  1. Everyone must join the Church of Bioshock!
  2. Ok, so I'm exagerating a little bit about the crappiness of Half-Life's story. :"> Still, it's just a meh kind of story that does the job of keeping the game going forward. Which is all you ever do in the game, by the way: go forward and kill the baddies. It's Quake single-player with AI.
  3. Linearity doesn't make a story lame. But if you make a game completely linear for the sake of the story, and then, go ahead and write a crap story anyway, then what's the point of the linearity?
  4. And you've just defined the lameness of Half-Life. And th storyline is only good compared to FPSes who had the whole story explained in the readme so you're left with precisely squat plus a few cool technical innovations. Anyway, the real problem is that you can expect about zero game design innovation from any future Valve games.
  5. I was attempting to be humourous while at the same time making clear that I think such an idea is silly. I failed.
  6. I'd support an organization that helps women become bissexuals.
  7. Old fashioned? Haven't tattoos been around for ages?
  8. Barcelona was fun. When you weren't fighting, that is.
  9. My system runs it like the wind. :D
  10. why won't your parents help? Were you born in China?
  11. Neither, but I'd say it's closer to Gothic. To the best of my knowledge you never see your own face so you don't know what you look like. It's the way of System Shock. Dont expect character creation at the start of the game. However, I wouldn't call Oblivion's PC a blank slate in any way. You get to choose its appearence, sex and you can fiddle around with the attributes as you see fit.
  12. Neither, he's a blank slate.
  13. Character designs in Oblivion look like they were due sheer incompetence. The FaceGen program that they licenced for Oblivion makes better random faces than any in Oblivion. And, after about an hour and half with the game, I could make faces with Oblivion that were better than any faces the professional paid artists did for the game. It's like they couldn't even be bothered to do their jobs properly.
  14. I'd be honored. However, I'd rather have a free copy of NWN2. Doesn't even have to be a collector's edition. But of course, I believe the likelihood of that happening is generally referred to as "fat chance".
  15. Newell hates that. He thinks games should be linear, with as little options for the player as possible. Streamlined is the hype word. Go him.
  16. Yay!! My suggestion is loved by everyone! Do I get a prize if it wins?
  17. Neither, the character is a blank slate. The logo is the awesomeness! (w00t) (w00t)
  18. Another vote for The Thin Red Line. It's brilliant.
  19. Don't be angry Pretty Nose, but Keanu couldn't act his way out of a cardboard box. I've been told I bear a certain likeness to the guy, but I have a sneaking suspicion that my friends say it just to insult me. And I do. Feel insulted, I mean. On topic: I went to see Me and You and Everyone We Know. Not as infuriatingly romantic as I thought it would be. It's a great movie for a date.
  20. I'm listening to the soundtrack to The Thin Red Line. All film DVDs should come with the soundtrack as an extra.
  21. The stickied thread.
  22. Krookie has stated previously that he doesn't read books released before he was born. Which of course means he has never read anything worth reading. And by the way, You had to read Jurassic Park for school? Talk about low standards of teaching.
  23. Pidesco replied to Magena's topic in Way Off-Topic
I'm talking about proficiency, not just being able to speak basic English. Perhaps you need to widen your English vocabulary.
  24. Pidesco replied to Magena's topic in Way Off-Topic
Yes, but that doesn't mean that all languages are equal in terms of complexity. There's just more stuff to learn about Portuguese before you can become proficient than there is to learn about English.
