Far Cry 2 question
Oh, believe me, I searched Youtube far and wide and the one I linked was the only one with actual sound effects and not some stupid music/whatever that I could find.

Far Cry 2 question
Mine is better, the sound effects are half of the fun and they are absent in your video. Also, the healing system itself is no better than most other FPSs, but the animations are super special awesome.

Far Cry 2 question
I don't like them because I hate having enemies potentially coming from behind or being in areas that should be safe/cleared out. This only applies for closed-space games like System Shock 2 and the like. It's only annoying in Farcry 2 because you have to go through the same checkpoints a billion times.

Far Cry 2 question
Just don't go in expecting a hardcore shooter, it's more of a fun open world romp than a tightly paced shooter. The respawn is pretty annoying, but most of the time you can just plow through the checkpoints without having to kill everyone there.

Far Cry 2 question
Nope. It was like $20 on Amazon some time ago, don't know if it still is. EDIT: $30 on Steam.

Far Cry 2 question
It did some interesting things and NOTHING beats the healing animations I was severely disappointed with the grenade launcher and explosions in general. They just didn't feel like they had force to them.

He's always cranky. I wouldn't want to see a sleep deprived Batman.

That better not be 4th ed or I might take you up on the no-talk thing

What are you playing now?
Reinstall OS, if that doesn't help it's a hardware problem. Blaming the tools sounds somewhat stupid.

it's mostly about respect to me. I'm tired of telling people it's a hobby of mine and having them reply "But aren't those for kids?" sure video games are for kids. just like movies are for kids. and books are for kids. ****ing dip****s One day you'll show them. You'll show them all.

Boo's life would finally be complete. What we really need is something new so that games wouldn't be the latest cool thing and we could all make fun of that and say how much better games are.- Dragon Age Origins
Maybe in the end you find out that it was all a dream and you are all patients in a mental institution?- Nesiyya CYOA
It might, the robe and wizard hat works every. single. time- Planescape: Torment Topic
Then it's not a game for you. That doesn't make it 'horrible.' I didn't say it was objectively horrible, I thought it was horrible, because I could never finish it under the time limit.- 4x games?
One is the recreation of a historical injustice while the other is not. Won't somebody please think of the pixels?- Planescape: Torment Topic
I thought Princess Mononoke was the best animated movie evar. Feel free to ignore me then, because I'm not going to be watching it anytime soon. My non-animated movie backlog is big enough.- Planescape: Torment Topic
I'm sorry, but I hate time limits. I take fun over realism in my video games, thank you very much.- Planescape: Torment Topic
The original PoP was horrible because of the time limit. PoP 2 was pretty awesome, but I think it also had a time limit.- Planescape: Torment Topic
You have to download a DLC to get the real ending? I meant the non-DLC ending. Have you played/seen the PoP ending? It's kind of cool.- Planescape: Torment Topic
it's certainly not for everyone. you need to be the kind of person who appreciates aesthetics and emotion to really get anything out of it. it's like a brilliantly executed interactive silent film. I think it's pretty close to something miyazaki would have done were he interested in making video games without dialogue. in other words, if you're the type of person who thinks "Spirited Away" was boring, then stay FAR from SotC. plotwise there is no real similarity, but tonally and emotionally they both conjure up the same feelings of isolation, loneliness, nostalgia, and whimsical sorrow. edit: the gameplay is nothing special imo though I don't have any desire to play it because it's on the PS2 and I don't have any at hand(or anywhere else for that matter). Never seen Spirited Away. I imagine it's somewhat like the new Prince of Persia's ending-ish part. I know the general plot and whatnot.- Planescape: Torment Topic
It wasn't buggy at all on my PS2, dunno where you got that from. Did you actually play it? I haven't played it. Multiple people have complained about serious framerate drops and a lot of people hate the controls. Replace "buggy" with "janky". when this game came out nearly every review mentioned it's "arty-ness" that's not something that happened later, its been present since day one. as for the controls, i just sigh when i read people complaining about how the horse doesnt always do exactly what you want. its a horse not a car, sometimes when you pull on the reigns he'll resist you a bit. its not bad control, its excellent, realistic control. the jumping/climbing on the other hand... yeah that could have used a bit of work. games like assassins creed make jumping and climbing much easier. i think ICO gets a lot less attention than shadow of the colossus Still, many people didn't discover it until later. I don't really have any desire to play it, though.- Dragon Age Origins
I thought it was the English name. Oh well.- Dragon Age Origins
It's funny because everyone want to invent new words and now all that's left is to twist the ones created before. It would be nice if they were at least pronounceable. - Planescape: Torment Topic
