Rather Chanter is. Shamans talk with spirits.
I like to think of the Druid classes, as interpreted by various RPGs, to be shamans of nature spirits, or the elements. It's a nuance difference, I know.
I have a three patch rule, so that'll be a "no" for me... regardless of any price discount. My reasoning: there's a time cost for dealing with major bugs, which significantly increases the effective price of a game. Still, I'm definitely interested once it reaches the îlot de stabilité.
Nearing the end game I realized I didn't really care about the factions to any significant degree. I just felt a slight sympathy for the Huana and some loathing for the Principi. But none of them really drew me in and made me feel engaged or willing to be supportive. Mostly they were there for quest assignments. The main plot pretty much squashed any interest in aligning with a faction, but apparently we're supposed to do so.
Agree that the level loading and ship combat need to improve. Ship combat though is mostly avoidable, so level loading should be the priority. Not sure whether they can fix it though without choosing a different build engine.
