Help me lose my JRPG virginity.
I played an hour of FFVI and it sure is a nice game. I wish all games made the tutorial this fun and engaging. I also nooticed that I have Fire Emblem: Awakening on the 3DS but: HA! Good fun! The second part of your sentence is better than any shocker/twist I have seen in recent video games.

How do you feel about skimpy PC's? Do you play them, or avoid them?
I managed to find three of my coolest PC's. The rugged one(Fallout: NV): The cute one(DA: Inquisition): The hippy(Fallout 3):

Everybody(including me) are cheering over the ban of loot boxes. A great move. Just remember that we won't be so happy once they apply the same rules to 'violent video games'.

I usually go for the 'been there, done that, got the scars' kind of characters in RPGs. Sometimes I create a female character and those usually end up looking rather...melancholic. Skimpy is not my thing, I guess I don't like the idea of NPCs constantly looking up my characters butt.

What are you playing right now?
Downloaded and installed Lord of the Rings: War in the North this morning but didn't get to play it. Now I am back from work and fully rested so I am off to Middle-earth!

Finished Crysis 3. A very enjoyable shooter that lets you play the game in any way you want. Story wasn't particularly good but it didn't stop me from having some fun. I like shooters with a semi open-world design and Crysis 3 does that very well. Each section is carefully handcrafted so you can play around with the enemy in a multitude of ways. You can hunt them with the bow, go guns blazing, set traps, hack mine fields and turrets or use explosive weaponry. I wish Crytek would make a shooter similar to Far Cry/Crysis but in a new setting. For now they are focusing on F2P shooters which is not my thing at all. :/

Your Preferences in RPGs...?
One thing that I rarely see in any RPG: stores/shops that aren't the very equivalent of a vending machine. There should be a synchronicity between loots and shops. Random loot often destroys this concept though.

Do you even Descent, bruh?! Descent spiritual successor Overload launches proper in May. Eurogamer.net- Help me lose my JRPG virginity.
I'll go with FFVI then, thanks for the recommendations! You people are gold. <3 And yes, sprites all the way. Ion Maiden aside, I really want a "3D" shooter with high-resolution sprites. Like you know, something with 4K/HD sprites and super detailed animations. I remember seeing Street Fighter III for the first time on the arcades back in 1996 and thought to myself 'this is the future!' but then came the polygons... ...the horror...the horror! Woah, there is a Secret of Mana 2 and 3?! I always thought Legend of Mana was some sort of spiritual sequel to Secret of Mana, never knew there was a Secret of Mana 2 and 3. Thanks for the recommendations, I also remembered Secret of Evermore which was rather unique for its time. I did something worse the other day, it involved heavy downers(let's not get into details, I'm a lowlife) and me eating a 3 layered pancake and eventually throwing the whole thing up in the toilet due to low blood pressure. Afterwards I felt better though and started playing Yakuza 0, calmly walking through the streets of Kamurocho and beating the crap out of would be thugs...even Mr. Shakedown. Poor fella keeps getting mugged by me. Could one of you old timers tell me what this thing is about? There is definitely some history to it as I've seen you fellas write that here quite often.- Help me lose my JRPG virginity.
What about Suikoden I? I heard a lot of praise about it from purists and such but I am not aure if it's the right choice for a beginner. Another reason I am thinking FFVI is because I have the digital PSONE version which I can play on the PS Vita. Playing PSONE games on the OG PS Vita(the ones that have an OLED screen) is a blast! The games look SO MUCH better, I played Silent Hill on my OG PS Vita and it looked marvelous despite its age.- Vidgy Game Soundtracks

- Are you addicted to video games? (Kinda personal IK)
I game a lot, pretty much every day but I don't consider myself a video game addict because 98% of the games I play are single-player games. I would say it's more like a hobby and most importantly, an investment. I could make a whole lot of money just by selling my games at half the price I originally bought them, never mind the consoles and accessories. Actually, games help you stay away from the real addictions that are lurking outside the safe space of your living room. On top of everything, thanks to video games I can speak/read/write in two foreign languages(German/English) at an intermediate/professional level.- Help me lose my JRPG virginity.
It's true, I have never finished a jrpg game. I have beaten games such as Nier: Automata and currently I am on my way to beating Yakuza 0 but to the best of my knowledge, those games are mostly considered to be Action Adventure games with some RPG elements sprinkled on top. I have many jrpg games that I have collected over the years but I don't know which one is the best game for starters. So help me choose one, here are the games I have at my disposal: -Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Wirch -Final Fantasy V, VI, VII, IX, X/X-2, XII, XIV, Type 0 -Tales of Symphonia Chronicles(contains both games in HD for the PS3) -Tales of Xillia 1, 2 -Tales of Zestiria -SMT: Digital Devil Saga 1, 2 -SMT: Nocturne -SMT: Devil Summoner 1, 2 -SMT: Persona 2: Eternal Punishment -SMT: Persona 3: Portable -SMT: Persona FES 3 -SMT: Persona 4 Golden -SMT: Persona 5 -Vagrant Story -White Knight Chronicles -Arc the Lad -Arc the Lad: Twilight of Spirits -Suikoden I, II, III -Legend of Mana -Rogue Galaxy -Chrono Trigger -Chrono Cross Yeah, I know: that's one helluva backlog.- What are you playing right now?
Playing The Walking Dead Season 2 or as I like to call it 'people die after you meet them' simulator.- The Music Listening thread

Yeah, out with the loot boxes. Bring in good ol' fashioned multiplayer games similar to Red Orchestra 2, Bad Company 2, Titanfall 2 etc.- What are you playing right now?
Finished Halo CE Anniversary Edition. I had totally forgotten about the godawful driving sequence towards the end. Whoever designed that part is a masochist. Started Halo 2. Sure is nice to replay the game with updated graphics. Never played past Halo 2 so I am kind of excited for Halo 3 and Halo ODST. Not so sure about Halo 4 though.- Pictures of your Games Episode X - The Journey to Babel

Having so much fun with Far Cry 2 on the PC. The only thing I miss from the PS3 version are...trophies. Also, who said that this game had 'corridor maps'?! 6 hours into my replay of the game and there has been already more than one occasion where I could drift away from the road and completely ditch a fully armed outpost. If anything, the map feel more natural compared to Far Cry 3+. Wish I hadn't sold my PS3 version of the game, I could go back and hunt a few more trophies. I'll keep an eye out for a sale. - RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS - FREE WHITE HOUSE MONTAGE
