  1. Interesting poll, I voted for Sex but I also think Romance( Option 1) needs to be part of the necessary courting process in the game. I hope the poll results don't become skewered because of this.
  2. Holy Smoke, I didn't realize the Marine Corp was that old. Happy B-day
  3. This is good idea but we know already that the response would be a resounding yes as we saw from various polls. So that would create a dilemma, " what would all you anti-romance say and debate in your spare time" And that would be unfortunate as I enjoy these Romance\Sex discussions
  4. As long as the discussion is not about game romance. Nice post Op. I have noticed increased vitriol around some of the comments in the various Romance\Sex posts from people against Romance\Sex. But apart from that I think these forums are generally cordial
  5. I agree with this, the only game I really wanted to play on PC that was console only has been Red Dead Redemption
  6. Unfortunately I am the master of bad hangovers, I have worked out 2 things on how to mitigate them Shooters generally increase the likelihood of them (but Tequila is so festive I can't resist) If you drink about 1 liter of water before you go to sleep you can avoid most hangovers ( the problem is I sometimes forget to drink the water before sleeping ) You see, by taking electrolytes you don't need a litre of water. Now I am an old fart ™ a litre would have me up pissing every hour. Interesting, and when you say electrolytes what exactly do you mean? Edit : Okay I see the photo. I get it
  7. I stopped with my very first post. The rest were defensive (and pointless in retrospect) posts when I was called up to provide some basis for it (which I did). Imagine a world where people weren't allowed to provide comments to topics. At most (and I didn't expect that in the least) I wanted to be helpful. Sorry, if that offended you. Again. I am not offended at all, but thanks for the apology. I am also trying to help you see that nitpicking the heading of a topic isn't what a forum discussion is about. Its not constructive. We should be discussing the topic and in this case the link. I absolutely support discussion and debate but surly it should relevant to the topic

  9. As with every nitpick, no real one. Just give a small information/ minimal constructive critisism. Certainly nothing worth the argument here. Though, I'm quick to defend myself. Imagine a world where we all felt the need to question the accuracy of headings on forums based on our opinions of that accuracy, personally I prefer just commenting or not on the topic. But please you carry on nitpicking.
  10. No, but it very much implies there is *some real* science in the game. *some* Some. And these aren't claims. How are these claims? What? It's broad because the word *science* has a really broad definition. It does not only refer to physics etc. How is the englisch language used in the game not *real* especially since this isn't a fantasy world with made up words? How? Again, this is a NITPICK on the wording in the title. Nothing else! I'm not even remotly arguing that games or narratives in general are *realistic*. Hell, I agree generally with your opinion and on the space fantasy thing (Which wording you probably *took* from George Ziets formspring, right?) I'm interested, whats your reason for nitpicking? Just so you have something to say for the sake of saying it?
  11. Nope I didn't hate the ME series, I wasn't even that disappointed with the ending because I am not an avid follower of the ME series like I am of Fantasy RPG. So for me I didn't have high expectations, I was entertained by the game and enjoyed it. Thats all I ask from any game
  12. http://arstechnica.com/gaming/2012/11/putting-the-science-back-in-wasteland-2s-science-fiction/ Fascinating article, InXile Entertainment is looking at the possibility of future science to explain some of features that will be in the game. I like this reasoning
  13. No offense but you should feel bad holding him to that Free Pizza. He is below you in the economic scale and that is really going to hit him hard. I believe in service, for example in a good restaurant if the service or food is below par than I have no issue getting a discount. But making some indigent delivery pizza guy pay for your food I think is immoral (especially if he gets fired). The question I would ask myself, if what he is saying is true, is "was that 20 minutes inconvenience worth his llivelihood ", sorry to sound critical but thats just how I see it Hi Cant I am sure this has been a sensitive time for you with the losses you experienced. And overall I do think we are generally lucky in our lives and circumstances.
  14. Then you were mistaken. I haven't been to Canada but aren't you guys part of the USA? I mean do you have your own cultural identity, from what I have seen you follow the USA in most things. There is nothing wrong with that. A fitting fantasy analogy would be a pixie and a giant, of course the pixie wants to be part of the giants world. Its a question of survival? Or am I missing something
  15. I think we can safely agree that this comparison is ridiculous. Wha- I don't even- Why yes I can. I'm talking about Western philosophy (from the ancient Greeks to the French existentialists) or about literature, theater and arts and so on and so on. Fact: The USA is a country with European origins. "You guys?" I think you're referring to the Benelux states, Scandinavia or Great Britain. That's a difference. While I agree with you that monarchies are obsolete, I can safely say that none of the kings and queens are really in charge of anything else than shaking someone else's hands. Actually yes, I believe that many Americans are brainwashed peasants. I mean look at your politics. It's ridiculous. It's like a circus or a hollywood movie. Many Americans are entirely driven by emotions rather than reason. Europe has a long tradition of philosophers (think Immanuel Kant for example). We just don't like making a drama of things that are better discussed rationally. That was 1939. Today is 2012. It's simply baffling what kind of people you have in politics. That's what probably makes us look arrogant. But hey, we are truly baffled, I can tell you that much. As far as I know your language is of European origin. Of course Europe is the birthplace of Western ideology, it has a 2000 year history that is both rich and has lead to the creation of most of the institutions that we use today in Western culture, like our courts and systems of governments The EU is also very important in implementing sanctions. However they aren't very strong when it comes to military action. If you look at the last 15 years, the EU doesn't act militarily unless the USA is involved. For example in Libya they relied on the US advanced bombing techniques to destroy the Libyan anti-aircraft defenses. This military impotence from the EU I see as a problem, as it does undermine there effectiveness when it comes to belligerent countries. The EU should be prepared to send troops or act militarily without the support of the USA. The exception to this is France and the UK which have and can act unilaterally but they, for example, wouldn't send troops to a hot spot like Syria without support of the rest of EU
  16. I don't agree with that assessment of the USA under Bush, I don't think that is what most Europeans think either. I assume you think the same of the UK under Tony Blair? Bush and some of his policies were disliked but he also had the arduous task of being president during the beginning of the War on Terror. There were many things that were done legitimately that some now say were not justified. Like the invasion of Afghanistan which was perfectly understandable and necessary. I generally object to blanket generalizations about a country or nation, so statements " "all Americans are the dumbest rednecks on the planet" doesn't represent the reality of the Bush era
  17. I heard about that on the news as they were covering the election. Classy, Trump. But it is funny. I picture him with his wig all askew, drink in hand, ranting at office lackeys while posting on twitter. He is a bit of clown, also a master of theatrics. I don't know if any of you ever saw the Ali G interview with Donald Trump, obviously Trump had never heard of Ali G and thought he represented some sort of legitimate institution that wanted to interview him. It was hilarious, Trump walked off halfway through the interview in a tempestuous mood.
  18. http://video.foxnews...ntcmp=obnetwork Guys you must watch the video about a political commentator saying a "Romney victory is irrefutable" Even the Fox News lady has her doubts but the guy, Richard Morris, claims " he knows what he is saying as political predictions is his job" I guess he should be updating his CV right about now? Oh this was his response after the election http://video.foxnews...id=938973798001 What I find amazing is how can a political commentator have such a myopic and uninformed view of the USA political landscape? Almost all discussions I have seen on other News networks highlighted the fact that Romney doesn't have the right demographics around the voting base, Morris is only acknowledging this now? And this is suppose to be someone who informs the Fox News viewers.
  19. I find Australia almost like a Police state, your laws are strict. No weed, no taking cheese into the country and apparently very strict on DUI. No exceptions from what people who have immigrated have told me?
  20. Well said, rather Tax it and generate revenue. In South Africa its part of black culture, as a white person I find it absurd that we try to change these types of aspects of other cultures. You can buy weed all over the place so even though its "illegal" many people smoke it. In fact you have to have more than 6 grams on you before the cops will even consider arresting you and even then its unlikely
  21. Yes this is another progressive move and will weaken the power of Drug Cartels. I'm very supportive of this legislation
  22. We don't get Fox News in South Africa, what are they saying about Romney's loss. I heard some of there commentators are blaming Chris Christie because he said Obama is doing a good job addressing the Hurricane Sandy crisis? I have to be honest I don't like most of Fox News, so I wish I could see there justifications for the Republican loss (I know its petulant to gloat but I just find them far too right wing in many cases)
  23. I cringed with embarrassment by Chuck Norris theatrics around this video, you talk about being overly dramatic
  24. Something else I have to add is the absolutely inspiring and powerful victory speech by Obama and the important concession speech by Romney. In South Africa I have been listening to peoples comments on the way to work, we are really envious and in awe of the level of maturity to the various speeches and how they resonate with people across the political spectrum. Most of our politicians just aren't on that level yet, we have work to do and the USA sets an important precedent for how politicians can conduct themselves in public.
