  1. Add this one too. https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/73785-bugs-damage-over-time-issues/ <-- Having high int actually decreases DPS of your dots! I think by that logic having below 10 int would increase the dps of your dots.
  2. I think you could implement that pretty easily. Just load up whatever stats the companion is supposed to have and reset him at the appropriate level. I mean code-wise it shouldn't be hard with a silly workaround. Maybe reset talents/skills as well while they're at it.
  3. https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/73785-bugs-damage-over-time-issues/ There's the thread with practical examples. I wonder would grazes actually increase the dps? That's just silly. (i'm not sure how actually grazes work just that duration is reduced by 50%) Also having 9 or lower INT would be beneficial in some cases?
  4. Add the one where if you pull enemies and run some of them stay behind. It's really disgusting.
  5. The weirder bug is the one where having higher int reduces the overall dmg of your dots. How did that ever get through.
  6. Not saving in the area you got the companion might help but people still report that saving in certain open areas will nevertheless trigger the bug. Also don't forget that your HP might randomly raise, which doesn't seem to be tied to items/spells as there's no +hp affixes even.
  7. No, I don't think so. I went through all my spells/abilities/items. I have nothing that would actually add HP. Kana does have the triage talent which restores some health, but I remember having high amount of HP before recruiting him. I think I had around 400HP at level 2. The only thing that I can think of that is monk specific is the wound mechanic. Basically you receive "wound" points after you lose HP. Maybe that somehow bugs out the health. Also Insolentius who else reported this bug? I can't find anything. The only other mention is by McPartyson in this thread, his Edér has 827 HP at level 3. Check the previous page, one of the first posts. I don't think this HP bug is the same thing as the stat stacking one.
  8. Did you have any +int gear on your PC to get 34 int? Because that's connected to the bug somehow. But check my monk PC's health, I have no +health gear. I don't even know if it exists. (I do have a +1 CON item, but that would have to increase endurance as well...)
  9. You're kinda right, most games have this. But it's very very abusable here. If you have a chanter I think you can do this with all enemies. Without one I think only wildlife can get to you fast, so wolves lions and boars.
  10. Wouldn't be an Obsidian game without these kinds of bugs! This seems to spread out throughout all stats, I hope when the patch comes the changes will be retroactive but it seems it would quite hard to do that. I'm playing PotD and having Kana have like 6 more int than he's supposed to, Eder having like 20-30 more deflection than was intended and my monk having like 500 more HP feels like cheating. edit: I'd like to point out that the bugged stats seem to always be related to what have you equipped. So kana gets additional int because he has a hat of +1. Here's the tricky part, why does my monk keep getting HP if he has no items that give +HP?
  11. Basically if you pull a pack of enemies and then run back for a while, there's a high chance that most of them will run back to their original spot while those that you attacked follow you. Also another similar bug is that if you pull they will eventually stop chasing you and go back, if you get into their "aggro range" again they'll re-engage. This is most easily seen when fighting forest lurkers as they are slow and prone to kiting. If you place 2-3 characters spread out and have the forest lurker between them he'll just switch targets and never really do anything. Would be nice to hear if someone has had similar experience with this pathfinding/AI.
  12. Guys I don't think only companions suffer from this. I have a level 5 monk with 15 constitution(+1 from item). He has I think ~105 endurance which is fine but he has 1000+ HP! For comparison my Edér has 17 or 18 CON and like ~600HP. Also I have like 24 int on Kana...
  13. There are good voice actors who don't charge much. Witcher 2 in my opinion did good with VO, but that's a whole different style of a RPG. You're basically playing a game where the main character isn't you, but already an established person with history and such..so it was fitting to have VO there. Main character shouldn't have voice AT ALL. It takes too much away from imagination and building your own character. Companions should probably have some lines, and other important NPCs as well. But only a couple as to capture their essence. Irenicus in BG2 is the prime example of this. Less is more!
  14. As long as Fiend Slayer's Super Plate Armor +5 isn't a bikini, I'm fine with everything else.
  15. 20. Favorite overall rpg: BG2 best story/characters: PS:T open world RPG: wizardry 7 System Shock 2 for being an epic fps/rpg mix.
  16. Man it's so hard to pick, damn. I really like Jeremy Soule/Mark Morgan/Inon Zur. Mark Morgan's music just feels so unique, otherwordly - it was so very fitting in PS:T. Jeremy Soule really gets into the setting, the characters and the feel of the game before commiting to any composition. Inon Zur's way of making epic music is quite unique as well, he usually does it after the product is already done. For all it's many flaws DA:O's music was really well done. The use of orchestra and choir was astonishing! There's also Michael Hoenig of course, who in my opinion made the best game OST, BG2's main theme.
  17. If they're gonna stay true to IE games then being solo in itself is actually a boon. Eventually when you beat early game your character will accumulate enough xp to overpower anything. It's still a challenge of course, but most of the time BG2 solo seemed easier. Not that I encourage it, but cheesing was easier as well due to just use one character to the fullest. Of course this is only true gameplay-wise, being solo usually means you don't get the cool party banter and less quests.
  18. I don't mind half-breeds, the offspring being sterile I think is the best choice if they're gonna make them. Btw, how does Forgotten Realms deal with this? or any DND world? Can anybody just mix in? Quarter fiend/dragon/elf/human?
  19. BG2 did it the best. Usually greetings and such were voice-acted, and the most important NPCs were usually fully voice-acted. As it has been noted by others on the forum, the more voice acting you have the less you can use your imagination. Minsc's level of voice acting was perfect. PS:T's level of voice acting was a tad low, I don't really mind but there were only a few lines spoken there. Also to note is that getting good voice actors costs a lot unfortunately :/ One voice actor I would LOVE to hear is Glynnis Talken Campbell, she voice acted Kerrigan in SC1 and had such a strong female voice... she would probably also be super cheap. Will be disappointed if there's no David Warner as well, Jim Cummings and Jennifer Hale would be a big plus!
  20. Why's everyone against the idea of the cliché pirate, yarr? Originality isn't always good I find. What I would like to see is having a ship and having ship-related quests. Kinda like a moving player haven, would be interesting.
  21. I feel like in recent years developers are pushed by the community to include LGBT characters in their games. Look at ME3 for example, it's done so poorly and works forced. Putting homosexual characters in for the sake of having them is just stupid and silly, and so far no game has done it well. Hope it's not the same for PE.
  22. Major plot changes due to choices are most of the time unfeasible, but side quests and such are perfectly fine. BG2 had plenty of such, one of the first is when you choose to work for Shadow Thieves or for Bodhi. Both ways get you to the same destination, but you get to do things in a different manner and there's specific information to be found for the organization that you work with. Most evil PCs in cRPGs are just chaotic evil, it's easier to design. Making an elaborate schemer would just be another kind of evil, "chaotic evil" is the standard baddy and that's probably why we see it the most.
  23. I don't know why would you need to be so invested in rules for the IE games when they were just adaptions for a PC game and because of that were different. The real-time component made sure most spells used just differently, kiting was powerful as well. For me personally, I would just like to see simple information and dig out the detailed stuff my self.
  24. I don't really have any preference but it would be super fun if we wouldn't have a map at all, and would have to construct one ourselves. Or maybe such just a specific area. This would only make sense if map would be a big factor in the gameplay but still, I really loved the old cRPGs like Wizardry where you didn't really have a coherent map.
  25. There would have to be some substance to include a transgender option. I could only see some NPC being in such a role and not the PC. If you're male->female you pick a female, and vice versa.
