What you did today
I wnt out to run with my brother today. i ran for five minutes. What in the seven hells? Only five minutes? You might ask yourselves and I'd say that's a very legitimate question. The thing is that he is way faster than me and weighs 20 kilograms less than me. What I did was: Tell him I was going to run at his tempo today. He gave me a look, almost like I was crazy and then said "Uh, sure, if you say so". I expected to last 1 minute but I lasted 5 minutes. Not bad at all. The pace was much faster than I'm used to but damn did it feel good. I had to walk the rest of the way, not because my legs hurt or me getting tired or heart beating to fast. What happened was that I got a stitch (that's the right word, right?) and it hurt like hell. It was still a great feeling running at that pace and I'm looking forward to the next time we do this. Tomorrow I'm going for interval training. I love that kind of training and it really feels like you get a quick result in getting better fitness. I've lost two kilograms in the last week and it feels great. I'll start whatever new work I get as a more fit man.

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS
I liked GTAIV but I still consider Vice City to be the most fun game in the series. I actually beat it twice. I never finished San Andreas. I think I had completed 80% of the game but then I just didn't feel like playing anymore. In GTAIV, I completed many of the main story missions and then quit playing it for almost a year. Went back to it and beat the remaining missions. There were only like 3 or 4 left at that point. I've played every game in the series, including all the portable games. I'll be picking this up day one.

It annoys you? It makes me go crazy!

What are you playing now?
It only gives you two saves between checkpoints. This is frustrating if you save too early and have no saves left. I had used up all my saves for the biggest level in the game. I then killed of every enemy silently only to get shot by a sniper (the boss I presume) seemingly oit of nowhere. While he did his job in excellent fashion, the developers did not. Yet I keep playing the damn thing.

Which one is bad? I liked FEA enough(played every English FE release and FE4 and FE6 through translated emulators) but thought it screwed the pooch when it came to balancing skills and enemy reinforcements. DARK is the bad one, yet I can't stop playing. Think I've played it for 4 hours. I've left the game on without touching it for another 6 hours. I can forgive the game not being an amazing product but I can't forgive the awful save system. Someone needs to take a bullet in their kneecap for that one.

What you did today
Hmmm, Hawaii is expensive as hell assuming you want to stay on Oahu, Maui or Hawai'i. I'd say go to the US Virgin Islands. Almost the same thing at half the price and a lot closer. I took my ex-wife to Hawaii a long time ago. It was fun. I wouldn't do it again, but it was fun. Maui is the place I'm interested in visiting, but it appears that the ones I'm going on vacation with got cold feet when they saw the plane ticket prices alone. Greece seems to be decided on. Oh well, I'll save Hawaii for a possible future honeymoon.

I've been playing DARK and Fire Emblem: Awakening. The quality of these games is like night and day.

I want to take a vacation somewhere, but I don't know where. Been looking at New York or Hawaii, but knowing me, I'll probably end up in Greece.

I don't blame them. He should have done as they said and lay down on the ground.

Swedish police is the best. I might be just a little bit biased because I'm a Swede and know a few cops. Not very biased, just a little.

Update #58: Crafting with Tim Cain!
It's true that we will have to tune whatever values we wind up using for money you get and money you spend, but my higher-level concern is systemic. If there aren't core systemic drains, many players will simply wind up with a lot of money toward the end of the game. Many of you don't seem to care about this, but as I said earlier, I've heard complaints about it on every game I've shipped. People will complain about everything. I'd rather have a lot of gold left than have to focus on repairing items in this type of game. If item degradation is in the game for the sole reason of making the player spend money, I think it is a bad reason to include it at all.

Update #58: Crafting with Tim Cain!
but I don't think this is such a big issue. I don't like it in any game to be honest. I just didn't think it was as big of a chore in a game with one controllable character. I don't like item degradation in general. I didn't like it in Arcanum and I didn't like it in Dragon Age: Origins. Uhhh. . . . DA:O didn't have a durability stat for weapons. Whatever game it was, I didn't like it.

What you did today
Went for a long walk when I woke up. Went for another one at !8.30. Then lifted some weights when I got home. Sitting and staring at the computer screen all day won't do.

Update #58: Crafting with Tim Cain!
I love finding unique items in dungeons or fallen enemies. I also like to find new unique items in stores. I want to spend that gold. One could balance that in some way. There are lots of games where you have a crap ton of money by the end simply because you didn't actually have to buy new equipment from stores. In a lot of rpgs, I've been disappointed that the stores sell stuff, but I might buy only a few items for the entire game because they don't offer interesting enough items. Not using consumables? I use them a lot. I sometimes have a party without a healer or sometimes one healer but he/she isn't enough. Potions are invaluable in those cases. Durability just adds a not so fun component to the game. I don't want to keep up with repairs and stuff for eight different characters. I could accept it in New Vegas, only controlling one character, but even in that game, I could happily have lived without item durability. Maybe use money to bribe people? Pay fines if you get yourself in trouble? If you decide to have a respec option, make it very expensive.

Is project eternity the best managed kickstarter game?
Wasteland 2 seems to be very well managed, but I can't say what goes on behind closed doors.

Barbarians in Project Eternity will lose less health than other classes when taking damage
In a boss encounter, I would figure that paladins and fighters go toe to toe with the boss and the barbarian cleans up the minions.
