  1. I think Ed is sadly underrated
  2. I cant believe that my new favorite show only got mentioned once, by Kumquat. 1. Deadwood (HBO) 2. Lost 3. mmmm.... cant actually think of one. Survivor? I keep meaning to start a thread on Deadwood, a great show in my opinion. Just barely beating out LOST for me. Most of my favorite shows have ended. I guess I'm going to have to check out the Stargate Atlantis and SG1, as well as Battlestar Galactica. Off to bittorrent for a sample..... I know Battlestar just came out-- is Stargate atlantis on dvd yet?
  3. I need to put that in my sig
  4. http://img3.exs.cx/my.php?loc=img3&image=al13.jpg because he is just so damn cool. ( the one on the right btw ) Anyone else watch Deadwood? Thanks Meta!!
  5. I think this has been my favorite topic ever
  6. Show me the Money!!! Hate that Sorry, not from literature, but I still dislike it strongly.
  7. Just finished the first Stephen Donaldson's Thomas Covenant book, and I'm not quite sure what I think of it. It was at least ok. Now reading Robert Ludlums Apocolypse Watch, as well as The Battle 100 . Cant remember who it is by-- some retired General I believe. I'm enjoying the latter more so far.
  8. Google
  9. I was hoping to get a response from you, Monte. I agree with that, and I really hope they dont ever do a WW I/II type scenario. I really liked the Ancient Mesopotamia, and the Greek idea too. The Napoleonic era could be interesting too, but I would worry about too much gun combat and not enough melee-type stuff. Who knows though-- I dont mind the gunpowder units in Medieval as much as I though I would. I would really love to see some really early history, pre-800 B.C. Does anyone know much about the Russian Empire? I figure with as big an empire as they had going on there's gotta be a good story there. I know very little about it, but I signed up for russian history next semester.
  10. Ive been enjoying Medieval: Total war for the past couple months and just went out to Wally World and bought Rome:Total War. So I was just wondering on any ideas you all might have on what is next from the fine folks at Creative Assembly? They've done Feudal Japan, the Roman Empire, and Medieval Europe. Any guesses/rumours on what is next? Total War: Native America? Total War: China? Will they ever move into more modern warfare, like WWII? Just wondering what you thought, as I've had a good time with their products so far.
  11. Like: RPG's Running Good Music Christmas Rain Strongly Dislike: The General Public Tofu Red ink Boy Bands Politics (yall can keep it)
  12. ATWA by System of a Down is very underrated, like that a lot. I still love King Nothing by Metallica, and of course One. And I like all of Evanescence. Dont hate me :">
  13. Rashemen is mostly desert, and I believe he grew up down-wind of the nuclear testing site. Thats my theory.
  14. Im actually finding myself agreeing with Hades :Spiderman 3 and Chronicles of Riddick were my fav's. I do love the Incredibles too. Didn't get to see Bourne Supremecy though.
  15. I liked Darko ever since I watched an hour-long special on him just before he was drafted. I have followed him ever since ( which hasnt been too tough of a task) and keep hoping to see him become the player that he's supposed to be. I really think a trade would be best for him, since I dont see him getting much more PT any time in the near future. I'm seriously doubting that will happen though. You do have to wonder though: Do they wish they had drafted Carmello instead? Im not a big fan of him, but he is pretty good. I was thinking he was a center all this time
  16. *cringes* Law Enforcement . Thats gonna go over like a stripper at a Bar Mitzvah.
  17. Me too!! Thats, like, 4? I dont say a lot, but Im here
  18. I loved Moscow. Also visited Kiev and Moldovia ( former RUssia ) thd they were beautiful too. It seemed to me that the people have a very strong sense of national pride, which I liked a lot. Russian history has also been mentioned by many, of which I am also a fan of. I wish the leaders could get control of themselves financially, there was abundant poverty in every place I visited. On a side note, the one club I went to had plenty of hottie guys who loved to dance- i was dead tired at the end of the night. DOwnside to that was they played mostly late 80-s - early 90's rap. Oh well. I find myself cheering for them in the Olympics more than for my own country too.
  19. Amen to that
  20. I guess I should also throw in some of my favorites: I LOVE George R Martins books, A Song of Ice and Fire Robert Jordan Wheel of TIme Steven Kings' Dark Tower Series Robin Hobb Farseer and Golden Fool trilogies
  21. A year or so ago, I read the first 3 of R.A. Salvatore's books, The Crystal Shard, The Halflings Gem, and I can't remember the name of the other of the first 3. I read them, but they really didn't do it for me. I didn't connect with any of the characters, story's were ok ut not great, and all of that. Well, through many circumstances that I wont get into, I just picked of The Legacy. Im about 5 chapters in and I'm seeing pretty much the same stuff. Do his books get any better? I had heard that the Icewind Dale Trilogy were his first books, and that his writing gets far better afterwards, but thusfar I'm just not seein' it. My complaints-- Shallow characters who seem very unkillable ( C'mon, cant ya kill at least one off ? ),not deep enough storylines, and the always-happy endings. I WANT to like these books but so far they're not that great, IMO. Any thoughts? Oh BTW I wanted to pick up the Dark Elf Trilogy but they didnt have them at my bookstore, so I've just skipped ahead to the Legacy.
  22. Hey, Monte's been to my hometown! I do agree with most that Monte has said about us. Sometimes I think it takes an outside perspective to help us see what we are really like. I wish I could travel that much. Monte, to get an Alienware computer and travel that much, you must be RICH!!!
  23. I try not, I gotta keep my ass firm and toned and..........OH overHEATING!! My mistake.......
  24. ^^^ The Master speaks. What he said
  25. I agree with you on all of those except # 1 and 2. I would hate nothing worse than going to some town and having to talk with every last citizen there to find out what my next quest is going to be. I agree, the generic no-personality people that you have wandering the town for no other reason than to make it look like something besides a ghost town aren't the best, but I can hardly see a viable alternative. As for #2, I somewhat agree with you. In KOTOR the dark side options were pretty laughable, and I really dont think an evil person would take a lot of those options. Some people are BAD, but that doesn't mean they walk around extorting and robbing every person that they come across. But, I DO like options and the availability of options frequently-- it makes my gaming experience seem more complete. But hey, thats jsut me
