  1. BG had you hit the leveling ceiling at about level 7 - not too shabby but basically peanuts considering it's FR we're talking about. SO you do not know how powerful the PC is going to get relative to the game world. Ad the word nitpicking with uniform/equipment - seriously? Maybe you'd like to address the spelling as well? Ad my edit, which I don't know if you've read - we are talking here about the ability to swap whole armour sprites at will because having to trade a cool armour for a more effective one hurts your inner Versace, right?
  2. I do not know enough about the class or leveling system or about the organizations present in the world of PE, but to say that you will in the scope of the game become one of the most powerful members of anything is premature. You simply do not know the scope of the game. And of course SWAT has not only different uniform but also better equipment - what does that have to do with my analogy (besides you desperately trying to paint as a moron so you do not look like one yourself)? EDIT: I'm also starting to believe that we're arguing about two different things, but I'm not sure.
  3. It's not a lot of options we are asking for, but a simple UI toggle element or some form to take an already existing model and use it in place of another model. Make/download a mod. Do not waste developer time on vanity features.
  4. That's pretty debatable. For one thing nobody says you have to be even remotely the most powerful person in your standard fantasy organization. And also of course that police has better or more experienced members. They either still wear the same uniform, go plain clothes (no uniform) or SWAT (just a different uniform). They do not buy their own kit at an army surplus store and spray paint "LAPD" on it.
  5. That's easy enough to fix. Just have them react to the displayed armor. In fact, I would argue that doing it that way is better because it let's display your aliegence to a faction even if their default armor doesn't fit your play style. No Chief Inspector, I will not wear the standard issue uniform, it does not match my unique sense of style. I mean black and white with a yellow reflex vest, really? Do you have something matching with my eyes? Quite the reverse, actually. It would be more like going "Hey Chief Inspector, you know how you're always sending me on extra dangerous missions? Well I sprung for some better body armor for my men and my self, but don't worry I made sure it looks like the normal uniform so no one gets confused". In fact, not allowing people to set their armor's cosmetics is more likely to result in your scenario as they out level the faction armor and are forced to switch to a more effective armor of a different style. Police does not work that way.
  6. Unfortunately the restaurant you've just entered is called Josh's Pickles. i'm sorry, but you lost me. that makes no sense. You are clamoring for stupid non-crpg features for a game that is purporting to be a classical crpg. no I'm not. this is a game largely built around creating and shaping a character how I want to. This is a mechanic to allow me to do that. And its a mechanic that isn't that far off from one that already existed in the classical crpg's you are talking about. As I have mentioned if it was in BG it was dumb. It certainly was not in Fallout or Arcanum. ok, so this should be like the classical crpg's, but only in the ways that you like. Well of course, why would I want back the features that I hated? It boggles the mind.

  9. They do not want to remove combat, they want to remove challenge. Gets in the way of the interactive storytelling, see?
  10. To be honest, speaking just for myself, I truly do not a give a ****. If they tell me that I will only be able to choose from two char models per race but get two questlines and one location in return, I'll sacrifice character looks in a heartbeat.
  11. Because it's a useless vanity feature that takes precious developer time away from things that really matter, like choices and consequences or combat mechanics. I am sorry that non matching sets of armour cause you physical pain but maybe you should seek professional help in that case instead of campaigning on a message board.
  12. How does how you look not have anything to do with role playing? It's Live Action Role Playing for a reason. If you want to roleplay as Gandalf, would you not want to >look< like gandalf? I dont' see how if it's "live action" role playing means what you look like matters but "Computer" role playing what you look like means nothing all of the sudden. This is what Oblivion has done to our hobby.
  13. Knowing EULAs I somehow doubt it's legal Nobody cares about legality. Legality is moot. It changes from time and - especially - place. It's why most piracy discussions bog down to nonsense. Let's discuss whether it's moral, instead. I doubt he'd get it sold, though. It's still D3 we're talking about here. :D Also knowing EULAs I doubt that they are legal either.

  15. Just as long as they do not make PE Kickstarter Part Zwei: Send More Money, We're Out.
  16. Again, it was during 2000s when the meaning of adventure shifted from Grim Fandango to Tomb Rider. I just apologized for confusing the issue.
  17. Now, I literally meant that PS:T was an adventure (as in point'n'click adventure or as you say puzzle) game with some stats thrown in. No semantics involved. Sorry for using gaming nomenclature from before 2000, I forgot the decline hit hard.
  18. You mean this genre that should be called "puzzle game" instead? It's semantics discussion time, oh happy days.
  19. Roleplaying was always about adventure. So giving this RP part of RPG more attention for once is just what made Torment so unique and awesome. Do you even know what an adventure game is?
  20. Knowing EULAs I somehow doubt it's legal
  21. Yes, you will have your Wasteland 2. Now step aside and don't ruin the enjoyment for people who liked expanded story and limited combat of Planescape Torment. Too bad that PS:T was an adventure with some RPG mechanics thrown in.
  22. what? You mean like games, that actually have to be played? Not every game is Dungeon Siege.
