Idea: Remove of quest markers and inclusion of detailed journal.
Back in my day, we had to make our own map using graph paper. AND IT WAS AWESOME. I kid, I kid. Not about the graph paper, though. That really happened. A lot. Granted, in an isometric game there's really no reason to have a mini-map because it'd just show what you can ALREADY SEE. A non-mini map, yes. As for quest markers . . . I don't need em in this type of game, and they look cheesy. control integration is the key to an RTS style minimap.

Do I see guns and gunpowder ? I hope not :S
I love the inclusion of guns. I do hope they are as slow/limited as they should be though. Something you'll shoot at most once per fight and switch to your standard weapon. Maybe make the black powder itself hard to come by to avoid using them every fight.

1 farmer with an uzi would make our party look like the rats in the cellar of that first bar in IWD.

It doesn't matter when black powder weapons appeared in Europe because this game does not take place in Europe.

How should the UI look?
I want it more for camera control than for the actual visual map. it would make camera control so much easier. the RTS/MOBA style minimap seems like a complete no-brainer addition to this style of game considering they are essentially the same thing visually and control-wise. If people don't want it make it toggle on/off. A UI in 2014 should be able to be customized pretty thoroughly.

Minimizing Save scumming. Or is it too much of a hassle?
This is an amazingly ignorant argument. Never in my life have I heard of a DM letting their players "reload" and replay an event. Saving is simply not something that is part of the pen and paper-experience of roleplaying. Period. Also. I would ask of you to stop using the term "save-scumming" when it doesn't apply. Save-scumming is when you prevent the game from deleting your save. fair enough, I had never heard the term until this thread and I'm sorry, but saving is a part of the roleplaying experience. replaying content isn't and getting 2nd chances isn't, but its not at all uncommon for people to stop in the middle of something and continue later.

Minimizing Save scumming. Or is it too much of a hassle?
You know what you can do in a PnP RPG? Stop whenever you want and everything can be saved. You know what the only thing stopping you from reloading is? A DM making that decision to stop you. There is nothing in the mechanics of a PnP RPG to stop a group from save scumming; only the choice of one of the people involved. And you need to factor in that PnP RPGs are by design multiplayer games whereas this is being designed as a pure single player game. Multiplayer games typically have a save/load system that doesn't interrupt the other players. Single player games don't have to worry about that.

Minimizing Save scumming. Or is it too much of a hassle?
I'm curious bro, what is a true cRPG according to you? Let's drop the save-system thing for now (unless that is what defines any game for you). A perfect cRPG would IMHO, try to emulate the PnP experience as close as possible. And how would one go about to do that? drop the graphics for starters. text based or bust

Minimizing Save scumming. Or is it too much of a hassle?
Do you have an example from an actual game where the option to save anywhere has been the basis for changes to the design that you find unacceptable? I'm talking single player game, not multiplayer as I can see multiplayer issues of balance affecting the single player game, but I am having a hard time thinking of any single player game that has been affected in the way you describe, ie classes being changed drastically due to save scumming. Edited to add: And if a class has been changed due to save scumming then you are campaigning against a symptom, not a cause. It would seem to me that you should be campaigning for the save scumming to not affect game design rather than to eliminate save scumming. people have been asking for an example for days now. he doesn't seem to have one.

as long as the animation holds up its end of the deal

What would make you pledge more?
it would need to be the digital expansion though, wouldn't it? They aren't going to want to ship to everyone a second time. And you can do that with a digital expansion, just add 20 dollars but don't change your reward tier. At the end you'll get the option of an add-on expansion for that 20 dollars.

I have seriously gone from a $20 pledge and saying there's no way I'm going to up my pledge to a $40 pledge for expansion add-on currently to sitting here trying to convince myself I shouldn't up to $70 for the $50 tier plus expansion. I'm pretty sure I'm going to. Hopefully someone new takes my $20 early bird spot and not someone lowering their pledge.

Update #20: Lore Tidbits, Campaign Almanac, Big Ol' Stretch Goals, and... Environment Screenshot!
that sounds good to me (xpac), i want that, but i cant find it on the site.... Go to the Kickstarter frontpage and scroll down to the add-ons section. Ooops, all the add-ons aren't there yet, but go to the add-on update and it's all good. Hopefully the frontpage gets updated soon. In Obsidz' defense, this has all been going very quickly for them and there're are demands for new stuff and then pricing and placing all of it is a logistical nightmare. There's also an add-on update here: http://www.kickstart...ty/posts/311594 EDIT: see above. Fixing that right now! it might be a good idea to explain that you don't actually choose your add-on in kickstarter. I was confused until some users on the forum here explained that we will choose those afterwords.
