  1. You did register the Mask of the Betrayer CD separately from the NWN2 CD, correct? When you log on to your BioWare account, does it list Mask of the Betrayer under your name separately from NWN2? I'm sure you checked all that, but sometimes it's the little stuff that slips by us. If everything checks, you might want to send a moderator a PM to see what the problem is.
  2. What you described actually sounds like the flu. Damn. Drink lots of liquids, water preferably, try ibuprophen (generic advil) for the joint aches/headache, and call your doctor if it gets worse. Are you running a fever? If you are, I'm nearly certain it's the flu. When you next eat, go with bland foods or try your favorite soup (I always go for Campbell's condensed chicken noodle... fond memories of childhood, it's delicious and darned cheap). Your tummy needs calming, but it may or may not be related to the diet. If you crave milk and can keep it down, go for it.
  3. It's the same planet, isn't it? It's not meant seriously or anything. Yes, same planet. I just don't understand how Wrex could possibly screw up your intention to let Kaidan die. If you hate Wrex that much, you have the opportunity on that same planet to *shrug* Oh, well.
  4. er... what does having or not having Wrex have to do with your decision to let Kaidan die? Inquiring minds want to know.
  5. Yes, those are good brands. You're still getting sugar, but you'd also be getting sugar from eating an apple or an orange. When husby was diagnosed with diabetes, he was horrified to see that most fruit was on his "do not eat" list! Also, once your stomach shrinks from smaller portions, you'll find that you'll get full much faster on much less food. Sounds like you're very determined, are going forward wisely, and are ready for the road to success! Keep it up! (er, the good habits, not... well, you know. )
  6. Based on what I have read/seen, 3 lbs/week is a great average... not too fast, yet sustainable. Drink more sugar-free juice and water than milk. It's pretty high in fat. Your biggest calorie loss will be giving up the junkfood! Without doing anything else, that would probably drop you 1 lb/week right there! Keep doing what you're doing! Edit: No, sugar itself isn't evil, but 47 gr of sugar in a single drink is, and at your weight you're prone to diabetes. Keep control of your sugar intake. If you like yogurt, it's a healthy and tasty way to get a low-fat, low-calorie, low-sugar pick-me-up. (Don't forget, carbs will turn into sugars too!) Husby is a diabetic, so we have to watch sugars with eagle-eyed tenacity. I really encourage you to check out diet juice drinks, and get your sugar fix with a big glass of healthy orange juice instead.
  7. Congratulations! As to your next post, I'm sorry. Sounds like your dad has serious control issues, and is desperately trying to find a reason to keep you at home, under his thumb. Just grit your teeth, do what you need to do to make it until September. New horizons, options, and experiences will then open up to you as you'll have university counselors to assist you with jobs, potential grants/loans/scholarships, etc. Once you're out of the house, your parents will not have the control they once did. That's a big step toward independence.
  8. I love Gothic 3! My strategy is always to liberate Cape Dun and Montera to up my rep with the rebels slightly, but not so much that the Orcs won't talk to me. After I've gone to all the cities in Myrtana, then I start liberating them one by one. By then my rebel rep is very high. I do the same thing in the desert, liberating only the city where a certain friend needs help, then visiting all others, including the capital before I start liberating them. If you liberate too soon, you won't be able to get any quests, etc., from the capital and you'll be attacked on sight. You don't want that, because you miss too many darned quests. Last I head to the snow country, rinse and repeat. This way I get nearly every quest (and goodie!) the game offers before choosing sides and going past the point of no return.
  9. Wait, what? Yeah, my bad. I should never post when I'm pissed, when it's past one a.m. or when I've been drinking. I should really never post when all three have occurred simultaneously. Apologies to those of you who have not been rude, aggressive or condescending... which is most of you, actually. Mea culpa.
  10. Jesus Christ, what a tiresome argument! Yeah, you also had slaves. Times change, get over it. I have done neither. You have done both. I'm sick of your America-bashing. Times have indeed changed. We have a black president. We are over it. You are nothing more than a bigoted troll. Shame on you. Shame on you all.
  11. Yes, they are. Extremely stupid, in fact. China's human rights violations does in no way (directly) affect me, yet I oppose them. I also oppose sweat shops in Asia, famines in Africa, drug wars in South America. None of these things affect me in safe little Sweden. I am a member of Amnesty International anyhow. Your view is apparently so slight that you cannot look further than your own little world, your own little nation. Now tell me why I shouldn't oppose an American wrongdoing? Do you think your nation is somehow above all the rest of the world's nations with domestic problems? Newsflash: it's not. You've been just about rude enough. America's gun laws are not a "wrongdoing", and are not comparable to sweat shops, famines and drug wars. Your personal attack on a fellow poster is just plain out of line. America as a nation was forged by ordinary citizens carrying weapons to defend themselves since they first stepped onto these shores, from the Revolution to the wild west and beyond. It was carved into our constitution by people who had seen the disarming of the populace in other countries lead to dictatorships and tyranny. You don't like our gun laws, fine with me. Stay in Sweden and assure that Sweden's gun laws... which don't sound that much different than America's frankly, although you couldn't be bothered to respond to that... remain "pure". That doesn't give you license to personally insult other posters in particular and America in general.
  12. I love this response when one of America's domestic policies is questioned. It's hilarious every time, and reminds me quite a bit of how Chinese nationalists respond when somebody criticises things like China's human right's record. You're comparing America's gun laws to China's human rights record? Really? This from the citizen of a nation infamous for treatment of its native citizens as recently as a couple of decades ago? Now tell me, how many threads have been seen on this forum criticizing that domestic policy, hmm? America's gun laws are a source of repeated threads on this forum. I ask why and I get this kind of rude reply. I'm disappointed in you.
  13. You are aware that in the USA one must undergo a background check to purchase a weapon, and that people who are mentally unstable or have been convicted of felonies also cannot carry legal weapons? There is a waiting period while this background check occurs. Do some slip through the cracks? Yes, usually due to gun shows and internet purchases where legal restrictions don't always apply... a big loophole that should be plugged, in my view. In many states, the type of weapons that can be legally sold is restricted. Unfortunately, there is no exam to prove the purchaser knows how to handle the weapon, which I would favor. So it's not like Joe Criminal can waltz from Sing-Sing to the corner gun store and purchase a legal weapon. Will they purchase an illegal weapon? If they can, they sure will. Criminals don't buy legal weapons in the USA, just as criminals in Europe don't buy legal weapons... but they certainly have them. The difference here is that a criminal with a weapon is as likely as not to run into a "victim" who also has a weapon. Oops. In areas where guns are carried openly, crime really has gone down. Criminals want the advantage, and an armed victim is not as vulneralbe as an unarmed one. Criminals don't want to get shot. I don't expect Europeans to understand our gun laws, and how they evolved. I am, however, consistantly perplexed at how vocal and grieved they are about them. We're not complaining about your gun laws; why are you always complaining about ours?
  14. Any crank can get 10% of the votes if they're the only one listed as running against an incumbent-- all incumbents make some enemies, and those enemies like to vote against them, regardless of who else is running. And if that crank happens to be an arguably hot chick, the numbers go up a little bit. This. The incumbent enjoyed a landslide win. She just got a few crumbs because she was the only other name on the ballot.
  15. I know I said I wouldn't buy Kasumi, but that was before I realized I already had more than half the points needed left over from a DA:O purchase. So I got it. The mission was fun, if combat intensive. The SMG is great for my SMG-using Engineer, and my FemShep now has a cool little black ****tail dress that she can slip into for "casual" attire back on the Normandy! Kasumi's skill set seems a bit thin for going on actual missions, though. Still, since I only paid a couple of bucks for it in the end, well worth it.
  16. Don't worry about the gas. It's your metabolism adjusting to your new, healthier diet. Fruit juices are great, but be sure you get Diet juices (Ocean Spray has a large variety of diet juice drinks), or the sugar content will spoil all your good work. One meal my husband and I enjoy is a heaping plate of boiled veggies, tossed with lots of butter and salt/pepper. Our favorites to include are: turnip (very sweet!), rutabega (also sweet, but takes longer to cook... add it and the carrots first), carrots, broccoli, asparagus, green beans, snap peas, cabbage (rough chopped), and anything else we have in the fridge. Use whatever you personally like best. You can include potatoes, but you don't need them if you use turnip and rutabega (if you haven't tried these wonderful root veggies, I urge you to test them out. You can't believe how sweet they are with just butter and salt). Reheat the leftovers in the microwave. This is a flavorful, filling meal or sidedish to a lean piece of meat or chicken. Use any veggies you like, boil all in one pot based on cooking time (hard root veggies first, cabbage last). Delicious and cheap!! Eating healthier is the biggest step. If you're exercising every day (your daily walking is great), you should see steady results, 1-2 pounds a week. (Don't fret about the "stalls", weeks where you suddenly flatten off. They'll pass.) Once your weight is down considerably, you'll be comfortable doing more physical exercises along with your walking, but don't try anything too exertive at this point. Too hard on your joints. I'm so pleased at your determined and positive outlook. Edit: When I say "butter", I mean margarine, or whatever spread you like best. Real butter should obviously be avoided, lol!
  17. *hug* Because I think you really, really need one.
  18. Horrible and convenient tragedy. Horrible because 130, a huge chunk of Poland's governement and military leaders, lost their lives in this terrible accident. Convenient because most of those who died were anti-Russia politically, leaving the pro-Russian Prime Minister and his governmental supporters in a much more powerful position. Also convenient for Russia. Conspiracy theories are bound to be flying on this one. It could be a coincidence, it could be a lucky coincidence, but a double-lucky coincidence... I dunno. I might even get myself a tin hat. My heart goes out to the Polish people. They are the ones who truly suffered most by this tragedy.
  19. Well, that is also another thing I have been working on. I have lost 12 pounds over the course of a month. I am at the lightest I have been for years. That's terrific! Congratulations... losing weight is a tough, long-term commitment. I'm proud of you!
  20. I agree. I'm not going to pay for such a meager download, and I agree that $40 is too danged much for a 15-hour expansion, especially since it takes place after DA:O was completed. Plus... Oghren? Puleese.
  21. I think he's confused you with another poster, Babydol, who hit him with that response once. He used to have it in his sig and all. It was a joke. I see. Could someone please explain it to me, since it was apparently delivered at my expense? Otherwise, I rather like Gfted1's theory...
  22. tl;dr why do I get the feeling it doesn't matter WHAT I said to you, because I'm a woman? Er... huh?
  23. You criticize my questions as judgemental, when I am posing them to someone who posted a commentary about how the USA and UK are secreting helping the Chechen rebels to blow up Russians? This is a debate forum. I'm entitled to civilly question someone when they post unsourced material, and when their comments indicate that they do not appear to have a grasp of the underlying hostility or its causes. Several here have done the same. Some have even referred to her as "brainwashed kid". Yet you saved your comment for me... and not the first time. But I would ask you to be consistent with your disapproval. And your drive-by snipes as well. At any rate, I see she isn't responding to questions, just posting a bunch of anti-USA diatribes, so I will not go further with this discussion.
  24. Wow, I'm still using Win XP and an old Pentium 4, and I've had very, very few problems with DA:O, all minor. I haven't been too excited about Awakenings, but now I'm glad I decided not to rush out and get it. Sounds like it ruins the original game. *shudder* I'll totally pass on it. Recent expansion packs have really disappointed me anyway.
  25. yes... and we played a male shep. the exchange you identify were almost as fun as Mordin's Gilbert & Sullivan moment. OMG, I don't think I've ever gotten that! Mordin is absolutely my favorite companion, though. I take him 95% of the time on missions, and he's not only hilarious, but he's a tough little duffer! Yes, both the YouTubes I saw were X-Box. But after an embarrassing number of failures, I finally found the secret, at least for PC'rs. You don't have to be double-jointed, but it helps. It's not pretty, but it beats the rising lava. Eventually.
