking in the $150K, preferably less, range. In the area I'm looking to move to, essentially the entire NC/TN border on the TN side, that's a realistic proposition.

Holy smokes, those prices. Is that... typical in those areas?

It just hit me that Luka Doncic is only 22, he's still several years away from hitting his prime and he's already a perennial MVP contender. -
There's one in Pineville, which is right next to Charlotte. The store is tiny so the selection is limited, but they have the essentials.

In terms of pickle varieties, I'm partial to Ogórki Małosolne.

My first run with Sal ended at the boss fight at the end of day 4. I started up a run with Rook: I'm really digging Rook's campaign, I'm always a sucker for some double agent action. He plays completely different than Sal. In negotiations he can flip a coin. The act of flipping the coin has an effect itself depending on whether it lands heads or snails *snicker* and many of his cards have modifiers if the coin is facing a certain way, plus you can get different coins. In battle his pistols have a charge mechanic where your charges can be used with certain cards for a variety of effects and any empty chambers at the end of a turn translate into defense. I'm still getting used to all the different cards and mechanics. It will probably take me multiple runs with each character before I have some idea of how I want to build the decks properly, and I haven't even done a run with Smith, the 3rd character, yet.

Somehow, I'm still on my first run (Griftlands is a roguelite). I thought my run was donezo for sure twice, once at the end of day 2 and the other time when I encountered this adorable... Pooch? And her pups. Somehow I survived. If nothing else, I've unlocked a new character to play and some starting upgrades for Sal, the lady I'm currently playing as, so it's been a fruitful run.

I've put about 7 hours into Griftlands so far and I am thoroughly impressed. I've played games from Klei before and they've always been well made games, so I was expecting a quality title, but this has blown my expectations out of the water. The amount of depth in this deck builder is really impressive and I don't know how long this game was in early access, but they polished it to a brilliant shine. There seem to be 3 characters to play, each with their own set of 2 decks to build (negotiation and battle) and their own story campaign. There are tons of characters to meet, each of which you can befriend, piss off, or kill. You get boons and banes from folks you get to really like you or really hate you, which do a variety of things to help or hinder you. You can get grafts which modify how negotiations or battles go. There are tons of cards to collect for each deck. You can upgrade grafts and cards. There are daily challenges, which I haven't tried yet. There's no shortage of content here. Also, the game looks fantastic, but that's to be expected; Klei employs some terrific artists. -
Janosik is a well known folk legend in Poland too. I remember him in movies and TV shows.

I hope Shady got to watch last night's Nugs/Blazers game, because holy smokes that was thrilling. In other news, the defending champs got obliterated and are on the verge of elimination. I don't know what kind of shape AD is in, but they desperately need him to play in game 6. -
Kinda sucks that the just announced APUs are still using Vega graphics. I'll be looking to replace my lappy sometime in the not too distant future and I might replace it with a NUC, miniPC, whatever you want to call it, since I just output to a monitor in my truck anyway, so I don't really need a screen. An APU is conducive to a small form factor device, but Vega graphics ain't gonna cut it for 1440p. AMD is obviously capable of making an APU that can handle 1440p, since the PS5 and xXxBOxXx exist, so hopefully they release an APU with RDNA2 to the public soon.

I've been wanting to play a deck builder for a while. I contemplated getting Slay the Spire on several occasions but never pulled the trigger. Then this came out of early access today: I've generally enjoyed Klei's games in the past and I always like their art style so I took the plunge. I only just started but it's pretty fun so far. You run 2 decks at once, a negotiation deck and a battle deck. Negotiations and battles boil down to essentially the same thing, but you have different abilities in each deck.
