I could never emulate something I didnt own. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I could never own something I can't read. Emulation/Translation allows you to play games the Japanese companes didn't have the insight to translate and localize. If they wanted my money, they should have translated/localized it. Also, game companies should be greatful for emulation/translation... I probably never would have purchased Romancing Saga last month if I hadn't played Romancing Saga 3 (translated) a few years back.

I love the job system. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> 5's system is definately my favorite, with x-2's being my second favorite.

3 had a job system that was very much like 5's... I can't remember if you can mix and match abilities though... it's been too long.

I played the translation on an emu a few years back... it's probably the better version.

It doesn't make sense though... customers want options. and if they had such a problem with game resales places like EB and Gamestop wouldn't be doing it. I know one thing, if they do use this technology I won't be buying their console... I rarely buy used games, but if I miss one when it comes out, sometimes that's the only real option. Looks like I might only be getting a Rev

Yup, that market dies out too... a lot of people rent games either because they don't want to commit to a full purchase "or" to try before they buy.

That's the thing though, a lot of casual players (and many many young gamers) buy their games.. play them once... then trade them in on their next game. Remove that option from the equation and game sales will drop.

If this is true... yeah, that would pretty much kill their console. Used games sales is the better half of the market.

What about All in all the game basically caused the FPS genre to take a good hard look at itself and see what was wrong. before this came out story was secondary to "KILL SMASH MAIM DESTROY... in a fashion that made it fairly difficult." Then with the creation of this the Story became somthing everyone had to add to their game. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's a shame only Deus Ex has gotten it right though. System shock 2 did horror the best though.
