  1. I'm not really talking about individual enemies whom if they see you fight, they won't live to tell the story. But Maybe it'll work for some, especially if you fight them more than once, they get much better (higher in levels) when you fight them a next time, and better equipped too. And when you fight the soldiers of an army (the Sith army) a lot and kill a lot of them, then soon they'll start adjusting their weaponry and tactics and get better the next time you fight them? Or maybe they don't level up just by fighting you, but they got other enemies as well. And the longer the war, the more exp they get? And also, not just your enemies get exp, but non-party NPC's if they fight alongside you or you hear them fight a lot of people?
  2. So I'm supposed to do an AP research project each time I post? Want an essay with that? Sorry for being sarcastic, just that pages takes long to load with 56k. The title pretty much says what this topic is anyways, I don't know why you guys came into this thread when it wouldn't bother you one bit to ignore it. All you need to do is read the title. That's easier and less time consuming than what you expect others to do. Anyhow, mod, lock this up.
  3. I feel the love.
  4. Okay, so some people might think the Star Forge robes were ugly in KOTOR. How about they don't trash it, but improve it in KOTOR 2? I mean the Rebublican soldier clown suits could have used some touch-up, and that Star Forge robe was a rare one-of-a-kind artifact.
  5. Saw it in a SW comic book Jedi vs. Sith carried by a Sith chick named Githany. It's basically a lightsaber with a long, thin, flexible blade that is like a whip. It wrapped around a guy's arm and he lost his arm. Would be cool if implemented in the game in addition to single bladed lightsaber and double bladed ones. Maybe make it have more chance to hit per strike than standard single bladed lightsaber and has longer range, and it can disarm opponents, but is worse than the standard lightsaber when it comes to defense and blocking a blow? Thoughts?
  6. Amen to that. I can't speak for a girl, but who the hell would wanna pick a romance with a whiny paranoid idiot like Carth?
  7. Long blade/saber in my right hand, short blade/saber in my left hand.
  8. Just wondering how can the Sith board the Ebon hawk with 10 level 20 characters aboard armed to the teeth? Hell, trying to escape from Malak in the Leviathan, we should have taken over it instead! I mean, with just 3 of you by yourself, you were already unstoppable. Now with 10 of us together, that would be some firepower. Wouldn't it be cool to see the whole 10 party members fighting side by side in some scene?
  9. You really want that princess to be the main character? Don't forget that Revan lost all his memories, powers, and skills and had to relearn them in the course of weeks. Bastilla and Malak all had their skills learned for years. Even Malak said that Revan would be a better asset to him than even Bastilla and her famed Battle Meditation. Who needs Battle Meditation when you're a charismatic leader and a tactical genius? Bastilla was the one who got lured to the Dark Side by Malak. And you have end up saving her, killing her, or joining her. If you have Revan killed at the beginning on his flagship, they won't be able to find the Star Maps and Malak will end up decimating all of them. You have to whoop up Bastilla more than a few times to win that first game, kinda shows who the way stronger one is. Bastilla can't even beat Malak on the Leviathan, she just stupidly rushes at him while I was whooping up Malak and ends up being captured. I can go on and on, but the bottom line is why would choosing one official face make everyone else feel bad? They can choose what they want in their game, after all.
  10. Hey, it would be fun to set up a particularly gruesome initiation to eager, prospective party members to become one of your party members. To join, they got to stand in a line for hours or days or something, or send them on a suicide mission.
  11. Yeah, maybe if I was lucky, a punch would hit and do 5 points worth of damage.
  12. Well, not all, but how about some of them? Like you can pick any three people you like least to kill.
  13. And don't forget the opportunity for disgruntled party members to try to kill you. Just try to keep the opportunities to a minimum.
  14. Well, how about a way to secretly kill off some of your party members? Not through combat neccesarily, but through interaction, like poisoning their food or opening the airlock when they are alone in a specific part of the ship. The other party members will want to know what happens, but if you make it look like an accident, then they won't get too suspicious. I guess this is a way to weed out the party members that you don't like. Like for example, if your party character is a goody goody and the rest of your crew is evil, that character is too strong and dangerous to just let him go because he might come back and fight you. So you conspire with a few other party members and slit his throat while he sleeps? Or you can kill party members just for the heck of it, because they annoy you or they whine too much. Or if you want an item that that party member soley possesses, or kill for whatever reason. Or if you're dark side, then no reason at all. But if the other party member finds out you do it too much and they like the people you're killing, then you may have a mutiny on your hands and have to set poison gas in the Ebon Hawk's ventilation system and arm yourself with a gas mask and you and your droid kill everybody else on the ship? Thoughts?
  15. Well, you know some non-coorporative potential party members won't join you because of your alignment? You think you can be able to trick some party members into joining you? Or drugging them up and typing them up and throw them in the storage space on the Ebon Hawk and keep them there until the end of the game? Just so you don't feel like you left any characters behind? Maybe you can do that with enemies too. And you can go there and torture them whenever you want to? Or interrogate them for more and more info? Or get them to switch sides and join you? Or land at a jail and release them? Or a sarlacc pit?
  16. So strength counts in hand to hand? You don't need no melee weapon. I sometimes have Zaalbar go hand to hand, think it works better he goes hand to hand than if he was holding a vibrasword that I had.
  17. Not powerful enough to defeat Malak on the Leviathan? Hell I was kicking his ass and thought I was gonna kill Malak right then and there until stupid Bastilla suddenly shouts "For the Jedi!" rushes in and stops it and the door closes, and I was like "GODDAMNIT!"
  18. Well, there were many silimarities between this game and Deus Ex, I think. Gameplay wise, you solve mission goals but have the option of doing side quests for experience points to gain skill, and you upgraded yourself by skill and augments. Like in Deus Ex, you can pick a skin color, face, and gender. You can even pick your real name aside from your code name (JC Denton). There was a similar economy system in Deus Ex, where they used credits as well. You can choose your dialogues in conversations. You can pick different alliances. You know the Taris mission where you got to get the rakghoul serum to save th people? It's like getting the ambrosia to save the people in Deus Ex from the grey death plague. You can give that small vial of ambrosia to a character to save him and finding tanks of it to save lots of people. Now in Deus Ex 2: Invisible War, you come back as a different character (Alex Denton) 20 years later and you have the option of choosing to side with your character in the previous game (after finding out what happens to him at the end of the first game and which side he picks) or killing him and choosing a different alliance. I think that this game is a Star Wars 3rd person version of Deus Ex with party characters, not that there's anything wrong with it. What made Deus Ex game of the year also made KOTOR game of the year, IMO, and I loved both games. Thoughts? Anymore similarities that I might have missed?
  19. Your characters can punch and kick if they aren't holding any weapons, right?
  20. If there's an option to kill that apprentice before he gets too powerful, I'm all for it.
  21. I'm not sexist or anything, but there is a reason why women aren't allowed to serve in combat positions of today's military. I understand that men and women are equal, but they are not equivilent. That's the reason.
  22. Well, if there's a person with a melee weapon next to you striking you and you're trying to shoot him at point blank range with a ranged weapon, you'll most likely miss because he's right next to you and is knocking aside your gun while striking you. But if he's not striking you and you're right next to him, you should be able to blast him on the mark each time.
  23. Yeah, this is a Star Wars game after all, not a kinky cheesy Playboy mansion game.
  24. But how do you determine "...The one that most people like.."? A poll on here? That's not an indication of everyone. That's an indication of those who frequent this forum. A poll on Lucasarts? Again, not a good indication because not everyone who plays the game goes there (myself included). Assume he's male? Then you alienate many female gamers, especially those who are "hardcore" and probably enjoy the fanfic side of KOTOR more than most. Assume she's female? Then many guys on here will be upset. I just think there's too many different scenarios that it would be difficult to decide which one to use, while at the same time, not alienating a good percentage of fans. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Random sampling does work in sampling the majority. If you're saying a poll is too hard, then maybe the people incharge of the Star Wars storyline pick a storyline. They seem to be very creative. Not trying to alienate a few but regardless, if there wasn't an official story then everyone loses out. No one has anything to lose by picking an official storyline for the Star Wars universe, and almost every Star Wars fans has something to gain if it was possible for a Star Wars novel written on KOTOR. I personally can go either way with either gender, but the question is: why would people be so upset on what happens in the official story when they are free to play their own way in the game? It wouldn't affect them one bit in their gameplay, and it would benefit those fans of the Star Wars universe by having an official storyline to follow outside of the game. As I said, the official storyline will be seperate from the game where players can choose their own storyline.
  25. Well, here's the deal... Revan can be killed, but it has to be done in a fight/battle and not some pansy ass starship laser from behind.
