That's kinda out of left field. Not sure if you're being flippant or if it's coming from experience.

Defense aside, the Rockets are trying to put together a roster that will shatter the all time season FT and 3pt attempts record.

Puzzles in crpgs
Leferd replied to Hiro Protagonist II's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
I don't like any puzzles where you have to step in certain blocks just so, in order to activate the whatchamacallums. If your pixels are off just so much, it won't work. Leads to frustration more than anything. -
For me, in order of preference: 1) Pillars of Eternity 2) Wasteland 2 3) Torment: Tides of Numenara 4) Unannounced Obsidian Kickstarter
-
that part don't bother us. am not so much concerned with getting a new torment soon. if wasteland 2 becomes a long warm-up for torment, then so much the better. am admitting that we have more confidence in the obsidian developers ability to deliver a competent product in a timely fashion. we expect obsidian execution to be better. we will need to wait and see which game is more creative. 'course it ain't like there is an actual competition 'tween torment and poe. am expecting that is largely the same folks backing both titles. we would be overjoyed with two good games that is enjoyable for much different reasons. HA! Good Fun! Fair enough. I've played around with the W2 beta and it's progressing nicely enough. I've only gone as far as the Ag Center, which was designed by Avellone, so I can't speak to the rest of the game but from what I've seen, it shows some promise. Not a fan of the UI though, and it's somewhat difficult to do something as mundane as drag and drop.

Not Mass Effect 4 or Morrowind VI.

Good to know. Been following the game diligently but didn't remember this particular tidbit. -
But she cannot appear in Torment. (at least not officially. )They haven't the rights to use any Planescape:Torment characters, and it's an awful shame that she will never be able to admit it in the game. we can hope that the developers o' the new torment game come up with something unique and profound that will be forcing Gromnir to reevaluate what we thought were possible in a crpg. ravel were that kinda character. sure, we feel nostalgic whenever we see ravel in a new obsidian game, but we would be even more thrilled if inXile complete surprises with something beautifully unexpected. HA! Good Fun! I'm not too high on this project as I am with Eternity. I backed it on Kickstarter but from the design perspective, they seem to have too many chefs in the kitchen. Additionally their creative lead and top technical designer have both been out of the video game business for years - and distressingly, they've been in a state of extended pre-production work due to the delay of Wasteland 2.

For the love of God back this on Kickstarter.

More like carbonated mineral water for me. -

I would totally get this but can't possibly justify it as I'm not the beer drinker I was in college. -

Don't remember when or where but Josh mentioned it. -
I don't want to open a can of worms and make this is a debate over doping, but in Messi's case, he ain't doping. He had a legitimate medical condition - human growth disorder, that can have serious implications on him leading a normal, healthy life. As Kgambit stated, FC Barcelona paid for his treatment on the basis that he was already a supremely talented young footballer, and not out of altruism, but because of that, Messi was lucky as his family background was quite modest. Not going to begrudge a guy for legitimately taking HGH for its intended medical purpose and then making a living off his talents. It's not even really relevant because again, he stopped taking it years ago (when he was still a kid) thus, he's not doping. Lionel Messi was blessed that he was given the treatment back when he did, and now the whole world can enjoy his talents. Enjoy him while you still can because he is in the prime of his career and he is a once in a generation talent, and I'd like to see him play some more at this World Cup.

AngryJoe Interview PoE
Leferd replied to GrayAngel's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
That's why I initially compared it specifically with his other e3 interviews, which all received atleast double the hits as the Eternity video. -
I wouldn't be too worried about the implications. As you alluded to, in Messi's case, he took HGH treatment as a child for legitimate and serious medical reasons. He stopped taking them before reaching adulthood and becoming a professional. Whatever physical benefits he derived from HGH was for medical reasons and not specific to gain advantage as a footballer. Nor is he currently receiving HGH treatment that would give him a physician advantage over his peers. Good enough for my book.

you know, that is what cheeses us off 'bout poe development. we saw interview where we got developers saying that 'cause this is kickstarter, the fans know everything 'cept story. not true. we don't know genuine how combat works and we ain't seen character generation and leveling. we don't know functional advantages o' different races. sure, we has been told the special powers o' each class, but guess what, if you tell us that d&d rogues get uncanny dodge and backstab and more skill points without giving context o' d20 system, such stuff is largely meaningless. this game is near to being released as beta (a kinda faux beta if obsidian is serious 'bout a 2014 release) and we still don't know how poe works. ... is not so much that we don't know how poe mechanics will function so much as is bothersome when developers pretend like we know everything. guess what, we don't. am still guessing if we get attributes boost or how all those derived stats is generated on the one freaking screenie o' a character sheet we has seen. for a game we know everything about but story, we is feeling left much in the dark 'bout how poe actual plays. HA! Good Fun! This is true. Since we know that Obsidian purportedly reads most of these threads, maybe we can get an answer on this particular point from Josh, Adam, or Brandon et al - if even only for the "still under revision/subject to balancing" reply. -

I don't get that. People get stronger, faster, sturdier, and wiser everyday. Comes with practice, repetition, and experience. On the opposite, you can also lose them through atrophy. Adventuring should at the least, make a person tougher. -
AngryJoe Interview PoE
Leferd replied to GrayAngel's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
It's just an observation. Not expecting the game to blow up and become the next minecraft, but worth noting that the video is on pace to be one his least popular to date. And this includes his coverage of other indie games. To be fair, it's not a review, and those tend to get the big hits. -
AngryJoe Interview PoE
Leferd replied to GrayAngel's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Well, this particular Angry Joe e3 interview so far has only 42,000 hits. Comparing that to his other e3 interviews, this got half as less many hits as the next least popular interview, with most receiving over 100,000. By comparison, a good chunk of his videos get several hundred thousand and up to a couple million hits. -

Every four levels sounds about right. This is assuming that each attribute point actually has a measurably impact on the character. -

I'm not sure if we have any verified official information on this. If implemented, I would much a prefer a conservative progression of maybe 1pt every 4 or 5 levels. -
How so? He's still 5-ft 7 and he's not particularly fast or strong. He doesn't rely on athleticism to dominate the competition. If anything, his small frame gives him a lower center of gravity and greater agility. He's able to squeeze in through openings and have superior ball control in tight spaces.
