I said what Steam was in the last post. DRM is digital rights management, about which you can read further on Wikipedia. Since you probably still have dial-up, just get a retail copy. It should be dirt cheap these days.

It's by no means a literary classic, but as a series it's pretty epic. Once I'm finished with that it's Song of Ice and Fire time.

You'll want the Good Old Games version for the mods and DRM-less-ness. Steam is an online content delivery system.

Having a completely empty world is as bad as having the enemies respawn every minute. To make it work you need to create a balance and if you really want to make it work, something that will slow down the respawn rate or allow you to make areas friendly forever. If you complete a series of nice hard story quests and liberate a sector it would be nice if it remained that way, I don't want to come back there and liberate it again and again.

I really wouldn't do it again, just making a flash drive bootable is a pretty long and rocky road. I almost bricked my ASUS 1000H trying to get XP on it, but in the end I emerged victorious and with the the knowledge that using an external HDD is way easier.
