Okay, no life monitor. The explosive is triggered when you release your grip of your lightsaber the wrong way or something. Or if you use EMP, you'll not only disable the life sign monitor but the lightsaber and the explosive device control as well. And a three feet blast should be enough, since a lightsaber is 3 feet long or so and when he is in striking range of you, a 3 ft blast will kill the enemy who strikes you down.
-
Well if you weren't going to survive a duel, you probably wouldn't want your enemy to either. How about a small explosive device attached to your lightsaber that is triggered by your life moniter (General Crix Madine had one). If you get struck down, it'll go boom and take out everything within 3 feet or so. Maybe a tad smaller than a thermal detonator but just enough power to kill the person who struck you down. That way you'll kill everyone you face. It can also be an unpleasant surprise to foes who collect the lightsabers of Jedi they killed, such as General Grievous, Aura Sing, and Boba Fett.

Suicide bomber!

Well, if you arm the battle droids with a thermal detonator sized self destruct mechanisim that blows up when droid gets destroyed, there's no way a Jedi would be able to strike them with a lightsaber and survive. And if they throw the lightsaber at the bomb droids, the lightsaber would probably be damaged by the blast. Thoughts?
-
Hmmm.... what about for a suicidal Jedi have a lightsaber grenade? A thermal detonator attached to a lightsaber. You go engage the enemy Jedi and then BOOM! Would be useful to arm droids with them.
-
Well if Dooku could grip his curved lightsaber handle, how hard can it be? And what about dual wielding two lightsaber guns? Double the firepower and sword power.

Well, remember the L-shaped lightsaber I suggested earlier? http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?showtopic=34258&hl= Guess it wasn't feasible but I have a better idea. It's basically attaching a lightsaber as the handle for a blaster. It would be extremely useful, especially if you are in a duel with another Jedi who has only a single-bladed lightsaber. The lightsabers' handle is shaped like an L: the long (blade) part is for the blade and the other protruding (blaster) part is for the barrel of the built-in baster. You turn on your lightsaber blade and engage a Sith or Jedi just like a single duel and while you are fighting and your lightsaber blade is locked with your enemy's roughly at a 90-degree angle from the ground, you press the trigger for the blaster component with your pinky finger and blast the hell out of him/her. You can also shoot enemies from long range when you're unable to meet with him up close to engage them with your lightsaber. And think of this cool move: You throw the lightsaber at an enemy, then the blaster part shoots at other enemies while in mid air and you kill a lot more by surprise. It maybe need a seperate power cartridge for the blaster component if the lightsaber crystal can't power up the blaster component.

what would your lightsaber style be?

Not really a good example. Dead DS disintergrate: remember Obi-Wan's final words to Darth Vader (and if you have the super-duper latest DVD Special Edition, the earlier deleted dialogue goes further than just stating that the LS are happy campers, the DS are "destroyed utterly", I think his words are.) Even if we stretch to include the KotOR game as acceptable, Ajunta Pall was bound to his tomb, so not much use for a PC to be stuck haunting a particular piece of furniture. And my third point still stands: why? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well.... Exar Kun! He did some pretty badass things as a ghost on Yavin. And if you got to be bound to somewhere, what about being bound to the Ebon Hawk? Then you can go with it across the galaxy. And why? To add to the immersiveness!!! Not the same old always being alive repetitiveness.

Take a bunch of crystals and melt them together? Add a bit of machinery here and there to modify it's intensity and viola, lightsaber tank!
-
It's basically a really really big lightsaber. Just take all the parts needed to make a lightsaber and expand them by a 10- or 20-fold till you construct a lightsaber as big as a tank. Then you can add tracks, a chair, and engines to it and use it to ram buildings and breach sealed doors, or just go through the battlefield moving enemy troops down. Maybe it can be used on a starship to ram capital ships? Thoughts?

LS only? Hint hint, Atila Pall?

Well, won't it be cool if you died somewhere in the game because you messed up and underestimated an enemy or something, then you become a force ghost and you go back to your party members (some of them who died can be ghosts as well) and you go to the bad guy who killed you and then you scare the crap out of him and then you beat him and kill him. And you can give telephatic messages to your other teammates like: "Run, Carth! Run" And then there will be 4 possible endings for the game, one where you are alive and light side, one when you are alive and dark side, and two when yuo are a ghost. It'll be like for example some Yoda-like dude will say "Congratulations, you are now the hero... er, or ex-hero..." And then you can be able to meet the ghosts of all the dead people you encountered in previous games and keep killing them for good. And you probably won't need credits anymore, you can just take what you want lol. Does this sound like a good idea?

I saw another post on this, but it's been a while and I couldn't find it anymore, so I just wanted to bring it up here. I think that if we were able to play as a hutt in K3, it would be cool because you can rely more on your party members to do the work for you and make the gameplay much more easier. Just gotta decide on which would be preferable: micromanagement or macromanagement? I think micromanagement is better because it will make the storyline much more indepth such as you can chain one of your party members to you the whole time (if you're a male hutt, you chain female characters to you, and if you are a female hutt then you can chain a male character to you) though if you are too lazy then you should opt for the macromanagement. And it would make a whole lot of possible romance options, since a hutt changes gender from male to female and then back to male again.

Thanks for the feedback, Plano. My response was to your last line of that first response you wrote to me. Anyhow I'm in total agreement. I just wish that K3 would unravel all the mysteries, and it should since it is the third game of a mysterious plot-intense series. I'd be dissapointed if there are a lot of mysteries still out there by the time you beat K3.

Just wanted to bring this up here that Obi-Wan died exactly the same way as Nihilus did when Vader struck him down in the Death Star, yet he kept coming back as a ghost (Run, Luke, Run!). And Nihilus was "weirder" than Obi-Wan.
-
I personally think a Darth Nihilus Force Ghost would make an excellent DS mentor (and, IMO, K3 really needs to have a more clear-cut distinction between LS and DS paths and, by extension, training). However, the alienspeak that he does poses something of a problem....they would need to find a very plausible way to explain why he had the alienspeak in K2 but not as a K3 Force Ghost. Bringing him back as a living man would be difficult, IMO. Calo Nord has a better chance of coming back as a living man than Nihilus does, IMO. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Why? Well think, Obi-Wan died exactly the same way as Nihilus did when Vader struck him down in the Death Star, yet he kept coming back as a ghost (Run, Luke, Run!). And Nihilus was "weirder" than Obi-Wan. More Nihilus discussion here for reference: http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?showtopic=34429 Anyhow, on a seperate issue: My Darksaber idea (which was the very last post in the 4th idea thread before it got cut off.) A Sith with a dark lightsaber fighting a Jedi with a bright lightsaber would make a spetacular duel, I think. The floor on the Sith's side would be all shadowy due to the black light illumination, while the floor on the Jedi's side would be bright and when the two lightsabers clash, the black one will contrast in the light while the bright one will contrast in the darkness. Talk about special effects lol.

Or if his arch-enemy is an entire different species which can be left alone in peace but no... no... they are evil! All of them should die! What have they done that is evil? Nothing except defend themselves from our attempts to exterminate them, maybe?

Mentioned this earlier but since the last thread closed, thought maybe it can make a good suggestion in this thread. I think that Darth Nihilus should make a comeback somehow in K3 so that he can be redeemed as a character. He does seem to be an interesting fellow with lots of mysteries and potential. And Star Wars EU has characters returning from fake deaths all the time, what's there to lose with this one? Besides, having a character with such a sorry role/life as the cover boy for the game box doesn't help the series. The possibilities of bringing Nihilus back are endless- the Exile still has the Nihilus mask, so anyone who puts on the mask resurrects Nihilus? Or that red cloud Nihilus turns into forms back up again? Or maybe like since there will always a Darth Traya, there will always be a Darth Nihilus? Darth Nihilus was really the evil side of Revan? etc etc and etc. You can make better ideas, but the possibilities are endless. Just give your K2 poster boy a chance to be redeemed. I don't see any harm bringing him back; he doesn't have to be the main villian or even a major villian, just something better than just a foe you kicked the ass out of. KOTOR 1's storyline is the best. But KOTOR 2's storyline is the 2nd best.

Yes, I suggested a clearsaber earlier but that wouldn't work, I guess due to the responses: http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?showtopic=34205 But black, well it'll create a shadow of blackness all around you so the enemy needs time to make his eyes adjust to the dark and make you harder to see while he's standing in the light. And they can't see your black blade that well when you swing it at them because black camoflauges with the dark shadows.

I got a new idea for a new lightsaber color crystal: the Darksaber The BEST Sith lightsaber idea yet: Well what's better than a stealth lightsaber? You know how bright the blue, green, yellow, red, violet, etc colors glow so bright? A Jedi on a stealth mission at night in some dark place would be out of luck the moment he turns on his beacon-like lightsaber. Well earlier I suggested a CLEAR color crystal, but it seems that there were objections of its functionality. Well what about a BLACK lightsaber crystal? Black light bulbs creates an area of darkness, or "black light" (we use that in Halloween decorations). Black blade would not only be truly be invisible in the night, it will create an area of darkness all around you as well (if you're not fighting a Jedi with a bright lightsaber, that is). It's probably as equally as effective as the clear blade when fighting in low light, or to remain stealthy in the darkness in the shadows or at night. If my black lightbulb or ultraviolet blade theory don't hold up, then what about dark matter? I'm no expert in physics, but it is fitting. Always possibilities. With a black lightsaber crystal, he can make kills with his lightsaber and still remain stealthy and undetected. Even better, when you're in a duel with another Jedi, they can't really see your lightsaber blade when you're fighting in the shadows, so you can fool him by pretending an upper strike with your arms by twisting your wrist downwards during the strike and you cut his belly. However, if the Jedi you're fighting has a really bright lightsaber, then your black blade won't be truly invisible due to the light up. Well, every single weapon has its advantages and disadvantages. And how about implementing this technology into blasters? You shoot black light, not those bright green or red tracer rounds that gives away your position. You'll see a black colored bolts fly at you and suddenly shadows start forming all around you (due to the illumination of black light from the black bolts) and then you see one of those black bolts hit you and you're like AHHH!!!! MY SKIN IS BLACK!!!! Thoughts?

Here is a big understanding: Evil /= Unintelligent Didn't the Jedi council claimed they don't believe in execution? Jedi only contradict themselves. Terentatek killing is RACIST!
