Rejected KOTOR2 subtitles
Feargus Urquhart replied to Topaz Quasar's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
STOP!!!! -
tired of waiting
Feargus Urquhart replied to Darth Abomination's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
It actually has been a while now that I think about it. I'll check in with LucasArts and find out what's up. -
I hope it ain't true
Feargus Urquhart replied to Darth Abomination's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Personally I like playing the Light Side, but that really is just personal and doesn't really have to do with playing TSL. Also, I need to play the dark side more to get a real feel for it. We're finally getting into the playing it a lot part of the project. -
A "better" way to say it might be a hip, fashion conscious, latest trend following, heterosexual male.

Feargus Urquhart replied to Darth Abomination's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I think I am answering the right question, but I might not be. Anyway, there is not set ending to KOTOR2, however like KOTOR1 some Star Wars history sites/books will assume one of them. -
OMG OMG OMG OMG
Feargus Urquhart replied to Senator PalpaTANG's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Chances are fair. -
Actually a lot of companies, including Bioware for Neverwinter (I'm pretty sure), have Gamespy create all the CD-Keys for their games. It costs some money, but it's pretty insignificant compared to the cost of the development and marketing of the game.

I wouldn't mind making an Icewind Dale 3. Atari would have to want the product though and I'm not sure if they are interested in continuing that brand. I should ask though, since I haven't yet. Having said that, I would like us, Obsidian, to create our own world soon as well. I would bet that would come before us doing an Icewind Dale 3.

I am going to try to comment on the release dates without sticking my foot in my mouth or pissing a myriad of groups off. This is probably impossible, but hey when has that ever stopped Feargus "Slamdunk" Urquhart before. Anyway now that I'm done with the disclaimer. There are actually a whole bunch of reasons why the dates have been set they way they have been, some of them have to do with LucasArts and some of them have to do with Obsidian. Microsoft even weighed in on the topic and let us know what they would like to see. What came out of all that was that the US Xbox version would come out in December and the PC and both International versions would come out in February. Like a lot of people on the boards here, we are disappointed that we will not be shipping the PC version simultaneously. We are probably more disappointed actually, because of all the hard work we put into making it possible for that to happen.

Well if all else fails, mabye someone will get to make an "Episode 7" game.

We've worked a lot on speeding things up in the game. However, we've chosen to use those speed ups on larger environments and more things in each of the levels.

The Robes In The Kotor2 Pics
Feargus Urquhart replied to XboxSithLord's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Well as it has been said before, we have put new robes in that move with all of your actions and flow like real cloth. However, we, unfortunately, can't also give everyone the option to have their hood up or down. We're really tight on memory on the Xbox with all the new animations and because of the new robes (they take up a bunch of memory compared to the old robes). -
Whatever happened to Dave Hendee?
Feargus Urquhart replied to Ivan the Terrible's topic in Developers' Corner
After Alan left Interplay he went to Origin for a short time and then to FOX Interactive. I am pretty sure he is still living in California and is consulting for game companies. Interesting side note: My first full-time job at Interplay was as Alan's assistant. As for Dave, I am pretty sure he is in school and is still living in "the Interplay house". Which is a house in Irvine that various people from Interplay have lived in since about 1991, maybe two or three years earlier than that. Dan Spitzley (lead programmer on Torment) still lives there as well. -
I'm so important, I'm beyond special tags.

I haven't been playing a ton lately, but here's the list: BF1942/Vietnam Lineage 2 City of Heroes WoW Beta Sacred Painkiller I need to get my console on though, since I haven't fired up the GC, PS2 or Xbox (except for Media Center) for the past month.

I just wanted to point out that we have a number of programming positions still available for our next product. You can read about them at : Obsidian Jobs

Thanks Karzak. Oh, how I've missed you.

How many titles are in development then?

D&D: Does Obsidian 'ave an interest?
Feargus Urquhart replied to Sargallath Abraxium's topic in Obsidian General
Don't read more into this, but we wouldn't mind making another D&D game. It would be nice to have a break from time to time from it, but most of us got into making games because we played D&D when we were younger. -
Does it really matter?

The Snake post was Sawyer - that was one of the "communication" methods when we were at BIS.
-
Personally I think we should make sucky games. I'm an inherently lazy bastard and making sucky games is a hell of a lot easier then making good games.
-
My thoughts on the Interplay/BIS projects are the following: 1) I don't think we mind talking about them, we just don't want to talk only about them. 2) We can't talk about things that could be considered confidential by Interplay. 3) We don't want to become the new Customer Service spot for IP/Black Isle games.

Git the Planescape Licence!
Feargus Urquhart replied to Sargallath Abraxium's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I'm not sure if anyone ever covered this before, but the funny thing about the Forgotten Realms, Planescape, Al-Qadin (or whatever that is called, Ravenloft and the rest of the TSR worlds is that they were created specifically for licensing. Back when Lorraine was still in charge of TSR they needed cash and they came up with the idea of creating multiple "worlds" of D&D so they could license each of them individually. -
Not getting into the type of game conversation, but I have found that there really isn't much of a correlation between Amazon.com sales ranks and how well a game is actually selling.
