  1. Because 99% of them were really stupid. They ate tires for heaven's sake!
  2. Hmm, I didn't know it was a shooter. That's pretty weird. I think the subgenre needs a better name than puzzle-RTS. Something like Squad-Based Stealth Strategy...
  3. What about Commandos: Strike Force? Is it so bad that no one talks about it?
  4. The lack of buffs is a bit weird. The Monk seems to be more about self-buffing than helping others out. I'm sure the Witch Doctor has something like the Necromancer's curses, but the remaining 5th class must be some kind of ranged buffer. Otherwise it makes no sense.
  5. It's only $49.99 USD on Steam from what I see. Are you looking at something different? Different price in a different country perhaps (I'm in Canada)? Using my razor sharp wit and Batmanish deducting skills I would think that putting the price in Australian dollars and having his location set as Australia implies that he does indeed live in Australia where the game costs ~$70 on Steam, because of the conversion rate.
  6. I know, as far as I've heard Desperados 2 pales in comparison with 1, Helldorado is borken, Robin Hood is decent and I only found Chicago 1930 on mobygames just recently. Commandos goes to crap after 2 right?
  7. For extra lulz check out the trailer for " ". And check out "The Mist" based on Stephen King's novel of the same name.
  8. Crap, change my answer to Desperados, I totally didn't consider it an RTS. The UFO series has some awesome stuff, but the horrible level designs and having to defend your stuff every five seconds made it really annoying. I really liked all the research, base building and weapon/item stuff. It's like no one has ever played any of the games, weird.
  9. For what it's worth Empire At War made me want to die after a while. The planet map part was very simplistic and repetitive, same for the space and ground "combat". It's like Diet Total War lite.
  10. You may hate it when it's there, but the moment you install the mod the removes that voice, you start to miss it. It just isn't the same playing Baldur's Gate without hearing "You must gather your party..." every five seconds because one of your characters decided to wander off in the opposite direction after getting stuck on a tree. That must be the Stockholm syndrome speaking. The moment I got rid of it was a moment I stopped wanting to stab sharp objects into my ears every 5 seconds.
  11. The Diablo press conference is up on youtube in glorious HD, the other parts are linked in the description. The Diablo QA session is also up in three parts: , and .
  12. Yeah, that's what i meant. You can't just have "Complex of Shadows" be about something completely different.
  13. I just completed it at 100%. It was fab, I need more games like this. They have a whole bunch of Orson Scott Card books to get the plots from, so I wouldn't worry.
  14. No gun katas AFAIK. Running around with your guns out all the time sounds hilarious.
  15. Company of Heroes. It's pretty sweet.
  16. What does the glowy drone do? Shoot at stuff?
  17. You can't objectively say it's the "worst game ever", if it were, there wouldn't be ~11.5 million people playing it. It's just not for you. Maybe you were sad because you didn't have any friends to play with? How cheap? If you want a good laptop for about $600-$800 a Vostro 1500 might be good. The cheapest one on newegg was $379.99, it can play WoW without problems, other games not so much. Same for non-netbook Dells.
  18. Total derail confirmed? Didn't Bioware make MDK2? That was pretty sweet.
  19. I'm sure there are people who don't want to be the captain. Having some sort of collaborative ship experience would be much more interesting. It would be pretty cool if the captain had the outside view, managing stuff while the other crew members run around inside, fixing stuff and boosting shields etc.
  20. So here's some gameplay footage from the Gamescom. Looks like a pretty standard MMO fare to me, but I'm sure someone here will like it.
  21. Just speaking from my experience.
  22. Fullscreen is less demanding than Windowed mode. If you are running a fullscreen game designed for a Pentium 2, on a modern quad core system ~You have load(s) to spare. Sadly I'm limited to two cores.
  23. Uhhhh, why? Unless your cpu is being cooled by a paper fan it should be fine. In my experience fullscreen stuff doesn't really like other resource-dependent stuff in the background. Possible issues include flickering and random minimization.
  24. Playing anything fullscreen while something cpu-heavy is running is usually a very bad idea. It's like saying that Zork is a great game because it doesn't require any graphics. I'd say it's a good game in spite of having any graphics.
  25. Did I? You said Arx is less demanding(machine wise), but it really doesn't matter in this day and age. It's a fun game, but that really isn't a selling point anymore.
