A 'saber withoutu a crystal would absolutely not work. The colourcrystal is the focusing crystal, and without it, no beam. But, then again, you can allways throw the hilt in someone's head -silent, and no beacon-like blade <{POST_SNAPBACK}> What about a saber with a crystal-clear crystal? Like glass colored.
-
Hmmm... no crystal probably might not work. What about glass-colored crystal? That should make an invisible beam by using a transparent crystal. I'm sure there are some powerful lightsaber crystals in SW that are transparent, since they got green, blue, red ones already. And yeah, clear blasters would have limited use, unless it's a sniper rifle. You hide somewhere, then you hear boom! And then you buddy's chest suddenly fries. And you look around but can't find the direction of the shooter because there were no tell-tale glowing blast? Even in RL, tracer rounds can be a disadvantage when it comes to that. And a lot of people in SW fight without body armor sometimes. I doubt a Jedi can deflect all 5.56mm round coming at him in full auto from an SAW at it's cyclic rate.
-
Well, I meant an invisible one. Energy and light are invisible, right? How about a lightsaber with no color crystal? Would that work? Anyhow, clear lasers can be implemented into blasters as well for stealth. No more bright red or green tracer blasts to light up the night and give the shooter's position away. It's a wonder why they don't switch to projectile weapons like bullets. The only projectile weapon I know exists in SW is the Trandosian Accelerated Charged Particle (ACP) Array Gun in the game Republic Commando, which is like a shotgun thingy.

You can always look at the on/off switch. And like every weapon, this does have its weakness and strength as well. Just that its strength outweigh its weakness in certain situations.

Well, you know that they don't show sexual intercourse that often in Star Wars. That does not mean that sex does not exist in Star Wars, however. Every human in Star Wars (infact in all places) exists because of a sexual intercourse Unless every character in Star Wars is a clone, which isn't true. So sex does exist, though it seems to be very very scarce. The reason it is scarce is maybe fear of STDs? There are many many systems in the galaxy, so I bet that many many STDs exist. And some are more unwanted and easier spread than others. Maybe it is why the Jedi Council forbid love? Anyhow, it would make the KOTOR gameplay very exciting if added. Think about the possibilities: You just chose the wrong romance so now you gonna travel from planet to planet trying to find a cure before the disease eats up your genitals? It could be like small wriggling worms occasionally dropping from your pant leg. The STDs take the form of maybe worms, or plants resembling mushrooms with growing tentacles. Maybe it will attack not only your front but your rear as well, regardless if you are male or female. STD's in KOTOR could be a fun way of teaching the risks to some of the younger players to be more aware in RL so they are more likely to choose the path of abstinence. Maybe the lightdagger will come in handle after all. Any thoughts?

Well what's better than a stealth lightsaber? You know how bright the blue, green, yellow, red, violet, etc colors glow so bright? A Jedi on a stealth mission at night in some dark place would be out of luck the moment he turns on his beacon-like lightsaber. Now with a clear lightsaber crystal, he can make kills with his lightsaber and still remain stealthy and undetected. Even better, when you're in a duel with another Jedi, they can't really see your lightsaber blade, so you can fool him by pretending an upper strike with your arms by twisting your wrist downwards during the strike and you cut his belly. Just needs a clear lightsaber color crystal.

Idea for new sneak attack weapon in KOTOR
Eddo36 replied to Eddo36's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Well a lightsaber dagger's advantage to a regular lightsaber is that it is much more compact, which means smaller handle (just barely enough to grip it with your fingers). And I suppose smaller handle + smaller crystal + smaller lens = smaller blade -

Well hmm, I suppose it would. Though I don't want another bashing by the ladies, but just thinking of it, ouch too. Well hey look on the bright side, it can be a way of getting rid of Star Warts if you happen to pick a romance with the wrong person. -

Idea for new sneak attack weapon in KOTOR
Eddo36 replied to Eddo36's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I have never killed anybody, which doesn't prove anything and which I'm thankful for. I just been through some training in a business where people share some of their trades. Just thought that this could make a good new weapon in KOTOR. -
Just an idea which I think can be nice if implemented into this game. Stealth will be more of a factor rather than engaging and killing horde of enemies at once by using a lightsaber dagger. You can do a sneak attack with a small lightsaber dagger and kill your foe silently, one by one. But not by slitting throat. Read on- Slitting a human's throat isn't a silent kill. There is a myth going on about how slitting a human's throat with a knife is a silent kill. It is anything but silent. The enemy will gurgle a lot and thrash around until his brains run out of oxygen. They might even run into a tree. No, if you want a silent kill, you gotta put your lightsaber dagger at the indent at the base of your enemy's skull (bone is thin there) and slam upward at a 45-degree angle. You'll scramble his medulla oblongata and the motor senses are cut off immediately. Now THAT's a silent kill. Althought different species have different anatomy (so you'll have to learn to cut different places with aliens), the majority of foes are human. So you'll know where to strike with your lightsaber dagger. Maybe instead of going for a silent kill, you can turn on your cloaking device and sneak right up to your foe and strike that person with the lightsaber dagger somewhere up between the legs. He will be writhing in pain. (notice how this tactic would only work against males, hence I don't want to hear it from the feminists here this time) The lightsaber dagger can also turn into a melee weapon if you get caught with your pants down. You can slash at foes and maybe perform limited amounts of blocks to blasters. Well hey, it's better than using your fists! It would only need one crystal because it is so small. You just pick the color. It would also easy to hide on your person due to its compact size. You can turn off the blade and shove the handle part up somewhere. Just make sure it doesn't turn on while it's up there. And for those non-Jedi users who want a silent kill, you can always go for a mini-vibroblade dagger. It can maybe double as a vibrating device for interested males or females if you're careful not to cut yourself. Think it would be really neat if a lightsaber dagger was added into KOTOR? It would really beef up the stealth portion and add new options of playing the game.

Gimme a break, can't anyone here take a joke? Lighten up a bit. Jeez. -
Well, I see a lot of people here argue that women should be represented more in this game as well as other fantasy settings. I think that it would be wise to implement them more realistically in the fantasy realm like the KOTOR series by adding the natural female trait of periods for your main character, should you decide to play the Exile as a female. Maybe have her at random times in the Ebon Hawk snap at other party members uncontrollable by your party members, just shouting some gibberish. Then you lose some influence with them which you gotta make up later? Or how about adding this realistic feature to female NPC's, such as Mira, Visas, and Handmaiden. Have them at random times get angry at you all the sudden. Then they apologize later and blame it on their periods. And if they get a sudden angry mood swing in a fight, they power up from it and the poor guys on the opposing team gets massacred. This will portray a female more realistically in the game, IMO. Thoughts?

Hey, how about Episodes -3, -2, -1, and 0, to reveal the past and maybe also an Episode 2.5 (Shadows of the Empire)? -
I'm going to buy K3 either way, no matter if it's good or bad. Just that if it's bad, then I'll be pissed off with it's makers again and post crap on their forums while waiting for the next game to come out.

Whooo plot twists in Star Wars Go play a Tom Clancy game.
-
I always wanted to beat Kreia to death the first time she talked to me in the game. She's a strange old woman, a complete stranger who thinks she's your grandmother or something (yuck) It sucks that I had to wait all the way till the end to do it.
-
I usually play evil the first time I play a choice game, since I go through the game and become a master by the time I finish as a bad dude. So when I start a new game as good, I'll do every little detail/quests of the game as good and leave nothing out during that game (keeping all good characters alive the best I can, make sure all good quests are completed, find all the hard-to-find items, etc).
-
Who here generally play games as a bad guy first, then start again as a good guy? Who plays as a good guy first? I don't mean just light/dark side of KOTOR, but Open Palm/Closed Fist of Jade Empire and other games that gives you the option to choose between good and evil.

Force powers are generally better than combat abilities.

Uh... didn't Malak betray the Jedi by joining the search for the Star Maps?

Shouldn't Malak have been the Lord of Betrayal? Traya got nothing on him.
