Obviously a wild guess and something of a joke, but yeah, well, I meant, see if you can spot him.

Here's one composer that I can recommend: Cris Velasco. He's composed the music for COH2, God of War, and for this game, which has some really beautiful music: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3YCRxdJmkBE

Interesting photo: Have fun with this: -Spot the government agent. -One guy in the audience is too short, and needs to be on his toes to see the action. -And I'm pretty sure this woman isn't the one Bono thought of when he sang "She wore lemon...".

To me, if you have quite distinct classes from the get-go (which seems to be very promising right now), where attribute distribution and choice of talents let you make them diverse as soon as you begin creating your character, and then the game provides with a big, fantastic toolbox with sub-boxes inside for each class, where you get to rummage around and tinker a lot, then the devs have done their job for a CRPG like this.

With over 200 votes in the poll now, the standings are like this: -44% wishes to see combat xp or very fine-grained xp (per encounter, per successful action) -29% wants quest xp or at least wide-berth objective xp -27% are sticking to some middle-ground, with exploration xp and objective xp per dungeon and such.

Come again? What is this? Kindergarten? "Everybody gets a lolly! Don't you worry, child."

If possible, I'd love to try out the same systems in turn-based format. I don't how realistic that wish is though. Still, it should be possible to create some sort of turns that regulate combats, and sneak checks, persistent damage from stuff like bleeding etc. I've also always liked initiative paired with weapon speed in a turns system.

I normally start my CRPGs with a ranger, but given the traits of the ranger in this game, I'm actually planning on having a ranged fighter as my first pc - so this is something that I'd love to see get some more love.

Suggestion: Finer-grained XP rewards
IndiraLightfoot replied to PrimeJunta's topic in Backer Beta Discussion
Plenty of good points, I hope that Josh & Co are already on the same page, and if not, that they take notes! EDIT: Btw, this thread is great consolation for me, since we get to discuss here how objective xp could work to accommodate all kinds of playstyles and still feel rewarding. We're on a salvage mission (at least if the xp system in the beta build we have at hand is anything to go by). However, I would be ecstatic if OE posted something about what their goals are for the xp system, and the issues they are having with it at the moment. -

Answermancer: Perhaps I misunderstood. I had no idea you meant that your pc/party would get stuck from the issue you brought up. When you say "the level the game expects", do you truly mean that all progress needs to follow exactly the same pace, following the quest thresholds? -

Answermancer: Not to shock you or anything, but I approve 100% of games cutting you out over the course of the game, and in all kinds of ways - I'm very free-spirited that way, since I am an avid replayer for starters (if the game is good enough): -Areas that are hard to reach, and just for a section in the game, or perhaps even with the help of a certain class? Yes, please! -Quest options only available if you pick certain convo choices? Gimme, gimme, gimme! -Secrets that are very, very easy to miss. Let them rain down on me! -Slightly unbalanced classes and skill/talent systems that can be "meta-gamed" into better, unexpected, fun stuff with a bit of practice? Luv it! -Xp not perfectly the same for every character in every person's playthrough? I'd expect nothing less! -

Answermancer: PJ's point is most valid. Please improve your system so that it accommodates for rewarding diligence, extreme curiosity and other kinds of challenge seeking. PJ: Well, how about Delayed Experience Points, then, like in Delayed Blast Fireball? -

morhilane: That makes sense, but then the name of them, "Experience Points," doesn't. I reckon, I'll refer to them as QP from here on: Quest Points. I need to think of Poe as a narrative game from now on, PoE as an adventure game, a bit like Tex Murphy and the Tesla Effect - you get to talk to some NPCs, collect some stuff (Comic Books), tote a few weapons (guns), solve some puzzles (crack a safe code, move some statues)). -
The General Suggestions Thread
IndiraLightfoot replied to Rosbjerg's topic in Backer Beta Discussion
Yeah! You'd think that just even the faint possibility of not getting rewarded for taking on the challenges and content in the game would be much more upsetting, causing an uproar, even. The attribute system (as long as they keep the six ones they've been building stuff on) is easy to adjust and pales in comparison to the efforts any changes towards fine-meshing very rare quest xp (once or twice in an hour, provided that you do follow quest lines) will take.- 290 replies

Suggestion: Finer-grained XP rewards
IndiraLightfoot replied to PrimeJunta's topic in Backer Beta Discussion
Yes, please! I'll settle for scraps right now. Any step closer to something rewarding you regularly and cleverly, when taking on the numerous challenges and interacting with NPCs, areas and items, is more than welcome - even a bare-bone system in the next patch. -
Thats not what that means.. it means he doesn't want to give a direct answer because it's probably not his call and you could use the quote against him if it was later changed. All he said was what has already been said. When the game comes out you are free to mod it as you wish. He is basically saying, no you can't mod the game before it is released.. and I am ignoring the other part of your question about xp. That doesn't mean they are debating or even thinking of changing anything.. but your interpreting beyond what was said in that message. That sounds a bit more hopeful. I would be hard-pressed to interpret it as there's still hope for combat xp, lock xp, trap xp, and that kind of fine-grained xp system, but you could be right that they are certainly discussing ways to do objectives in much finer increments, for instance!

I can certain relate to that! However, I do have married friends, for instance, in their thirties all the way to the fifties, where the wives play online games like WoW, LoL and D3, for instance. This is probably still rare, and the fact that they do certainly explains why they are my friends in the first place. It's much more fun going to one of them couple dinners/parties, and discussing Whirlwind barbarians or ganking at times.
