  1. Not getting my hopes up, which is why I consider it my sci-fi back up in case Cyberpunk tanks.
  2. That would be awesome. the more companies who pull adds the more media shenanigans that get exposed. I've personally thought of emailing Alienware.
  3. However she could not help herself being a snide creature dripping with acid: And to she makes no apologies or clarifications even though supposedly people are misreading her or something. Leigh Alexander is a self aggrandizing nut job. Erik Kain is playing it safe.
  4. Mass Effect- great story and characters, decent combat and RPG mechanics, superb atmosphere and pacing. Mass Effect 2- better combat, still great atmosphere and pacing, map design takes a huge hit, RPG mechanics nerfed to hell. Still great characters. Mass Effect 3- a complete copy of everything from Mass Effect 2, with a janky cover system and the worst ending I've ever seen.
  5. Yes Gamasutra is a website where the "reviled" feminist Leigh Alexander posts on, so it has become one of the websites that many people on GG see as the enemy But the realty is its an excellent and informative website that discusses many important and interesting articles about the gaming industry. You should go there yourself and see, it offers a very mature view on all things related to gaming
  6. Quit raping me.
  7. http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=905447&page=7 Probably a bunch of nothing. Tbh, it should be kinda obvious that most of the promises that are being made do sound too good to be true. Lots of that stuff is generic pr talk too. Heard it all already with games like Skyrim or Gothic 3 or hell, even Witcher 2. Can't remember a game that has so much freedom as the Witcher 3 pr talk is making it look like. Same actually with MGS5- I am 100% certain that it won't offer the amount of freedom that is promised. Well, they did deliver on their promise with Witcher 2 and then some. It was a bold game for the time, with writing and graphics that pissed on other modern RPGs. That's why people are so hyped for Witcher 3. There's a crapton of generic PR talk I'll Agree with that. I for one don't doubt the degree of freedom, both games were basically mini open worlds with all the trappings. They know sandbox design. I worry a bit on the technical side, whether they can keep it bug free and the PC version soundly rooted in mouse and keyboard functionality. I hope consoles don't affect native res on PC either. These latest screens don't inspire confidence on that front.
  8. That's Geralt fighting the rare and deadly Frank Zappa Griffon.
  9. Did Anita just Tweet that? Sounds like a desperate counter to #GG. Very conspiratorial too with the games will corrupt you angle.
  10. In all seriousness, the rapist is still as culpable no matter their gender. If you're going to put a man away for 20 years in the matter, you'd better do the same with a woman. The thing is though, I really doubt such an act would affect a young man the same way it'd affect a young woman. If it had happened to me I can say with assurance I wouldn't have cared, and I know guys who banged their instructors in college at the age of 18/19.
  11. ^And who the hell is this idiot?
  12. It's ok when ladies rape. Lol, I'll be honest. I'd have been ok with it in high school as well.
  13. Video games should do whatever the hell they want. Agreed. I'm still unclear on whether my sarcasm in that comment is being taken seriously, lol.
  14. Now wait a minute! She brings up valid points like beating up women is bad and games should not condone violence, issues I had hitherto been thoroughly confused on.
  15. Cheers, Mr. Avellone. Long live strong narrative in games.
  16. I know this may sound like a radical idea, but have you ever thought of the possibility that they might have honestly been convinced by the points the "ideologues" have raised? If the points weren't so inane, yeah. There's a discussion to be had about representing a more diverse audience. I'm certain this comes from developers being lazy and publishers insisting on reliable formulas, not a patriarchal conspiracy. So when people like Anita want to raise intelligent, thoughtful points, I'll listen. But she's too busy ripping on Mario for rescuing the princess. I should add to this: I'm sure some devs are getting PR points when they agree with SJWs, others are of course convinced, like Tim Schafer and Neil Druckmann
  17. Not only that. They pressure developers to conform, as has been demonstrated by the Saints Row dev kowtowing to Anita or the Larian artist being asked to change the female lead's armor. Or the Dragon's Crown fiasco. This is the real issue as I see it. Through social media, ideologues can cause change and effectively force their views to be adopted by creative entities. It's everywhere nowadays: in comics, movies, toys, novels. I wouldn't call it a cohesive movement but an unpleasant and dangerous cultural phenomena. They've been slow to co-opt games, at least there's been a strong push back from the gaming community and some devs as well.
  18. Fundamental Christians aren't lopping heads off, like what just happened in Oklahoma. Born and bred 'Merican Muslim is copying Isis. The reality is Christianity has had hundreds of years to distance itself from the barbarism, and Islam has not.
  19. Wow. They really do hold gamers in low regard if that lineup is to be believed.
  20. I think they're smarter than that.
  21. I have to agree with Volo. Gender equality, not feminism. The term has been poisoned beyond repair, time to call it something else.
  22. That's an altogether unacceptable gender gap. Looks like a certain group of people are afraid of wimmenz invading their hobby.
  23. Of course it is. The problem is moderates are apologists for the extremists. Core tenets have to be scrutinized and politics need to be separated, but so far, which religion has managed to do that? This video, in Norway of all places shows hundreds of moderates in favor of stoning and proclaiming Islam THE one true way. That is dangerous ideology at work.
  24. Jesus. The Escapist is one of the few sites trying to do the right thing, and this is how they get rewarded.
  25. Without the stoning and death part. Even most hardcore christians have abandoned that practice.
