  1. From the screenies, the GUI seemed pretty awful. It seemed like they pulled the same crap as in Oblivion: design a GUI for the console, and let the PC gamers suck it. How large are Fallout 3's font sizes, by the way?
  2. Also, he had bad taste in women. I believe that's the important fact which should be learned from his tenure as president. A president cannot be a good president if he has such a basic character flaw. Look at JFK: one of the most well liked American presidents of all time, and he was always surrounded by hawt women. Coincidence? I don't think so.
  3. Can't you choose the dogs' race? I want to attack my enemies with a massive pack of chihuahuas.
  4. Trying to get an S rating on DMC4. It's a bitch.
  5. Nothing beats Quake 2 for old school FPS action. Whether it be the single player campaign or just blowing up your best friends I always thought Quake 2 was the bastard stepchild of the series. I haven't played Quake 4, though. Quake 1 is still my favourite FPS for multiplayer, at least as far as memories go.
  6. As to combat, is it dependent on the player's reflexes or on the in-game statistics of the character or on both? Ouch - dialogue used to be one of BioWare's strong points. Hopefully, this will not carry through to other BioWare games, such as Dragon Age. The combat is dependent on both player skills and character stats . As for the dialogue, I think the crappiness derives mostly from the fact that they voice all of the main character's lines, both male and female. Due to this, Bioware was forced to reduce PC's lines to a minimum, which turns the "conversations" into idiotic interrogations where most of the player's lines are a variation of "Tell me about whatever", with the NPCs unloading info on the player as mechanically as possible. It's the kind of design decision Bioware has been making more and more. As Dragon Age won't have voiced PC lines, I'm hoping Bioware won't screw it up all over again.
  7. I'm not sure I'd call the main quest excellent. I'd say the main quest is competent. It's a shorter KOTOR with better combat. Of course, competent can go a long way when compared to much of the stuff that's usually released. Also, the exposition through dialogue can be pretty atrocious.
  8. Quantum of Solace. Pretty damn good. I was particularly impressed by how they made the action so frantic, yet followable. also, Bond as a really cold hearted bastard is working very well. He's never been more human. Finally, yay for the Goldfinger homage scene.
  9. I don't think most Europeans with half a brain, are of the opinion that Europe is some haven for healthy multiculturalism. Also, try not to lump the whole of Europe into one bag of xenophobia. The Portuguese are certainly more racist than the Swedes, for example. Anyway, every culture is filled with xenophobia, even if it manifests itself differently from culture to culture.
  10. See No Evil I'd like it if AP took some inspiration from this book. Not very likely, of course, even if Obsidian mentioned Syriana in one of the previews.
  11. One thing about the hubs is unclear to me. Are the hubs just the player's house used to keep stuff, or are the hubs one neighborhood, which is the location for the zone's main quest and includes your safehouse? The hub structure makes it sound like the gameworld isn't very continuous.
  12. Who still doesn't have a DVD drive on their PC? These days, it's like not having a mouse.
  13. Raven Shield. SWAT 4.
  14. He has an Icosa Core at 6.13 Thz, with 64 Teras of RAM, and a GeRadeon XXX666 GTX. However, he's running DOS 3.0 for security purposes. He can run Bouncing Babies, though (with a few dozen instances of Mo'slo running on top of each other).
  15. It's very paralyzing, though. And it doesn't affect me when I "only" care for the woman involved.
  16. As you go up in levels that's true, but in the first half of F2 melee isn't that easy. It's a cakewalk after you get slayer, of course.
  17. I fear rejection from the women I fall in love with.
  18. I want to have WoG's babies. It's just that good.
  19. I'd like to see Obsidian make a game where the party NPC interaction is a mixture of Torment and BG2.
  20. Fallout 1 is the tighter, better designed game, but fallout 2 takes the cake for me, because of the melee combat. Crotch and eye punching my way to victory, FTW.
  21. I'd like to remind people that Mass Effect's side content is filler of the worst kind. Functionally, you basically visit the same planet dozens of time, using a moon buggy that controls like ass, and yet provides no challenge whatsoever.
  22. I just wish they'd stay away from D&D, and FR in particular, for the next 10 years.
  23. In Bruges is pretty effing awesome! Even Colin Farrel is good in it.
  24. I get the feeling that people are happy about Fallout 3's dialogue because their comparing it with the Elder Scrolls games.
