I thought the black dragons would be harder, but the fight was actually quite uneventful. When I went to fight the fire giants, I thought, this is it, now I am going to get my ass kicked. But it was extremely boring, just the same straightforward hack and slash. I dont understand what happened to difficult battles in RPGS. Why dont developers design something that is actually challenging for the players anymore?

I chose the option to attack both the dragon and the giants. I completely butchered them. In fact, my frames dropped to less than 1 in 3 seconds, which severely limited my ability to own the dragon and the giants, but it was still a complete massacre.

Anyone who says that NWN2 doesnt have good graphics is a liar. The graphics are excellent, much better than KOTOR2. With anti aliasing, and in the future maybe even HDR the graphics are bound to get even better.

I only get about 4 FPS outdoors. Indoors I can get about 2... This is at 1600x1200 with all the best texture settings, maximum lights and bloom.

In my experience the lawful good options normally get you influence with Elanee. Also, try to click on any option that has something to do with the land or nature.

Ive got a 9800 pro and I just got the omega drivers to work properly on my laptop. I think my performance has improved a bit. I also think that I got better performance before the last patch... That might have screwed things up a bit for me.

Deraldin, you get an extra attack every 6 BAB, right? AFAIK wizards get 1/2 BAB per level so with 8 levels of wizard, you lose 4 BAB out of a possible 20, which means no 4th attack which comes at BAB 18. Or have I got BAB progression wrong? Has it been changed in 3.5? My favourite spellcasting feat by far is enhance spell! Empower is also awesome. His character might also want to go for some crafting feats. ******************************************************** Berserk, wizards and fighters get the same amount of skill points at the beginning, however, it would be better to start as a wizard. Most of the skills you will be using such as concentration and spellcraft are class skills of the wizard, so you can put 4 points in them at character creation, whereas if you were a fighter you would only be able to put 2 points, and it would cost you double. Also, the first two levels you get come within about 30 minutes of character creation, so you will be able to take fighter levels and get the bonus feats soon enough.

The problem is that you need quite a lot of feats since you will probably want to take both spellcasting and melee feats. Under normal circumstances you can only have 7 feats total, which IMO is way too little. Sun Elf is a good choice if you want to focus on magic, otherwise I would go for a normal human or even a moon elf. Being a human will give you an extra skill point per level and will also give you another feat. It will also allow you to avoid the XP penalty. I believe sun elfs favored class is wizard, and perhaps moon elf as well, if so then that will also allow you to avoid the XP penalty and is another point in favor of choosing elves. I would take at least 2 fighter levels since thats 2 free feats, and you cant go wrong with that. For the remaining levels, 10 wizard and 8 eldritch knight is optimal because you would get 2 bonus spellcasting feats from the wizard levels. You can always use your companions for the skills. Also, dont forget that wizards have high intelligence which translates to LOTS of free skillpoints. As you level and boost your INT you will keep racking up the skillpoints. Also the rogue level will lead to you having an XP penalty as an elf, and I assume that an EK build would need to level up fairly quickly, so that leaves human as the best option. IMO there is no use for the rogue levels. I believe that there is a feat called practiced spellcaster or something like that which will increase your spellcasting levels by upto 4. If you take that then you might want to only take 7 levels of EK, and take 1 level of whatever class you feel will help you. However I dont know if this feat is even really available or if it is bugged or something.

The game can only get better compared to what its like now. But improvements to shadows, water and trees alone is not enough... The indoor and urban environments is where I get the worst lag.

Which ones? Is it the crafting skills?

I dont think that this was intentionally planned. I think that this was just due to really crappy area design on Obsidians part, because I noticed that the enemies normally spawn behind you in the very few areas where you can take multiple paths. I think this is because you can set of the triggers twice, or even more times, if you pass through the area in the wrong way. In the , I had the exact same encounter THREE times, because each time I entered the room through a different path or door!!!

Maybe shes just a cleric because of the rules change from 2E to 3E. WOTC might have decided that Zerths would be clerics instead of fighter/mages. Or maybe Obsidian needed to put a cleric into the game. And you could also be right.

Upgrade? Or just repair? If an upgrade is really possible, how do you do it?

I wouldnt expect any difficult battles. Im in chapter 3 now and there has only been 1 fight so far that has made me reload. The companions are the best and also the worst (well, one of the worst since theres a lot wrong with the game) part of NWN2. There are many cool party members but crappy ones are always forced into your party. One who is probably the most one dimensional and stupid character in the history of RPGS is forced into your party for a third of the game.

Sand is awesome. Elanee, Neeshka, Khelgar, Grobnar and Bishop are good too. Shandra, Qara and Casavir are too one dimensional. Shandra is the worst of them all... bloody sheepwoman!!!! Its a damn shame that they never banter amongst each other...

Now I'm getting stuttering regardless of settings. Completely unplayable now, just beautiful. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Same situation here. I have horrible stuttering even on the lowest frame rates. And the game looks really awful on the lowest settings.
