  1. Back then all revolvers used to be hand manufactured and put together by skilled professionals so the quality was generally the best that was possible. Now they're mass produced, both revolvers and automatics and that drags down both their appeal and quality. The Colt SAA of today is very much an overpriced handgun considering its mass manufacturing. Even so, revolvers are generally more durable than automatics. The standard jams that can happen to an automatic don't happen to a revolver. On the other hand, if an internal part breaks it has to be sent to whomever manufactured it, for repair. With an automatic a child could replace the broken part and be back in action. Revolvers can also carry a multitude of different calibers all of them generally more powerful than in an automatic. So when GD says it the best gun ever made he's talking about a multitude of things: the great aesthetics, the manufacturing quality, the power of the gun and most of all the historical appeal. Its a complete package in that regard. Today's service weapons are arguably uglier and not as well made but the key advantages of increased bullet capacity and less weight - is something no professional would want to trade away. And obviously the single action which is a big no no. So, its a great gun - its just not as practical for police/army use as the newer ones. Fine for everyone else though.
  2. I agree. If you need more than 6 bullets to kill it, its probably Cthulhu and you should have been running, not shooting. The moment I get a Ruger Vaquero or S&W model 17 I'm done with guns. As much as I like assault rifles all I could do with one is prance about until it accidentally discharges in my foot. At least a handgun is theoretically justified as a home defense weapon.
  3. All I can say brother: Better you than me
  4. Types of romances you liked Relatioship/Romance Thread I Relationship/Romance Thread II Relationship/Romance Thread III Relationship/Romance Thread IV Romance and Friendships Romances, Yay or Nay? The Romances If Romances are Included A Suggestion for the Romances you're considering (if any) Sex and Romance Poll Its a reoccurring topic. AHAHAHAHAHHAH ...although... its more eternal than reoccurring. I don't think we get a break in between.
  5. Well I'd trade all of those for a nice engraved Colt SAA.
  6. Why is everything in cinemas today borderline un-watchable. Every time I go I feel like I paid someone to kick me in the nuts.
  7. That is a good... justification for lazy art. :D
  8. I do wonder at how they come up with a design of the 'look' of the gun. US and Russian weapons generally keep looking the same though, just with rails and foregrips. Hm...some one needs to put rails on a Mosin-Nagant. Actually the Israeli Tavor is rather similar. And then there's the experimental US army X-23 or whatever its called, a fully modular rifle. And the good old Austrian Steyr Aug. Its all derivations of a similar bullpup design. They don't look exactly alike but they follow a similar overall trend worldwide. There's probably an effort to make it look different on purpose so that it can stand out and be easy to remember. There is a necessity to change things around to keep the sales going even though everyone knows that assault rifles have hit a dead end a long time ago. You'll see more of these designs in hollywood movies than in actual war. The one assault rifle I'd like to have that every Swiss who has served in the army has is SIG 550: It used to be (still might be) the most expensive assault rifle due to quality Swiss manufacturing. (and perhaps over-inflated SIG prices). I really like the overall shape though.
  9. First good news I've heard from Bioware for a long time
  10. Dostoyevsky gave a pretty accurate depiction of what would happen to the son of God were he to return.
  11. <My eyes are going to fall out of their sockets. Pixel art is hard.
  12. That's the saddest part. It looks like a cheap chinese sci-fi toy gun but it can still kill you easy as pie. Its like being savaged by a rubber duck, you're left with no dignity at all in addition to being dead.
  13. Sold a Mauser 98 FR-8 308Win to buy a longer version (not the carbine version) of this rifle: As much as I love black tacticool modern rifles, nothing beats old simple military surplus warhorses, wood and steel, they just work and they're on the very top of my ''aesthetically pleasant things'' - list. Completely agree! The prize of my collection is a US Army issue Springfield 1903. My dad bought it at a surplus store in the 50's. I won't even shoot is anymore. It's on display in my living room. I remember watching this guy's videos on YT. He's quite interesting to listen to. I think the new generation of polymer weapons is as ugly and crude as it gets. Sorry, wood and steel, preferably blued, all the way. S&W model 17, Ruger Vaquero and AK 47* . Case closed. *all of them hernia inducing
  14. I see, so no real good reason then I bought 2-3 keys for Team Fortress 2 crates (lottery type curiosity) and nothing before or since. I'd never buy DLC. Usually the price of the game is what i'm willing to spend on it. a teaspoon sized helping of content does nothing for me either way. Especially not later when I'm already done with the game.
  15. Don't be so anti social, there are a ton of us from the forum in the Steam group
  16. Quite interesting: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p01brr81
  17. Actually the most interesting aspect of this case is how things quickly spiral out of control in the US when race becomes an element. Russia Today is covering plenty of protests all over the US, some of them violent.
