  1. That's ok, I really hate having to play a guy (I'm looking at you PS:T / TW / AP). We all have our battles.
  2. Same here, it's only the flu but pretty darn annoying still.
  3. A question for Obsidian: do you prefer we pledge on Kickstarter or Paypal? Paypal takes a smaller cut from the final amount but perhaps you prefer Kickstarter for publicity reasons or something else. For me it makes no difference, it would be a small matter of transferring my pledge to Paypal. Sorry for posting this in a separate thread but I'm afraid it will be overlooked otherwise.

  5. They've already stated they won't do full voice overs since it's too expensive for this project, it limits the dialogue options and makes editing difficult for the writers. As for my personal opinion on full voice overs: burn it with fire! But that's just me
  6. It's buried somewhere in the update #24 thread. If you really want to know I'd suggest reading the entire thread since everything we tell you will most likely be biased in some way. Oooo I remember reading that mess.....the whole "what if we get no game and the budget is ruined" discussion that escalated into talks of lawsuits and fraud and so on. I found it quite out of place and distasteful myself to be honest. I have complete faith in Obsidian's ability to deliver. Errr, no. It had to do with xp for objectives that Obsidian is thinking of implementing vs xp for kills as in the old IE games, as well as the ideas about the stamina/health system.

  8. I have no idea what kerfuffles is. I think I'll keep it that way.
  9. Let's not blow this out of proportion. It was one person, no need for all the attention.
  10. They've specifically asked for stretch goal ideas on Twitter last night Regarding dlux: personally I don't like high-profile rage quits, i see it as emotional blackmail. That's more than enough said on the subject.
  11. possibly an unpopular opinion, but definitely one that will pay off in the long run and prevent butthurt on release day....i support htis course of action. I'm convinced that they're aware of the buggy-ness (is that a word?) of some of their previous titles and will do their best to prevent this without it being a stretch goal. A lot is riding on this game for both them and us.
  12. You could be rewarded by weapon upgrades, finding a spell scroll for your mage to learn, craft components, additional dialogue, getting a feeling for the massiveness of the world created, finding eastereggs, etc.
  13. Honestly why all the fuss? Look at the direction RPGs have been going the past years and then tell me you would really considering withdrawing your pledge because of combat xp. The RPG genre is in a world of trouble right now and the last thing it needs is bickering about mechanics. I really don't want to see Dragon Age MCMXLIII.

  15. 1. origin stories for more replay value of the game 2. extensive missions with things like stealth assassinations, dodging bounty hunters that are after your head, daring escapes from prison 3. romances that are written for a female PC and not a recycled male/female/robot/duck/can-be-used-for-anything romance. bonus goal: a giant-space-hamster-on-a-stick
  16. Thank you for that I'll switch over to Paypal once all the reward tiers are finalized tomorrow!
  17. Wait up! I was under the impression that both Kickstarter and Paypal take a percentage of the donations. Is there a lot of difference between the two? And if so which do Obsidian prefer we pledge to?
  18. $50 reward tier + $8 obsidian order + $7 digital strategy guide + $25 beta key + $20 expansion = $110. Unfortunately I had to pay EUR 1000 last month for surgery for my cat otherwise I'd have gotten the $165 reward tier at least. Maybe I'll add more in a couple of months if it's still possible by then.
  19. I'm already at $110 because of all the add-ons ($50 reward tier). Any more and I'll have to file for bankruptcy I might pledge more in a couple of months if the Paypal option is still open by then, I still haven't full-proofed my bank robbing scheme
  20. I never thought Minsc was funny, more like extremely annoying. I always got rid of him asap. Mentally challenged != humor.
  21. I'm playing BGII and NWN:HoU at the moment and I have to say that the GUI of the aurora engine in NWN is much more user friendly to me. It's intuitive without being in your face or a hassle to manage your inventory. If PE did something like that I'd be very happy.
  22. I think that would be wonderful...but also very expensive. I'd rather they spend that money on gameplay
