  1. How to spot an action RPG: No pause feature Small/no party Direct control of main character Quests usually involve killing a ton of bad guys.
  2. It's obviously Natal, you ARE the controller!
  3. Can't wait for Fart Simulator 3.0
  4. Outcast, it's an action/adventure game where you are basically exploring an alien world. Too bad it's nigh impossible to get it working these days, hopefully it'll come to Good Old Games soon.
  5. You play with the people on your server and only see the people who are in the same location in the game world as you. They are random strangers, though. To get the real WoW experience you need to get some teamspeak action going.
  6. Well the Grunt video is like the ME2's "violence trailer". I still can't even get over the name
  7. What I'm saying is that maybe some other companies can learn from that, act differently and not go under.
  8. Well I liked BG2 and umm Jennifer Hale is pretty good.
  9. "No current plans for a new Elder Scrolls game"
  10. I really hope you have some friends playing WoW. Playing it solo it pretty much the most boring thing ever.
  11. You must really hate Ubisoft then. They put out like 3 Petz/Babiez games per week.
  12. At this point, it looks like they've punted the idea of a Paragon shepard to the sidelines. Our NPCs so far are 1) murderer who kills for fun, 2) murderer who kills for money, and 3) murderer who kills so humans can rule over all other races. Don't worry, I'm sure they feel really bad about it.
  13. Will you stop the irrational EA hate, Mamoulian War? Not only is it getting old, but EA pulled their stuff together and put out Mirror's Edge and Dead Space, both of which were considerable risks. EA has improved a lot over the last few years. If you really need someone to hate, hate Activision. They are pretty much the definition of sequelitis, not publishing the Ghostbusters game because the "franchise wasn't annually exploitable", sueing EA so that they couldn't publish Br
  14. If I didn't play games and cared about money, that exactly what I'd do.
  15. I hear that is possible in Dragon Age. (Die, Morrigan, die!!!) That's a certain +1 to Dragon Age. I hate forced companions.(You hear that, Khelgar?)
  16. There's less of it because the market has expanded and now includes many non-tech savvy people. Ubisoft can make a ton of money on the Petz and Babiez games because the are cheap to make and hardly anyone pirates them, but the sales are still good. Frankly, I don't see the benefit of making any games for the "hardcore" from a financial point of view.
  17. There really should be an option to shoot the potential companions instead of asking them to join your merry band of scoundrels.
  18. Saw District 9 today. It was ok, but certainly not what the critics are making it up to be. The prawns=black people thing was so obvious and in your face that I kept waiting for some awesome twist, but to no avail. I liked the documentary style, but then it suddenly changed to a more classic cameraman-less movie for no apparent reason. I didn't really feel for any of the characters until the very end. To it's credit the visuals are great and the aliens felt very real. Also, Spoony has an interesting review out.
  19. I'm not saying that the pirates aren't to blame. The pirates are like a force of nature, you can't control them, they do whatever they want. What you can control, however, is your DRM scheme. I'm not saying that Iron Lore should have foreseen it, I'm saying that they could have prevented it. When a tornado kills your cows, is it the tornado's fault? It's your fault for leaving them out. GTA I,II are totally different games from GTA III+, you don't compare Final Fantasy I with Final Fantasy XII. GTA I was a good game for it's time, as was GTA III.
  20. I never said they didn't entertain the sociopath in me, just they were in no way as fine or as successful as the latter ones And Oblivion sold a ton more than Morrowing and looked better. What's your point?
  21. If it had said that, people would have understood that it was because of their pirated copy and not gone to the official forum to bitch about it en masse. Instead they would have waited for it to get cracked as well. You take that back! The first two GTAs were awesome, and are freeware now, BTW.
  22. What's hypocritic on thinking that bad care for customers should be punished by any means, while good care for customers should be rewarded It's hypocritical to support something when it serves your purposes and then not support it when it doesn't. If you are against piracy, except for that one case(EA) you are a hypocrite. Either accept that or change your mindset, you can't have both.
  23. It was their fault for not making the DRM obvious. Just dumping people out of the game with no indication that it was because of DRM is like inviting a PR disaster. They should have had a box pop up and say that you have a pirated version and that's why the game is shutting down.
  24. Here's the quote from a blog quoting Michael Fitch, Director of Creative Management at THQ:
  25. Yeah, I completely agree. I'm just saying that all the rationalizations and counter arguments are irrelevant. The game belonsg to the people who own it. they cna do what they want. If it really bugs someone, they can speak with their wallet and go without. Nobody needs a game to survive. I guess it's the entitlement thing again. You(the general you) are not entitled to the game, the company makes whatever they want and if it sells they will probably make more of it.
