  1. But a whole bunch of the die hard NMAers still bought FO3, even if just to check it out. That's my point.
  2. What I'm saying is that if the people care enough to post about it on message boards they have some interest in it. Are you saying that people are just complaining about it on message boards for the lulz?
  3. Would you complain about a game you're not going to buy, ever?
  4. But then wouldn't it be you who's expecting the absolute worse of the people here? People complaining shows that they care about the game. If it was total garbage I wouldn't bother to complain about it and would just make snide remarks every now and then.
  5. Yes, of course, but that doesn't mean you have to expect the absolute worst about everything.. Who said that?
  6. Then the universe is balanced. Set your expectations too high and you will be disappointed.
  7. God, I made one joking comment about the dragons being dragons and demons at the same time, then Oner said something about DnD and then we went on a tangent about the Babylonian goddess Tiamat. Stop making stuff up, people.
  8. The demo was ok, but quite repetitive. Why does every room have ~10 gargoyles? Picking dudes off one by one and grapple hooking away is really boring. I did like the story bits and voice acting, even if batman is a chump.
  9. Protip: if you make enough categories you can list pretty much every game ever.
  10. The only good thing about FEAR is the combat and awesome enemy AI. The jump scares, story and "characters" are pretty bad, I mean your dude is just called "point man".
  11. Oh well, I'll just put it down as Gaider's irrational hate for all things dragon
  12. Don't get too hyped, it's not THAT great. Still pretty fun, though.
  13. Sure, it's just funny to get told the things that my character is supposed to know already. I guess it's the best way to do a non-amnesiac character.
  14. I just feel that they might have overdone the backstroy a bit. The average player is not going to read the novel or look stuff up on the web. Maria's explanation might just as well have been in Chinese. It's nice to have a backstory, but it should also be easily explainable. Look at the Septerra Core for example, it does an excellent job of introducing you to the pretty complex world. I really hope that DA can do something similar. EDIT: My question was, how will I know all that my PC is supposed to know?
  15. Geez, I really hope they have an awesome into video that makes all that backstory sound cool, because the bits I've seen look like generic medieval fantasy #52617. They can't possibly throw you into the world that your character is supposed to know without giving you the Ferelden 101, right?
  16. Car tires and plastic soldiers The main thing what I like in RPG's are the partymembers. It brings the atmosphere to completely new level for me if they are done well, like in PS:T and NWN2:MotB. So I want to pick those partymembers I personally like, not those who I "need". So if it happens that I need Wynne as a healer and Leliana as a rogue with me all times, that leaves only one partymember I can "freely" choose. Then you use the main character to compensate, or suffer the consequences.
  17. A 4 player party is cramped when there are only 3 classes? What are you smoking, man?
  18. As luck would have it Yahtzee reviewed (demo) a long time ago.
  19. Some DnD writer. She's the mother of all chromatic(evil) dragon in DnD. The Babylonian one was just another faceless goddess that created stuff. Rather than Tiamat, isn't that Takhisis' true form? Takhisis, as in Dark Queen of Krynn? No it's most certainly Tiamat the greater god who guards the entrance to the second level of The Nine Hells of Baator, Dis. EDIT: Apparently they love her so much that she's everywhere
  20. Do any of the dragons talk to you? We'll see about the archdemon. When I think of archdemon-dragon, I think of Tiamat
  21. Wait, it'd be a dumb copout for them to do dragon's differently? Dragons are seen as the smartest and most cunning of creatures in fantasy, turning that on it's head just to make them dumb monsters for you to kill seems like a cop-out to me. Could archdemons be called that because the are awesomer than the regular run-of-the-mill demons?
  22. The premise has always been Molyneux's next pipe dream. It's a miracle he has time to work on Fable III when he's making/hyping Milo & Kate.
  23. People who don't hang around message boards talking about old unknown rpgs?
  24. And Shadowrun dragons are awesome, it makes a lot of sense that to get power and influence in a modern world they would want to be in positions that offer the most power.
