  1. Well originam myths aboyt elfs are complatly difftren then elf that we will gonna se in PE. Dwarws also has almost no features of mythical dwarwes. Mythical dwarws were very small, elfs has more features of faires then humans. If the devs decide that dragons are gonna be friendly pets of humans becouse it fitt in their world your argumentation like "Meke them like in myth or don't" is simply pointless. I like dragons is skyrim (withs some mods that make them stroger) but i don't want that type of dragons in Eternety. the fist type of dragons more simmiliar more to orgininal D&D dragons becouse if you read cerfully you whoud seen that i sad "Neurtal to humqans and loners, avoiding humans" in skyrim they where agresive and looking for humans so complatly diffrent .. and of course where weak. My secound thout about dragons is hidden empire and i simple don't understand sentence "ur***/otherkin race" mayby my engish is not good enouth so please use other word to describe your opinion. Why i am for anciend hidden empire ? Becouse it more original then "EXp bags" or "common mosters scenarios" and becouse i think that in some ruins that we se in artworks (see endless paths) we se some andcien ruins of older civilization and my hidden empire concept fitts. Secodry i like "Slayers" dragons, also origninal. Besides "In Eastern myth and pre-Buddhist religion they're the highest of Gods" also fittis to hidden empire scenario for exampe simple farmers see a dragon on the sky and disapears and starting to think that he is a god but in reality he just enterd a invisible dragon town suspended in the air. Besides if you knew more about medival history in wester europe, dragons where more to common with Devil it's self, Dragon was a devil or his servant puppet and also comes from hell ... so what ? We donna input dragons as devils ? To the topic Another humanoid dragon You make some good points @ Agx Sorry my friend but he has you there when he mentions that if we want dragons to be typical of mythology it wouldn't make sense in the context of a fantasy setting like PE. So lets discuss different and relative ways Dragons can appear in PE I like the whole Dragon civilization concept. What about a idea where dragons once ruled vast parts of the PE world, humans and other races were there slaves but then thousands of years ago the Dragons were overthrown and the races freed themselves so they could decide there own destiny. This could lead to dragon gods who still exist but scheme of returning to ruling the lands, very powerful dragons who are descendent's of the original dragon rulers and dragon cults who long for a time where the dragons can return to power. But either way the dragons would have there own society and civilization
  2. There have been some informative responses around why you guys don't like MMOs. They make sense, I haven't played a MMO for about 2 years so I am definitely not an avid fan, but I do enjoy them. I do like the whole Foundry aspect of NWN Online. It will be cool to create dungeons and populate them with creatures and traps
  3. Ah you bring back memories, I remember that feeling of almost helplessness in the beginning of F:NV with no effective equipment and having to face the big, bad post-apocalyptic world. Thats one of the reasons I love the game so much. Its the fact that during the game you constantly feel its a battle for survival
  4. This may be old but I am not sure why more people aren't commenting on this impending MMO. It looks like it will offer a real D&D experience, also Perfect World is releasing the Foundry which will allow players to create there own modules and adventures in the game for other people. I am obviously missing something that explains the lackluster excitement from these forums?
  5. I don't know but I also think there is air of superciliousness and entitlement coming from your opinion. It sounds like you are expecting PC products to automatically be better than Console products or you won't support them. You remind me of the French nobility before the revolution. I am not trying to insult you, I am just being honest.
  6. Alan that has been my single biggest disappointment in gaming, the fact that Red Dead never made it to PC. What do you mean when you said its not financially viable for Rockstar to port the game to PC? At the moment I refuse to buy a console so my policy is I don't support any game unless its on the PC Whether or not it's actually true, that's part of the motivation. I don't know the full details as to why, but it's something I heard directly from someone that worked for Rockstar.. Sucks, but c'est la vie. Devs are free to do what they want, however. Edit: Seems like other people have some better explanations as to the why. Alan, I have an idea. You and I should boycott any future Rockstar games until they release RDR on PC. When Rockstar realizes that people like you and I are making a stand on principle they should move quickly to port RDR to PC. What do you think?
  7. You want to ride a spear ? no he is just being silly, please ignore him
  8. Nice pictures Op I agree with the above post but you should be able to defeat them. Whats the point if you can't beat them? well, near unbeatable. I heard in Skyrim you had dragons and they weren't even the fiercest beasts you could beat, they died quite quickly after a while. That's not what I think of when I think of dragons, when I think of dragons I think of (near) unbeatable doom machines you better not cross. With a mind like a cat. (similar to how Robin Hobb describes dragons) Makes sense, they should be very hard to defeat.

  10. You mean....no point in murder-grinding.... which is a staple of modern RPGs and MMOs, and IMO needs to be toned down about 20 notches. its a stupid, mindless concept. There's a bajillion other ways to gain exp in a role-playing game, but most have been completely forgotten over the years, and the result? We've now got people like you who don't know what role-playing even is - that actually equate killing exclusively with EXP, to the point where they cannot conceive of other ways to gain levels. Play Planescape Torment sometime and you'll see how wonderful it is to get your exp from talking (for example) instead of just racking up kills. Oh, and there's a whole lot more to exploration than just going out and making things die. Not sure why you even brought up exploration, as the concept itself is virtually unrelated to combat. Lol, that's rich, son. I've been playing rpgs longer than you've been alive. Played in a place I doubt you've even heard of called Lake Geneva in the 70s. I know a thing or two about role playing. EXP for kills has been around since the beginning. Without it you have stupid story games, not rpgs. You mean you've been hanging around with Gygax, Arneson and the other first-generation RPG gamers? That would be cool. The (surprising to me) fact is indeed that D&D originally seems to have completely lacked what we nowadays believe to be good old-fashioned role-playing. The game was apparently all about fighting your way through huge dungeons and collecting tons of loot. No complex storylines, no elaborately developed characters, no deep in-character interactions with PCs and NPCs - just dungeon crawling and killing monsters and looting their treasure. Not the kind of game I'd like to play really, but knowing this helps not to take role-playing too serious now. Roleplaying RPG = Role Playing Game But Helm he is talking about RPG in the context of what the original D&D use to be, and I agree with him. I use to play D&D in the later 1980's and I remember it being more about the exploration, dungeon, monsters and the loot than the complex narrative and interaction between characters. Nowadays we have both in our RPG and I so consider them superior
  11. You really believe that bolded part? Even a little? And what dumbing down? What do you know about the game that we don't? Yeah I'm also a little confused, what do you mean by "dumbing down"?
  12. There is nothing wrong with a person acknowledging that PE isn't the type of game for them. We live in a world of free choice and you are entitled to financially support what you want. I would just move on to other forums where you may find a game more appropriate to your perspective of what constitutes an RPG. Have you considered the Dragon Age 3 forums?
  13. Okay interesting, thanks for the update.
  14. I firmly believe that there are times when international intervention is required and necessary in certain countries internal politics. Mali needed assistance and the French and there allies provided it. This is a good thing and shows that the world does care, well certain countries care.
  15. Great idea! I tend to forget about that one - never did go to the prom/dances anything semi-formal in school or otherwise, for a date. I'll take you for a date, what time should I pick you up? I'm old fashioned and I believe in paying for everything, especially the first date.
  16. rt Mmmmm, that doesn't sound right. I am convinced that Gorgon is a voluptuous , beautiful Danish brunette? Would you let us know if Gorgon is your date? Personally I find the whole thing romantic OBSIDIAN WAY OFF TOPIC HEADLINES "And true love founds its way when the two star crossed lovers were finally reunited. Let no man say that the life of an Obsidian moderator should be a lonely one."
  17. "gorthfucius" , you funny

  19. Thx guys, I appreciate the translation. So we'll wait and see
  20. I hear you, can you maybe read that link I posted and then translate. I just want the summary of what that German website is saying?
  21. Wow, thats interesting. I never played the original but I heard its a classic Here is a sceeenshot from this game http://www.pcgames.de/Das-schwarze-Auge-Die-Schicksalsklinge-PC-249135/News/Das-Schwarze-Auge-Schicksalsklinge-Neuauflage-der-Nordlandtrilogie-angekuendigt-1046051/
  22. Yeah and no. In my experience beautiful women get hit on so much that with them, the ridiculous advice of "just be yourself" is actually sound. Most beautiful women could have whoever they want, so the best thing to do really is be relaxed and yourself and accept the fact that she will either choose you or somebody else; there is very little you can do. I know a lot more people who'll just approach amazing-looking women since the cost/benefit ratio is so good. Could be cultural differences, could be me knowing too many arrogant **** and economists. Raithe: one-upping your friends that way is a quick route into finding that you are no longer invited. I know I get left out a lot, and have to tone it down myself. Of course, cultural differences, again. Most women my age around here will get into a feminist tizzy over "old-fashioned manners", so helping a girl put her coat on is one of my key tests in whether I should spend more time with them. Sound advice my friend, you make some good points I had a few issues with ladies I met where my good manners were misconstrued as being patronizing and not appreciated. But I still prefer good manners.
  23. And of course you lied and told them "this is how I always behave" I like the way you operate, I like the way you operate
  24. That sounds interesting, a game about Vampires on the Eastern front in World War 2
  25. Thats impressive, having the guts to do that and also actually getting it right is much harder to do than it sounds. You obviously come across as genuine and sincere. Nice one Its funny but I met someone at a club on Saturday, she is is a chef and we going for waffles tomorrow night.
