  4. Justify? I think it's pretty telling that most of your highlevel piracy areas (like the country Roshan is in) tend to have higher priced games compared to how much the gamers make. There will always be piracy, but maybe this is one of the factors leading to the static game prices?

    Well... since a mod directed people to post here.... Overall I have zero problems with the moderators. But I think the "pruning" that one mod in particular does without even telling those who's posts he deletes is very unfair and at times a bit upsetting. Said moderator also seems to enjoy doing it far too much. When you delete someone's post you should give them a reason directly, or in the thread as to why said deletions occur... otherwise misunderstandings occur.

  9. However making short and or poor games is a sure fire way not to sell them. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Games take resources to make, if you don't make a decent profit with game A, you won't have the resources to make game B... and then you dry up and blow away like Troika did.

  12. I dunno, Hades has a point. Didn't Feargus make a post a long time ago about how the price of games has stayed constant, but the cost to produce them has shot thru the roof? Even if the price doesn't double, I don't think shifting things from the 30-50 range to the 40-60 range would be unreasonable.... especially since games cost, what, 5-20 million to make these days?

  14. I'm not sure about... willingly (though of course if I wanted it I would) but if a game had BG2's depth, PS:T's story and K2's graphics on top of NWN's modability... yeah, I'd probably fork over 100$ for it.

  18. Yikes, I had no idea. Hmm... you may be right.... but wouldn't that hurt the sales and thus the market since a lot of... umm... short or weak games are being made? And I don't see people dishing out 50-70$ for a short or underdeveloped game.

  23. Um, em, gee. 3 consoles to 1 PC. 3:1? I don't know about you guys, but the EBGames I go to has about half the titles for PC that they do for Xbox, on the little horizontally displayed racks with the new releases, but then they have about ten times the old games in stock, placed vertically like books, all up and down the back wall. It is pretty much the same for the Gamecube games, with a somewhat larger selection of PS2 games. Handhelds are all on their own little wall near the entrance, as are new realeases. Somebody must be buying all the 'not quite as new' games. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The EB I usually go to the ratio is far greater... for actual store area used I'd say maybe 6:1 console to PC game ratio. Consoles just move faster and in greater quantities.
