  1. I'm talking about proficiency, not just being able to speak basic English. Perhaps you need to widen your English vocabulary.
  2. Yes, but that doesn't mean that all languages are equal in terms of complexity. There's just more stuff to learn about Portuguese before you can become proficient than there is to learn about English.
  3. Which parts of Japanese are less complex than western languages?
  4. Yes, of course. I'm not saying that isn't true. But that doesn't mean that languages are all equally hard to learn. It's just that, for example, a Portuguese native speaker learns a lot about speaking Spanish while learning how to speak Portuguese, even if he isn't aware of it at first. As an example of what I'm trying to say, Portuguese is grammatically much more complex than English. Furthermore, Portuguese has a much larger vocabulary than English.
  5. Yes. It belongs to a subset of the Germanic group, which includes the other Scandinavian languages.
  6. No. There are no universal easy or hard languages to learn. The more different the language happens to be from your language the harder it is to learn. That isn't strictly true. Languages vary a lot in complexity. Japanese, for example is much more complex than any western language.
  7. Danish, Swedish and Norwegian are fairly easy to learn.
  8. English is much easier to learn then about any Romance language.
  9. Well, those are some of the hardest languages to learn in the world.
  10. Compared to which language?
  11. Isn't he a writer of the same sort as say, Tom Clancy, John Grisham or Dan Brown?
  12. It probably means he's a powergamer who min-maxed his stats.
  13. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Crichton a horrible writer?
  14. A new optical rat. My current one is on the verge of dying on me.
  15. Or hate is the reason love exists. You're silly.
  16. My idea with the Skeeter suggestion was precisely for it to be a somewhat obscure reference to one of the favourite games of the community. Something that would make people stop and think for a while before posting here. I do think that the "Black Isle 2" criticism is a valid one, and it might warrant, perhaps an also obscure, but less "Black Isly" suggestion. Perhaps a Wasteland reference.
  17. Plato was a pretentious idiot, with too much money for his own good. He was a genius, too, though.
  18. I can't wait for it to come out in Portugal. Anyway, it's directed by Richard Linklater, so just go see it. Keanu Reeves could be a problem, though.
  19. Remember, if it wasn't for said cheesiness, we would have gotten the cleavage we got in RA2.
  20. Vote Skeeter's Junkyard!
  21. You already did. There's an option for one of three formats, including QT. Awesome stuff. I honestly can't wait, I'm practically making little jumps while sitting. (w00t) Cool stuff: There was this one time in the demo where I did the stabbing finishing move against an orc, and then pushed that same orc against another orc, which stumbled back against one of those wooden pillars, broke it and proceeded to get pummeled by a bunch of barrels falling from the platform. Another situation was where I used ice on the floor, an orc slipped on it and fell against some crates which I then set fire to thus burning the orc.
