You got me there! I mean, I have enjoyed him since Doom came out decades ago, but in this game, that sweet over-and-under feels like necessity.
-
And I've suddenly taken an aversion to lav rolls, while at the same developing a twisted love towards shot gun pump action, coz I loathe me some phantoms.

Indeed, I'm a GMG VIP since a couple of years back, and this time I got Prey for 31 something quid. Steam said 59.99 Euro. Why pay too much for new digital stuff?
-
I failed. Haha! One pretty unique feature that never gets old in this new Prey is your newly acquired fear of anything inanimate, like a crumpled note or a broken bracket. You get to distrust your environment big time and perceive any hint at motion as a potential threat.

I'm playing Prey too. I'd forgotten that it would be released yesterday, but as soon as I realized that I went ahead (going in blind - reading no reviews) and bought myself a copy (Hey, I mean, it's Arkane Studios, the makers of my beloved Dishonored). I'm like 3h into the game, and I'm having a blast. There's a lot of explorative freedom, and it has a nice twisted atmosphere. My daughter's really into zombie games and such, so we're playing it together, taking turns at the helm, as it were. It's almost old school, a throwback to 80's and 90's space exploration games. She's great at garnering clues too, btw, and cracked a safe code early on pretty easily (my eyesight sucks). We're enjoying it quite a lot. It's not Dishonored quality, but Prey's decently entertaining, no less. 3.8 out of 5 in overall marks from me.

Oh...I see. Well...nix that, I guess. Wait, uhm, does that many trinkets are class-specific? All of them? Yeah, more or less. That's why I changed my vote yet again. First I picked a weapon and went for Obsidian as a prominent material for it. But then, I reckoned trinket would be cool, till I realized they were class-specific, so now I definitely go for something more visually appealing and hopefully BiB-characteristic: a hat! That godlikes can't used doesn't matter much, since most playthroughs will be with non-godlike chars for players, no? Therefore, I decided to drop the Obsidian material requirement too. Make it of whichever material, just make it dastardly Black-Isle-Bastards-cool! And who can throw a glance at Fluffle's pirate avatar and not like that kind of fab tricorn?

Let me transcribe that into the Roman alphabet: "A-pain-ya-know."

@JFSOCC: Just reading these few threads of yours makes me pretty happy. I remember plenty of your threads and posts most fondly. I'm just glad that I get to read a few more. Welcome back, and I do hope you're gonna enjoy PoE2 next year. And yes, a humongous YES, to there are more quest types than those few proposed. I do agree with you that RPGs, and CRPGs in particular, need to diversify their quest structuring, and the best way to start is to build a solid foundation in numerous, intricate and interlinked story threads. Time-consuming, but certainly worthwhile, if we want to avoid too many simple fetch quests.

I so wish this would be like a craftable fine bastard sword, but with one additional effect (given how chastened and battle-worn we Black Isle Bastards are): Obsidian Bastard Sword: User immune to poison/disease effects. Here's a list of monsters I dug up which would be affected: Monsters whose normal attacks have an additional effect that counts as Poison/Disease Crystal Eater Crystal Eater Spiderling Disease Pudding Gul Ice Troll Ivory Spiderling Ivory Spinner Menpwgra Pwgra Skuldr Spider Queen Troll Vithrack Vithrack Exarch Wicht Widowmaker Spiderling Widowmaker Wood Beetle Monsters who have a special ability that counts as Poison/Disease (ability name listed in brackets) Corrupted Druids (Touch of Rot) Dank Spore / Giant Dank Spore / Swamp Spore (Spore Disease) Dargul (Weakening Rend) Lagufaeth (Blowgun) Menpwgra (Spreading Plague) Spider Queen (Binding Web; her Binding Web differs from the normal one in that it adds a Raw DoT effect) Hmm, perhaps, it would be too powerful, hehe.

From the last Twitch stream: https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/92027-deadfire-qa-twitch-stream-with-josh-sawyer-and-lead-artist-kaz-aruga/?p=1900852 Josh confirmed that there will be a Druid Shapeshifter subclass, where you can be in your shapeshift form for the entire length of any combat encounter. Great news!

Come now, you could make your point somewhat more dispassionately . Can I give it a shot? I come here to talk about the game, not to read strangers' opinions about what career, relationship, and childbearing choices make people of my general group happy. Posts about gender and stats are at least somewhat relevant to the game. Several long digressions have not been, seem terribly out of place, and probably shut some people out of the conversation rather than advancing it. Agreed, these long harangues about women in a number of posts now, and over a few days, are simply regurgitation, a bizarre ceterum censeo, which has no place here whatsoever. Not even the off-topic section would stomach such discussions for very long. Please stay on topic and the theme of the thread.

Alright! This thread-necroing takes the cake! Over 12 years!!! I'm just stunned. Well, it's cool to see that Volourn hasn't changed one bit. Pretty consistent, if you ask me. And Oerwinde was just as nice-looking as he is now. Now, let's put this lich back into the tomb of horrors.
