All of those above have very distinct stylisation, lets be honest UT is pretty generic in terms of settingMetro Exodus and Rage are both post apocalyptic which has been done to death in the past decade while both Wolfenstein and Far Cry 5 have you fighting against nazis/cultists. The first Unreal had an atmosphere that was pretty unique actually: You are a simple worker aboard a transport ship. Your ship is shot down and you land on an alien planet, feeling completely alone and lost while exploring because you have no idea where you are. But step by step, you discover the planets wonders and hazards. I never played Unreal II but the first Unreal was one of the few fps games that made me feel isolated, alone and scared at times. Rune was also one of those games that made you feel truly isolated and alone at times, but that is a different game...

Rogue Trooper Redux. Not bad by any means but I think it's safe to say that the game hasn't aged well. The upgraded visuals look nice but the shooting reminds me of the PS2 era games and the story hasn't been anything gripping so far. My 2 cents: avoid, unless you are a hardcore fan of the comic books.

Rage 2 Wolfenstein Metro Exodus Far Cry 5 DOOM ... I'd say there is a demand for SP Shooters. Perhaps not as high as BR games but still...

GoG and Steam for me on PC. It is worth noting that CDPR could pull a **** move and release Cyberpunk 2077 on GoG/Console only if they wanted to. Of course they will never do that because... *drum roll* ...it's anti-consumer. Couldn't Epic Games put all that money and effort into a new Unreal Tournament or a new single-player Unreal game instead?!

How did you like Ascension? That and the newest GoW are the only ones I haven't played.

Now I'm interested. I always enjoy a unique story.

Finished Resi 0. It had its moments but ultimately, it ended up being more frustrating than fun.

I wake up 3 am to the sounds of a cat crying in the alley. Crying doesn't stop so I go downstairs to check it out. Turns out some major a-hole has decided to throw out a ca. 5 month old kitten outside. Grabbed it and brought it inside. It meowed a bit at first but boy was he happy to see some food! It stopped meowing after he was done eating. Pretty sure I am keeping him if I can't find him a good home. @Azdeus: glad to see you healing, bro. Cheers.

Shenmue I & II for the PS4.

They already released 4 on modern consoles. 3 and Code Veronica seem to be the likely candidates. My only question is if the next Resi remake will be released on the 'nexgen' consoles.

RE5 made me feel...desolate. The narrative and cutscenes didn't have any weight to them. Both protagonists are a mute.

Code Veronica X got a Remaster for the PS3 and a port for the PS4. I am guessing that the tank controls are there because it is not a remake. I could test the PS3 version but not the PS2onPS4 one. EDIT: Okay here is some info I found on reddit. https://www.reddit.com/r/residentevil/comments/6b5l0b/code_veronica_ps2_classic_on_ps4_vs_remaster_on/ Pretty stupid that the emulated PS4 version ends up as the inferior version. So if I were Keyrock I would stay away from it.

I bought the remaster for the PS3 a while ago. Alternatively, there is also the PS2 port which was released for the PS4, complete with trophy support and a 1080p resolution boost. /endofadvertisement But goddammit, Resi 0 is such. a. drag. and I just can't find the motivation to finish it, but I have to. I am currently at the Observatory, trying to open that darn capsule by -you guessed it- swapping items with Rebecca via the mini lift. Urrrrghhh.

I might do the same thing. I just feel bad for having skipped the first game, it looked fun.
