  1. Maybe they just like to... watch.
  2. Everyone loves a good defenestration.
  3. The ninja police was fun to fight with but the damn parkour boss was undisarmable(yes), which sucked. I don't think you can knock him off buildings either.
  4. I'm thinking more about that "boss cutscene" with the ex-wrestler business guy conspiracy or whatever where he's trying to throw you off the building. I don't think they even tell you when to press the button. I had to redo that one about 800 times. Weapons (even the pipe Ropeburn was using) all flash red when you are able to disarm them. It's part off the runner vision thing that is turned off on hard mode. I really like this game and have played it through maybe a dozen times since I picked it up a few months back. It's short enough that a full run can be completed in one sitting. I've only got time trials completed for the first three levels of the game. It is a very linear game, but the number of things you can do to shave those extra seconds off a run is actually pretty impressive. The first few times through a level can be a little confusing, but once you've got the route in mind, finally nailing that perfect run is quite possibly the most fun I've had with a game in the past year. EDIT: Krezack, when you start playing some time trials, gimme your name and we'll see who can outrun the other. Also, I appear to be the only person every to actually like the cutscenes. Would the game have been any worse without the lame and cliche plot? The parkour stuff was enjoyable until all the annoying snipers and whatnot popped in.
  5. Fenster is a window-making company here
  6. Anyone else think of this?
  7. Victory by default, the best kind of victory.(also the saddest)

  9. Being somewhat(totally) unfamiliar with anime, does it matter? I wasn't using it as a derogatory term, I prefer to use japanimation as a derogatory term, because it sounds funny. The bottom line is that it was unnecessary and out of place with the rest of the game. EDIT: Too late, I already minded. I can see your point, though.
  10. Hehe, wow, nowadays anything that's drawn and isn't liked is labeled anime? I'm no expert, but it looked like anime to me. I use anime as a way to describe it, the fact that they sucked had more to do with the lack of story or relevance to them. I don't have anything against anime. The game could have used less cutscenes and more levels... EDIT: Also, the drawn-Faith looked weird and not much like the in-game Faith.
  11. The only good thing to come out of Mirror's Edge was the theme song. The anime-style cutscenes were atrocious, it's like someone threw them together during a lunch break.
  12. TOR is The Old Republic, the upcoming KotOR MMO...
  13. To be fair they aren't the usual X/Y/A/B quick time events. You just have to press the disarm key at the right time to disarm people and you can even slow down time to do it. It's much more fun to slide into people and get their guns though...
  14. I didn't like the game all that much, but I actually enjoyed gunning down people with the stuff I got from disarming enemies. Also, the game was pretty well optimized for PCs, which is a rare sight these days.
  15. He was so awesome in his rebellion against authority, I'm sure he inspired a whole generation of angsty JRPG protagonists.
  16. Achron finally a bit more like a game.
  17. While I like the setting. The 1 gazillion d6 die you need to play is anal. Yeah, but the dice pool mechanic offers a lot more flexibility and makes critical failures happen when they should.
  18. Awesome! My search skills are weak.
  19. Barkley, Shut Up and Jam: Gaiden is a freeware JRPG about basketball and satire, in a word it is awesome. It's a great parody of JRPGs and only about ~2h long. You can get it from here along with a trailer and screenshots. The turn-based combat has some interesting mini-minigames(Penny Arcade adventures style) to keep it interesting. Also, Space Jam is canon.
  20. Don't ask me, I'm not really into the NWN2 mod scene. Just move/rename them all and if it works put them back one by one.
  21. DnD has never really been that great. It was the start of PnP RPGs and suffers a lot because of that. The (default) setting is very generic and needs a good DM to make something other than a dungeon crawl. The rules aren't really good either. What a PnP RPG really needs is a great setting like Call of Cthulhu and rules that aren't hard to learn, but are functional.
  22. Sounds like all those mods are screwing things up. Try removing/disabling them one at a time if you don't fancy a complete reinstall(better option).
  23. I totally agree. Considering how successful Bioware is with Mass Effect, you'd think that more companies would go back to making RPGs with dialog trees and stuff...
  24. Mass Effect says hi.(without the cool part)
  25. If that did it then congrats! Though, I'd have tried a reinstall before all the other crazy stuff.
