  1. Pandamaniac: I'll be happy to oblige, just confirm that you want me to do so. All: It's less than 12 hours to go, and I just want to clarify something: People's contributions don't need to get below the required number of characters at this point. You'll get a brief window, where you get to adjust it to the needed length (like I did).
  2. Sure, Khalil! These two get to be entries then. The others were too blatant in their anachronism, so to speak.
  3. I've got a feeling that the "newer" classes are more popular among the devs, such as the Cipher and the Chanter, or perhaps their slightly novel take on Rogue.
  4. Right now, Steam has a big sale on Expedition: Conquistador, a great CRPG. You'll get it practically for free, and it's worth much more than that! Go get it, if you don't own it already!
  5. Just a heads up: There are exactly 24 hours till the time is up and another fellow forum member gets selected as a Memorial Stone poet. Good luck!
  6. Day 1 purchase for me too! That arcade game nearly ruined me, and funny thing is, those monsters just kept on coming, and do I need to mention It?
  7. There is: Divinity of Original Sin, with a complete toolset! I will definitely give it a whirl when it's released in a couple of months.
  8. I've tried to compile all the poems so far that are in the running for the second Memorial Stone. However, quite a few of them are still too long. It turns out that 185 characters, including spaces and something like 8 returns, is the real limit. Also, the title of the poem, if any, should be like 40 characters, tops. So, wrap your masterpieces in shrink wrap, folks! A few more poems above would definitely be candidates in this thread if they didn't include "dyslexic" or "pantaloons".
  9. I had the honour to play with Monte Carlo today, as I sorely needed help beating a co-op scenario, the Khalach Pincer. It went well, mostly thanks to the true MC around here! (Not me, not MCA, who could that be?) Here are two screenies: First one as I approach the final bridge that needs to be taken -this is my medium tank storm... And here we have the bridge, or what's left of it, two seconds before final victory: Heaps of thanks for a good time, MC!
  10. I just learnt it the hard way how short those 200 characters are. I had to truncate mine a bit at the beginning to get everything in. So, yes, they do count spaces and returns, so use Word or a similar program to count the characters before submitting. It's a challenge, but it's a fun and most doable one!
  11. SqueakyCat: Then, the 19th, it is. Silent Winter: Thank you for that beautiful poem! However, like SqueakyCat just reminded us, it needs to be pretty short, especially if you include spaces. My poem was pretty lengthy vis-à-vis the scope requirements. So if you can, boil it down even further without watering it down, as it were! Hassat Hunter: In keeping can be a poem that fits a standard adventure RPG setting, anything along those lines, suffices! I'm just hoping to avoid blatant anachronisms and jokes and such that come across as perhaps too much here and now. All poems submitted so far that meet the requirements are still in the running to become a text on one coveted Memorial Stone.
  12. Pandamaniac: No Flanders bashing, it is! *There's always room for one more Flanders!* SqueakyCat: It'll be an honour to carry the curse you've passed on to me! I'll stick with your format and your thread, but I'll change one of the conditions so that whatever text or poem is in keeping with the lore and the setting of Pillars of Eternity. Obviously, a very clever hint or two about some interesting forum debate could perhaps pass just fine. But ,first and foremost, I'd love to see works that pick up on details we've been given so far during the KS, in the updates, or elsewhere. I'll also take the liberty of setting a deadline to March 19, say at 1900 hours CET, if that works for you SqueakyCat. So, please post your submission here and I will pick the one I deem the fittest for an honorary memorial stone. Have fun, and keep the creative juices flowing! Pandamaniac: If you think it's a good idea, you could use the same deadlines and conditions as the ones I just delineated? However, I'd love to see somebody else pick the second candidate, either you or somebody of your choosing. However, if you decline and nobody steps forward, I can take it upon me to select two candidates.
  13. I've already written you a PM, saying the same thing, but I'll reiterate a bit of it here: Thank you ever so much! I just wanted to write something that was in keeping with the PE setting, and since I adore Orlans, it's no surprise that I focussed my little poem on one of them. I researched what little there was, and I found the fate of wild Orlans engaging. They excelled in the use of poisons and traps, and there you have it! It's always nice to be able to expand Pillars of Eternity, however minutely!
  14. British NATS have just made a video that shows one day of flying in Europe last summer, and holy cow! Obviously, we fly a lot, and that means a massive amount of planes in the air at any given time. Given that planes almost crash once in a blue moon, I must say flying feels a bit safer now. Just watch the video in the NATS blog that I link here (I didn't know how to embed it here). It's beautiful and mind-blowing! http://nats.aero/blog/2014/03/europe-24-air-traffic-data-visualisation/
  15. Agreed. I wanna see it all! But the future is especially alluring. I'd love to sample it, 100 years ahead from now, 200, 500, 1,000, 10,000, 50,000...
  16. I agree. Take COH2 as an example. I was an absolute beginner in the RTS genre, and without the SP campaigns and the theatres of war, I would have stood zero chance when I tried my hand at some MP. Still, after something like 80 hours, I mostly play the great SP campaigns in COH2, and I still consider myself as a noob. That kind of noob hotbed seems sorely needed in a game like Titanfall.
  17. Finally lvl 60 now with my hardcore monk! Phew! I restarted at Hard difficulty story mode, and all went well, until I reached about level 56. Then the monsters were getting harder and harder, especially the elites. At level 57 I entered one of the tombs in the woods beyond the drowned temple, and I almost died. It had affixes from hell, and I had no ND passive yet. A quick swig saved me as I stumbled down the stairs to heal up by beating lots of skellies to death, and then I went up and finished that huge yellow skellie conjurer off once and for all. Last time around, the scariest parts were in no particular order: Belial, the hard-hitting ogre by the bridge before Magda's hideout, the exploding fire maniacs in one of those storm halls, and those waves of poisonous self-detonating pixies in the keep in Act 3. That freeze-lock demon that once was the arch-angel's lieutenant was also a nervous thing to deal with, along with those hard-hitting quadrupeds in Act 4.
  18. JFSOCC: Thanks for the link and the hilarious review! He's really spot on and wittingly cruel about it too. I have no idea how he can speak faster than Busta Rhymes, but he does! :D
  19. I also prefer Alien over Aliens! If you missed this KS Keyrock, give it a try when it comes out, it sure looks the part so far: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/bischoff/stasis-2d-isometric-scifi-horror-adventure-game
  20. Haha, for some reason, this comment made me think of this: ]http://youtu.be/r-UA7sv4QbU?t=28s How's that for lolocopter oatmeal-moped with a shiny knight straddled on top?
  21. Hehe, made me laugh. Such is the fate of most MMO's. Not that I've played many. For some reason I liked WoW when it first came out and played that (by my lonesome...) for a long time. Tried a few others, didn't like any of them. Like Keyrock I played NW:Online for some months but now don't care. I tend to like the open-world MMO's for exploring and such, but after that ... so far it's felt like once you played one, there isn't any reason to play another. At best, they're fun in that Diablo-like way. And in terms of playing with random strangers on the 'net, I think I had more fun via Diablo2 group monster bashing then any "MMO" I've tried. LadyCrimson summed up nicely my view on this, Monte! I tried LotR for a month, but got tired of it. I played GW1 and seized after two days. My absolutely best MMO experiences comes from dedicated servers for NWN 1-made D&D content. They were far superior to anything else since then, it's almost not funny anymore.
  22. That would seem for the best, yeah? I mean, they are so few and basically the Pillars of Community.
  23. That borders on insult to us Dishonored-fans, since Dishonored offers a protagonist agile and powerful enough to roam the city whichever way he prefers. He can climb and jump and whatnot as he sees fit. Thief 4 is, well, Thief 4.
  24. Oh man, that sucks big time! I've been playing for a couple of hours today on hardcore, in the same clan and all, but at that very moment I had lunch and did some work stuff. I've never experienced a wipe before. *Shiver* Perhaps a weird transition here, but I finally killed Diablo on hardcore (hard difficulty) for the very first time! :D It felt great, as I was very nervous. And kirottu was kind enough to jump in and be my guardian when I was about to take on Belial, since I got cold feet. A big thank you, kirottu! Also, Endrosz, helped me out taking my first trembling steps in Act I, and he also gave me the tip to pick Hard difficulty, so I owe him plenty too. Thank you, clan of Obsidian Europe!! I wouldn't have made it without you. I'm at lvl 53 now, so my next goal is of course to reach level 60 and unlock Torment difficulty. I play a monk, btw, since Hiro's tip earlier on made it seem the safest choice for beating hardcore in D3 now. Yay!
