  1. Well... I'd be practically willing to bet that he first decided he didn't like games (probably out of prejudice), and then proceeded to search for reasons for his distaste of games, mostly by over rationalizing. "Games are not art" is the argument he came up with. I guess this is awfully judgemental on my part.
  2. Everyone else seems to think he was devaluing games, though. If not, then why did so many gamers get their panties all in a bunch over Ebert's comments?
  3. Perhaps when you use the word, but when Ebert uses the word "art", or "high art", or whatever, he's making a consideration of value. He is saying games are worse than movies because they are not art.
  4. That's actually kind of my point. All of this is subjective, like any other considerations on value.
  5. Let me rephrase that: Scary Movie set out to entertain a great deal of people and was very successful. Does that make it "good" art?
  6. The question is who and how many you are entertaining with your work. I find Persona (the film, not the game) enormously entertaing, but the vast majority of movie going peeps would find it an awful bore. Scary Movie set out to entertain a great deal of people and was very successful. Does that make it art?
  7. Yes, I did. Bioshock's soundtrack is sweet isn't it? Melvins - Revulsion/We Reach
  8. I can agree with that. Although, I think it will be a very long time until we get the gaming equivalent of something like, say, Meshes Of The Afternoon.
  9. Why do those songs have portuguese titles? Ion - O Efeito Do Amor
  10. But don't you have a bucket load of ammo to spend, anyway?
  11. I'm doing fine, my Canuck friend. How's the puppy?

  12. Spartan. Pretty good. It's nice to see Val Kilmer not sucking, for a change.
  13. Atreides was getting all philosophical on your ass.
  14. I kick ass, and I do it without the need for sissy force powers. I also have awesome wisecracks. And bad feelings about situations.
  15. Pretend this is a nice and cuddly comment, oh girly person

  16. I'm still waiting for the stupid release.
  17. I think I posted not too long ago in the Anime thread about that being so forked up.
  18. I have realiable intelligence info that this "Drego Bowl" comic is the greatest work of 'art' ever to come out of Japan. Supposedly, it's about constipated japanese children and ping-pong. I think it is an insult to humanity to compare it to Archie, a genial serialisation who has helped shaped generations of sound, non-sexually deviant, white people all over the world. Sandman is good, and that pretty much is it. (Is Bone american or british? ) Americans could never create anything similar to YKK "uhh, where's all the action duuude? wtf this **** is boring" etc. etc. Actually YKK could only come from Japan. But I really don't get your antijapanese standing. I mean, weeabo faggots are ****ing annoying, only furries and several other groups are worse, but that's just irrational and stupid. Thanks for comic paranoia in 50's (or was it 40's and whatever its official name it was) superheroes really became domineering and nearly only "allowed" form of comics in US. Things are much better now of course, but still, how many ****ing sucky superheroes one country can spit out? "Oh hai guise i has this new superpower but i also have this weakness for this random material lol but nvm i can breathe in ****ing space." Not any better than some goddamn godzilla. Only american comic that currently interests me great deal is The Dark Tower comic series, I'm sure they kick ass. But minority is still minority. Besides, point chinned wussies in pants are at least as bad as some frickin' Gundams. Japanese make more comics than any other country in world. They have huge loads of ****, but stuff from them that is pure Win exceeds every other country. And they've done much more experimental and avant garde stuff. Mind you, I have nothing against whole western comic scene, many european comics are awesome as are some american ones, but they have no chance against Japan. (I doubt there'll ever be day when some western comic will beat awesomeness of Nausicaa) Are you ignoring European comics just for the hell of it, or do you really don't know squat about them?
  19. Yes, both are crap. Now, European BD is the tr00 awesomeness Linky
  20. I also dislike manga, but it's not like it's any better than American comics. I meant worse... >_
  21. Yeah, paying fifty euros for a coaster is always awesome.
