  1. One of the Geneforges or Avernums. Don't make me pick! They're all so good. Alright fine. Avernum 6. Man, that's a tough choice.
  2. Od Nua is supposed to be completely optional (last I heard), and simply a test of skill, ability, and endurance if your party chooses to brave the depths. You wont be forced to tackle the dungeon of doom, it'll just be there, out there, waiting, taunting you with fifteen levels of delicious loot and jaw-dropping scenery*. But you can certainly pass it by and simply stick to the plot, or craft the perfect sword, or whatever else strikes your fancy. That's the beauty of it! *Based on the single PE screenshot provided so far.
  3. I'm fine with romance as long as it is well written, and not overbearing. It should be something the player can choose to engage in, not forced down the player's throat. Cutscenes are probably out for PE because of the sheer expense (also, they tend to just feel weird). Questlines are… fine if done in moderation. I prefer just a line here or there sprinkled throughout the game. Intra-party relationships (alliances, friendships, hostilities) not involving the player, or only cursory involving the player are also very interesting and something that tends to get overlooked. Not everyone is going to get along with each other. And some may become friends just because they hate the same person. Resolution can be covered with just a line or two in the epilogue end-text. Possibly the worst romance I have ever seen is whinyboy Carth Onasi in KOTOR1, "I think I could love you" because, oh baby, that's the kind of commitment a woman wants to hear after all that effort *eyeroll*.
  4. Forgotten, chained god, locked away from the eyes of man for crimes too horrifying to speak of. Can you imagine walking by his head and suddenly he blinks? Or starts talking to you with a voice that sounds of dreams turned to dust and gravel? Yes, I am definitely looking forward to exploring this dungeon.
  5. It adds replay value. Instead of the exact same dialogue for every run through, you can create new people to go on your mad harebrained schemes. No, they probably won't have any lines (it would be incredible if they did), but I personally wouldn't want to just use an editor for the given companions. What would be the point in editing say the fighter companion into a druid (because you really want two or three, or a DOZEN druids ) when he will still sound and behave exactly like a fighter? Plus it gives you a chance to ditch any really annoying companion which is always a fantastic option, and replace them with someone you want. Win win!
  6. This, all of this. I love playing Lawful Evil, probably my favorite game for an evil character has to be KOTOR. The problem with playing evil is most times it just feels like losing. It always seems like, oh you're evil, okay slaughter a whole bunch of people for no reason. No! I want to reward those who are loyal to me and build my power base, not kill them senselessly. I want to engage in propaganda campaigns and make people think -I'm the good guy- and I am doing what is best for the people. I want to abuse obscure laws to bring opposing orders down. Anddd… I think I lost my train of thought somewhere. Regardless, I fully support multiple ways to finish quests. That don't penalize you simply for employing… less savory means of completion. I am looking forward to a no-alignment system, hopefully this will give everyone the freedom to do what they wish while still allowing the player to experience and interact with different viewpoints from the various factions. *cough* Manipulation! Intrigue! *cough*
  7. I have to say, my favorite party member in NWN 2 was Bishop. Especially because of what happened during the seige.
  8. I -really- like the new rounded cuirass. The neck strap for the shield is a little odd (mostly because I imagine someone yanking on it from behind, gurk!) but overall I really like the armour design.
  9. Personally I think Two Worlds II handled lockpicking the best. Very fun, and slightly challenging minigame that became far easier with more skill points.
  10. Alright, you got me. Bumped my pledge by $8. I'd like to be Melhelix - Obstinate Scribe of the Obsidian Order
