  1. My 2 cents from my D&d experience: Strength and Constitution are realistically non-independent stats so maybe they should be fused (a single value modified by talents\perks like "fatty" "big boned" etc). Muscular mass gives both strength and constitution, and a character building only constitution while maintaining low strength makes no sense. Dexterity, attack speed and character walking speed should be somewhat related and probably be inversely affected by Mass attribute (STR\CON). I also think this stat shouldn't be related with ranged weapons, it makes no sense. Aim is realistically skill + sometimes strength (think at firing an arrow with a bow) and probably some mental stat related to focus. Intelligence\Wisdom duality have to go, their boundaries were never clear anyway. A social stat is pretty essential (CHA) but other mental attributes need to be reworked. EDIT: More stuff. Subnormal stats should come with sensible penalties. A very poor intellect should lock chunks of dialogue and indirectly exp rewards. Investing highly in a stat should bring rewards but with some form of costs. Mental stats: a division between a "quick thought" Stat and a "slow thought \ memory" Stat should be considered as usually a melee fighter will have quick reflexes\mind Stat (so not necessarily stupid) and an average to poor "reason \ memory" Stat.
  2. Never had any problem whatsoever with steam. Plus, regarding hacking, there's the secondary security system if you access Steam from a different PC then usual (linked to a secure mail). EDIT: Also, Valve is one of the few things keeping PC gaming alive and well, so I have huge respect and love for that company.
  3. That's why you have GoG little Troglodyte of mine (HoMM reference ofc).
  4. Would you like to have Photoshop or Windows Movie Maker start everytime you run a game? I use steam so much I don't even understand what you are comparing it to. Steam is a platform to share and have live-things like updates. It's one of the 2 ways to buy the game (the other is GoG and is scary-DRM free). Having Steam always online doesn't bother the standard Steam user at all.
  5. So Steam is a punishment? Jeez, there's a DRM free version, stick to it. I have no idea why so many people hate having steam open.
  6. The BG2 "goofy" armor designs were very characteristic and cool. They felt like foreign to the classic medieval fantasy and I liked them a lot!
  7. I think that as soon as you cast the first spell for that level the cooldown start ticking (so you might end up with the whole level refreshed even if you only used 1 spell). This is the only way to not make optimal to spam all the best spells at the beginning of the fight.
  8. In think they talked about using a flip-book approach, so the water, trees, grass and smoke from the fireplace would be a looping set of overlaid images. Still, that can be very effective graphically and it doesn't require a fast graphics card. They'll add true 3d particles smoke and animations to this as well.
  9. I hoped in some characters in action as I *knew* that the artstyle would have been amazing. Love the lore, love the art, love the Sawyer.
  10. For this update I hope they implement microtransactions so I can get purple gear.
  11. Bobby, can you please, please put the "You must gather your party before venturing forth" in the game, at least once, as a funny reference? /adds this to his already large list of PE requests It's a MUST.
  12. "It was a high price, but that sacrifice could not be avoided any longer." I'm officially in the Order (paid the price in virgins and blood) with the title: Uomoz of the Obsidian Order
  13. Wow. That's the reason why a zoom is needed indeed.
  14. If you think about it, it's quite cool: a tired fighter is more prone to take a direct hit and get "only healable" hp loss since he used all his "auto-slowly regenerating" endurance pool dodging and parrying hits. Endurance could make melee vs melee fights a lot more interesting.
  15. I feel like the D&d hp-pool only system is old and could be improved on, it makes me feel like characters are sacks of blood. This duality hp\stamina could be a nice solution, meaning that dodges\scratches could be recovered fast while wounds could be a lot more troublesome. EDIT: This would also decrease the necessity to make characters have 10 times the starting hp pool at the end of the game. That's silly.
