  1. Shin Megami Tensei 3: Nocturne Remaster I'm naming the characters after Aliens characters: Ellen Ripley Lieutenant Gorman Private Vasquez The main character is Corporal Hicks.
  2. I'm starting up Shin Megami Tensei 3: Nocturne Remaster. Let's get the cons out of the way first. This is a relatively barebones remaster. I will say this, the upscaled graphics look pretty good, everything is smooth and sharp. By comparison, the movies look hilariously low res. But that's all they did as far as I can tell. There are no added effects, no depth of field, volumetric fog, etc. It's been a long time, but I haven't noticed any quality of life improvements either. They upscaled the existing graphics and made the game work on modern systems, that's all. On the positive side, it's still SMT3: Nocturne. This game is still awesome. Just the fact that I'm playing a MegaTen game on PC and it's not via emulation feels pretty great. Hopefully this leads to other MegaTen games getting ported to PC, even if they're only barebones remasters like this. This remaster includes all the different editions of the game (as DLCs because of course), I'm playing the Chronicle version, since I never got to play that back in the day. Quick history lesson: A year after the game released on PS2 in Japan they released a director's cut called Maniax which included content cut from the original release plus some added stuff, including a cameo by Dante from Devil May Cry. This is the version that eventually made its way to North America. Later they released another version called Chronicle where Dante was replaced by Raidou from the Devil Summoner spinoffs. That version was only released in Japan, until now. I'm starting the game on hard difficulty. I may (read: probably will) regret that, MegaTen games aren't exactly known for being easy. In fact, they added a merciful difficulty for the remaster so that filthy cazhuls could play the game without having their egos bruised too much (I keed I keed, play how you want). The good news is that I can change difficulty at any time, so I won't have to start over if I wuss out and drop the difficulty to normal.
  3. Sorry Shady, but you can pretty much stick a fork in the Nugs (and then dip them in Polynesian sauce).
  4. Surviving Mars free on Humble Bundle for the next few days, you just need to sign up for their newsletter.
  5. Someone needs to come up with another stupid gaming hardware gimmick so that we can get another hilariously cringe presentation like the good ol' "my body is ready" or anything Kinect related.
  6. Miranda's Ass Shaped Soap. "We took it out of the game so that you can rub it on your body".
  7. Wait, what? Also, did they say who is developing the new Painkiller? Also also, I always assumed Koch was pronounced like "cook".
  8. It got a little dicey there, but it does look like the Bucks are going to try to make this a series. To me, any Cardinals not from St Louis just sounds wrong. It could be Arizona, Phoenix Saskatoon, whatever; as soon as I hear "Cardinals" my mind immediately thinks St Louis.
  9. I'm convinced that even if the vaccine gave me a superpower, it would be a really lame one. I'd get Jubilee's powers. Wow, I can shoot fireworks, whoopee! On the bright side, I'd be great a parties. I would probably get invited to barbecues a lot.
  10. I was a big fan of Kevin Johnson back in the day, I've liked the Suns ever since.
  11. I'll be cheering for the Suns even before the Bucks and Nugs are eliminated. /hides
  12. Valheim devs gave an update in a Steam post. The gist is that the admit being overwhelmed be the number of players, which is understandable, and that Hearth & Home is expected Q3 2021.
  13. @rjshaeHow are things up in the Pacific Northwest? In the Southeast and Midwest things are essentially back to normal. You still see some people wearing masks, but the mandate is gone and all businesses are open AFAIK.
  14. I bought tickets to go see AEW in Charlotte in late July. I'm so excited to see a live rasslin' show again!
  15. Having a well known fantasy author attached to a vidya game project is no guarantee it will be good or successful (see also: Amalur, Kingdoms of).
  16. I haven't felt any compulsion to pledge my undying loyalty to Bill Gates yet, but I figure they're just waiting for maximum adoption before turning the microchips on.
  17. The Nugs better figure out something with the quickness, because CP3 and the Suns are picking them apart.
  18. I've been playing the Smith campaign in Griftlands on prestige level 1 and it's a significant step up from base difficulty. Even with perks I unlocked that made my character objectively stronger than my first go round, it took me 3 tries just to get past day 1. I have some cool deck ideas but realistically I need to get to day 3 to get all the cards I need to truly implement said ideas. That's the thing with a deck builder, theory crafting is all well and good, but you still have to get the cards.
  19. PS2? AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I owned an Atari 2600. Also, my friend had a ColecoVision. Edit: I owned a copy of the infamous E.T. It was terrible, but there were plenty of games on the 2600 just as crap. Missile Command was awesome, though. Defender was pretty good too.
  20. I played my character in Elex as pragmatic as possible. I wanted to shoot laser guns and the Clerics had the tech, ergo I made nice with them.
  21. ^ Is there a spiffy name for Wisconsin's potential tragedy up in cheese country? Rodgersgate? The Great Green Bay Betrayal? Packer Crisis 21?
  22. Dice rolls have been part of vidya games forever, it's just that a lot of games obscure them. Blood Bowl is a faithful adaptation of a tabletop game so you can watch the (virtual) dice screw you right before your eyes, which somehow makes it hurt worse. In reality, it's no different than getting shafted on a "90%" accuracy shot in XCOM.
  23. I never had that issue. The refrigerator melting down to a lump of goo did make getting food from it less appealing, though.
