I feel like I must politely but strenuously object. D&D isn't limited to Forgotten Realms, and Pathfinder has some really, really cool sub-settings with nary a grumpy dwarf or fat hobbit in sight - check out the Strange Aeons or the Iron Gods APs for example. Perhaps, but a licensed game using a non-standard setting? Seems unlikely. Why? The two biggest isometric RPGs based on tabletop RPG licenses lately have been Shadowrun (Returns, Dragonfall, Hong Kong) and Tides of Numenera, neither of which is your usual high fantasy fare.

I'm just going to assume you are joking around with me. I thought the quotation marks were meant to imply somebody was stupid for misspelling the word. Apparently it was an honest mistake though. Carry on, then.

literally did not happen *sigh* Go read the 17th word of post# 304. You mean this one?

Friendly reminder that according to the WHO, the United States was #1 in per capita expenditure on health care while not even managing to get into the top 25 in quality of care back in the yonder days of 2000, way before the evils of Obamacare.

"I know what you really mean despite the fact that you claim to mean something completely different!" ("I shan't be fooled by your stalinist lies" remains unsaid but strongly implied.)

I think you're grievously misunderstanding the people you seem to be arguing against here. No alum, this is different and relevant. I have a hard time treating the stance of anybody who seems to be incapable of grasping the concept of "it is possible to acknowledge that certain segments of society are benefiting from social structures that have their origin in deeply unsavory historical events without holding the very same people personally responsible for those events" as "different and relevant".

Hmmm...on second thoughts, I think I'll pass. In all fairness, from what we've seen of the game, this seems like a gross oversimplification and mostly marketing talk.

I read that as Stalin on the first pass Nope I'm positive that's not at all what was written trololol

Apparently you believe you're negotiating from a position of strength here. If Trump fails, I will laugh and laugh and laugh.

Agreed, the basket of deplorables are people too. I never argued for the deportation of deplorables. What would you want to do with them without turning the situation into a violent one? Install economic policies that actually help with their living situation? Poor rural white people have been shat on by both parties for a long time; no wonder they're growing angry and desperate. Give them someone else than racist buffoons who upholds their interests and whom they can see as a credible representative of themselves, and maybe their support for racist buffoons will dwindle. As the article say, there is no one else even if the author goes overboard with his policies being racist. Elect Hillary and let the cycle down the drain continues. Yeah, well, tough ****. You asked what I would do, not whom I'd vote for.

[citation needed] Booooring! Give a counter-argument instead. I can definitely see the merit of the argument that a conservative movement which uses coded language to pander to bigots and socio-economic policies that just so happen to have a disproportionately negative impact on people of color would probably garner the support of the far-right and racist crowd, thus preventing them from becoming a force of their own. The problem is that this isn't as much stifling the rise of said movements as it is legitimizing them. Much better! But perhaps as you have noticed, despite living inside Orban's Wall, that the forces at bay are much larger than stormtroopers seeking legitimacy but rather large squats of people becoming disenfranschised from the very society that they are a bulk of. Just look at the rise of Swedish Democrats in Sweden and many others; such things do not simply happen in vacuum. Compartmentalizing them into the same group as the real ant-democratic ones will just add further fuel to the fire, instead of reaching out to the underlying issues with empathy, where i think paleo-conservatism is one of many ways to do so. I am afraid that Trump is the olive branch concerning the circumstances. The pendelum is swinging and as some famous guy said: "if you make peaceful revolution impossible, you will make a violent one inevitable". I care little to differentiate between people who personally want to get rid of "undesirables" and those who merely wish others would do that for them. Just search "dark ambient playlist" on youtube, and you'll probably find something suitable. I used this during our last session in Dark Heresy; personally, I haven't found it to be very noticeable but some of my players said it greatly enhanced the mood. Other, individual tracks I've used to great effect include Twisted Foetus by Atrium Carceri, whatever this unholy monstrosity is, Consummation from the Gone Girl soundtrack, Halber Mensch by Einstürzende Neubauten and my personal favorite, Alien from the Sunless Sea soundtrack, which once actually prompted a player to immediately leave a dungeon and get backup ASAP.

I'm not entirely sure what you're looking for here. Low-key ambient music you can play in the background? Specific cues tied to specific scenes? How do you imagine the gameplay aspect of the characters running around in the Abyss? Is it going to involve lots of demon-slaying in front of heavy metal album cover-looking landscapes, or will it be more about trying to hide from the monsters and survive in a fundamentally hostile environment?

Yes, let us purge the bezrodnyi kosmopolit from our glorious Rodina. It seems like I a struck a nerve or something as i didn't mention anything about anti-semitism or Russia. He who constantly hammers on crypto-fascist talking points shan't be confused when people mistake him for one. Definately hit a nerve. Not particularly, but I'm very much a fan of calling a spade a spade.
