  1. He did put up Torment and Deus Ex as examples of good games in an episode long ago.
  2. You make it sound so tragic. You can play TW games, adventure games and RPGs. Playing all of them is pretty sweet.
  3. Umm, yeah, I'm not really into comics and I still get nightmares about that Heavy Metal South Park episode, so no thanks. Any official word on the giant weapons, Maria? Have they always been this giant?
  4. PC and Xbox 360: North America: November 3, 2009 Europe: November 6, 2009 PS3: Some time after that.
  5. Yup, I saw it too.
  6. On the other hand World Of Warcraft is halfway manga. Mirrors Edge was reminescent of manga designs, with its clear lines. The last Prince of Persia was very manga-like in its appearance. Its catching on, albeit slowly. Going back to the topic - Dragon Age so far looks passably good. I wish they could have tried a more mood setting graphical design like in the Witcher (gloomy, run down) rather than the standard fantasy fare, but we'll have to see more to pass judgment on that. I'm talking about crazy-big weapons here, not manga in general. And PoP had nothing manga about it, they just used a watercolor art style to make it look pretty.
  7. But certainly you're gonna give AP a try? It's their first "real" game. No sequel, but their thing. Nope, I find both the setting and the gameplay to be appalling... I am not looking for pseudo-rpgs, yet it seems this is what the market offers these days... I am pretty disappointed with the way the rpg market has become. All I am looking for is to get a similar experience as in the IE games... To this date, among the most recent games, only NWN2 provided me this. I may give a try at Dragon Age but it will probably be the last Bio game I will be playing as the company is merely a shadow of its past glorious self. I guess sitting in a corner, crying and cutting yourself while listening to Linkin Park is way more fun.
  8. How come the weapons in Prince of Persia and Assassin's Creed were normal sized? They were also normal sized in NWN2 and The Witcher. This seems more like a new thing here.
  9. 2.5D Hoedown featuring 'Splosion Man and Trine.
  10. Everyone is talking about Trials HD, but does anyone remember the games that actually spawned it? Action Supercross: And Elasto Mania: You can find the shareware versions of both of them online.
  11. They wouldn't be reading an internet forum, now would they?
  12. Let me know how that turns out. I'm not seeing the manga/anime influence, they just look stupidly oversized, like they're made out of foam. And they swing them like baseball bats half the time.
  13. That would explain the history Poland then What? Absinthe is awesome, it was banned in America because of some old law where some crazy person thought that it was poisonous for no good reason. We are talking about the alcohol, right?
  14. The title was more of a bad joke. I'm not really calling anyone racist. Someone just screwed up really bad in Microsoft. Why couldn't they get another piece of clip art with more appropriate people? Going out of your way to make the black guy white is really weird. I'm sure the Polish people wouldn't have noticed/cared about the black guy. At least there will always be funny photoshops:
  15. That's always been the standard operating procedure for places with an open comments system. As for the trailer, is there some law in Ferelden that everyone must have a weapon at least as large as they are? Otherwise it was OK, nothing to really complain about.
  16. That's my understanding as well. As for cracking it, I don't see why. How often do you have a LAN situation, but no internet connection? I'm sure the single player will be cracked, but the battle.net stuff will probably take a while.
  17. "You humans are so new to me. You're so short lived and full of energy. Unlike those Salarians who only live 40 years and act like they're minelining coffee. The alien race my people have interacted with for several thousand years. And you humans are so aggressive and goal oriented. Unlike those Korgans my race dealt with while never getting our hands dirty. So, really, your species is hardly unique, but this is a science fiction story, so I have to talk about how strange and exciting the human race is." I like Liara, but most of her conversations were blatant ego stroking. It's was more of a general comment. You'd think she would learn some basic interaction skills over all those years. I also mostly liked her, but the whole archeologist thing didn't really fit.
  18. I think I'll start BGII again with a wild mage. Never tried that before. There's a pretty nice addon pack for the wild mage with extra craziness. I think it's this one.
  19. Where have you read this? Last time I checked Blizzard said multiplayer can only be played on Battle.net. Then again, I haven't been following the issue for about two months now, so it could have changed, but can you link me to the source? Thanks! That's not a done deal. ...And since it was short and only to correct me, Purkake's response to my post doesn't count. http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/60156 There's the link above. I don't know if we can count that as LAN. I'm thinking a game where can play independent of an internet connection. *shrug* Actually my point was only that it wouldn't matter. Even if we all share a T1 connection, we'll be just fine. The big thing is being able to have a private room for five or six people. That's pretty much what I was talking about. It's LAN with DRM.
  20. She had tentacles for hair. Weird how that never came up in a conversation... My problem with her was that she didn't have tentacles in the important places. How do you know
  21. She had tentacles for hair. Weird how that never came up in a conversation...
  22. Liara showed a remarkable amount of thought and level-headedness while still landing a few zingers on Ashley/Kaiden, especially for someone who's never been in a relationship before. I love how there are 100+ year old aliens who are still "young" and haven't learned anything about other people in all that time. I'm sure there's a TVtrope for that...
  23. And she writes and acts in her webseries, The Guild, as I said before.
  24. If it makes the rounds on the web, it will also be a PR disaster. "Microsoft hates black people"
  25. It's not fake, look at the links in the Engadget article. Sure, I can understand why they would do it, but it is still hilariously stupid.
