  1. Correct We are a Representative Democracy
  2. A little ironic. A little.
  3. I agree! Extremes in any direction can be bad signs. However, all things being equal, it's better to have higher turnout. I just think it is far from the end all be all. Venezuela, post compulsory, has one of the highest turnouts in the world. Does that make them a beacon of Democracy? BTW, Euro countries with some kind of compulsory voting: Greece Austria (presidential elections only) Belgium (see Belgian electoral system) Luxembourg Some parts of Switzerland and, not Euro, but Australia Countries that previously had compulsory voting, but have abolished it: The Netherlands
  4. No, they don't. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I love it when you make it easy
  5. "No one" is the key. Is a country where the majority votes a failure? I think your arguing on a philosophical level here, which is fine, but it's not necessarily reflective of reality. If a candidate, like many incumbents in the US, is almost assured a victory and some of his supports don't go out to vote because they know he is a lock, is that "bad"? There are lots of reasons people choose not to vote. Not at all. I don't feel I need to argue this one.
  6. Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the US, Japan, and Costa Rica don't deserve your thanks? Its almost if your trying to slight them :D
  7. She said Denver would win too "
  8. Actually, all things considered Sweden is a whole lot better place to live than US of A. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> US GNI/Capita: $37,870 Sweden GNI/Capita: $28,910 enjoy your arbitrary ranking of freedom
  9. Meh, not necessarily. High turnout can often mean people are unhappy with their government on some serious fundamental level, etc. IMO, a better way to rate it is how "free" people are to vote, rather than what % votes. Not voting can be a choice, after all. Isn't that freedom? Also, the US isn't sitting next to Iran or something, their right there at the top, how is this supposed to be an insult? Also, it seems that anti-abortion stances of a country actually might hurt it's measure, as it's addressed on the website of the group that made this list, under where they talk about individual countries. While I'm pro-choice, I find that odd.
  10. Happy Thanksgiving Doomy
  11. :D Such crap! Do you even believe you on this one? ESPN: Not whining, but because of a ILLEGAL CUT BLOCK. If the refs saw it, and didn't call it, they too should be reprimanding. Also, the Fox TV crew just ripped into him. When Howie Long thinks you're cheap shotting, that says something :D You're wrong. 'Nough said.
  12. maybe, but he didn't review it
  13. I like it. Feels old school. Now for my + "Hate to say I told you so" post: The league completely agrees with you. Yes, protecting players careers and their health for the rest of their lives = lame.
  14. Yes, because Denver isn't famous for cut blocks at the knees. Well, I might be silly, but the Giants didn't prove me wrong " They lost to good teams and their "signature" wins came against Philly, Dallas, and Atlanta. Dallas sucked at the time and it's clear that Atlanta is a Jets type of team. Good win against Philly though. As I said, in my mind they were a playoff team, but I didn't see them as a Superbowl team. For lots of reason, but alot of it is that Eli just isn't there yet and their Defense isn't good enough to carry them a la Ravens past defenses.
  15. Happy Birthday. The nude pictures will be sent via email shortly
  16. Not to brag, but I ****ing owned that dragon and the black dragons. Should have been tougher battles.
  17. Happy b-day
  18. Apparently it takes more than playing dirty The Chargers are scary good and their missing their star linebacker
  19. " That was a crazy ending. Also, I am SOOOOO glad that Chargers lineman jacked that Denver lineman for going for the knees after the whistle. Denver = TEH Dirty
  20. early reviews on AIN'T are positive you know you will all watch it
  21. Even healthy, the Giants weren't "great". I have a feeling were using different expectations for great. They were/are likely a playoff team, but I never thought they were a super bowl type team like many people were hinting at pre-season. Their losses came at the hands of "great" teams, imo. Seattle (pre injuries) and Indy. I'm not sure what it is about the Giants, but the sum total always seemed to be less than the value of it's parts. dunno. Right before they got all the injuries, they started to get the offense and defense at the same time, but that's the NFL. Who says that? ESPN has them rated right in the middle of the league, which is where I would put them. As for the future, would surprise me if they make the playoffs next year. BTW, go San Diego
  22. I hear that. 1 sad thing, the Heros expansion isn't updated or compatible with the latest 1.4 patch. Shame.
  23. Cylon lover
